Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2014;31(5):469-472
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)is the most common progressive liver disease worldwide.Currently, there is no satisfy-ing treatment for NAFLD.Research progress in fatty acid bile acid conjugates (FABACs)and ursodeoxycholyl lysophosphatidylethanolamide (UDCA-LPE),which are two novel liver targeted drugs with anti-NAFLD effects,is reviewed.FABACs,which reduce liver fat in pa-tients with NAFLD induced by high-fat diet by regulating lipid metabolism, have been proved effective in preventing and treating NAFLD. The safety and efficacy of FABACs in NAFLD patients have been confirmed in a phase II,randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled trial.UDCA-LPE can not only reduce liver fat in NAFLD patients, but also inhibit mitochondrial damage and apoptosis and promote hepa-tocyte regeneration, with a marked anti-inflammatory effect during the development of NAFLD.Therefore,FABACs and UDCA-LPE hold promise for preventing and treating NAFLD.

Objective To study the method of cryopreservation, and method of cultivation of hepatocytes of sucking pig. Methods Hepatocytes were isolated from sucking pig by two-step perfusion with collagenase using an extracorporeal perfusion apparatus. They were cryopreserved in liquid nitrogen for 4 months. They were thawed and seeded on gelatin coated bottom of a flask. The cells were covered with another layer of collagen. The exprssion of albumin mRNA, cellular morphology synthesis of urea, and content of oxalylacetylaminotransferase were determined in the collagen cultures. Results Thawed hepatocytes maintained their biological characters well after cryopreservation. The thawed hepatocytes could grow well in collagen gel, sandwich culture. In the 10-day cultures, typical cellular morphological and biological characteristics of cultured hepatocytes could be observed. Conclusion Hepatocytes stored in liquid nitrogen could maintain their activities for a long time. The hepatocytes could be cultivated in collagenous matrix, which provided an environment closely resembling that in nature, and their morphology and functions could be maintained.

Objective Retrospective observating the diminishing inflammation and lowering enzymatic effect with diammonium glycyrrhizinate (ganlixin injectionfluid) on hepatitis, such as chronic hepatitis, hepatocirrhosis, drug induced hepatitis and alcoholic hepatitis. Methods The 629 case hepatitis sufferers, including chronic hepatitis with light to middle degree, hepatocirrhosis, drug induced hepatitis and alcoholic hepatitis, were treated with 150 mg diammonium glycyrrhizinate added into 250 ml 5 % to 10 % glucose injection liquid. Another 127 chronic hepatitis sufferers treated with injecho potenl ini were seen as contrast. When the treatment was over, the level of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and serum bilirubin (SB) and symptom of patients in two groups were analysed. Results The level of ALT and SB dropped more rapidly than that in contrast group, but there were no marked difference in symptoms recover. After 17 days therapy, there are 93.3 % patients with ALT normal level in treating group, but 73.3% in contrast group (P

Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(07):-
Objective To assess the influence of host factors on the progression to cirrhosis in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Methods Duration of 121 patients from HCV infection developing to liver cirrhosis was compared according to age at which HCV was infected, having the history of acute hepatopathy or not, infection pathway and sex. Patients with other hepatitis virus infection were excluded. Age, at which HCV was infected, was identified as that at blood transfusion or acute episode in non-transfusion patients. No patients had applied to any drugs. Results It took mean (27.17?6.78) years for the patients of age range 0-20 at which HCV was infected to develop to cirrhosis, while only (10.16?5.84) years for those of age range 41~50. There were significant differences between them (P0.05). Conclusion Our data show that patients with older age at which HCV was infected, with history of acute hepatopathy or HCV infection through blood transfusion developed into liver cirrhosis in shorter time. Sex was not found to have significant influence on the progression to cirrhosis.

Objective To explore the practicality and feasibility and evaluation of the team based learning method (TBL) combined with the clinical pathway leaning method (CP) in clinical teaching of department of gynecology and obstetrics. Methods Toltally 40 clinical specialist interns selected for the study were randomly divided into two groups (each 20) respectively, using TBL com-bined with CP teaching method and traditional teaching method, and to make analysis and comparisons on the above two teaching methods. Differences were compared with t testing. Meanwhile, a question-naire survey was carried out among students of TBL combined with CP teaching group for qualitative analysis of the implementation effect of TBL combined with CP pedagogy. (Qualitative analysis is the medical students' evaluation of teaching effect, without further statistical processing). Results The professional test results of TBL combined with CP teaching team were superior to the traditional teach-ing group [(83.95 ±7.63) vs. (72.00 ±5.26)] and the difference was significant by paired t tests and analysis (t=5.063,P<0.05). The knowledge contest results of TBL combined with CP teaching team were superior to the traditional teaching group(90 vs. 85,95 vs. 75,85 vs. 70). TBL combined with CP method has been recognized by 90% medical students and they think that most of their quality has been further improved. Conclusions TBL combined with CP method for the clinical teaching of de-partment of gynecology and obstetrics is practical and feasible, and should be widely applied.

Aim Toinvestigatetheeffectofhigh,me-dium and low doses of Mahuang decoction on the re-lease amount of rat hippocampal neural transmitter (Glu,Gly,Asp,GABA),then compare Mahuang de-contion with ephedra alkaloids and ephedra. Methods Ratswererandomlydividedinto6groupsandgiven orally with Mahuang decoction of high dose (calculated by ephedra 4 g·kg-1 ),medium dose (calculated by ephedra 2 g·kg-1 ),low dose (calculated by ephedra 1 g · kg-1 ),ephedra (calculated by ephedra 2 g · kg-1 ),ephedra alkaloids (ephedrine 7 mg · kg-1 , pseudoephedrine 2. 4 mg · kg-1 , methylephedrine 1. 12 mg · kg-1 )and blank control group.Samples were obtained from the hippocampus of conscious rat by microdialysis sampling technique. The content of ami-no acid neurotransmitters in dialysates was detected u-sing the established HPLC-ECD with OPA pre-column derivationmethod. Results Fouraminoacidneuro-transmitters could be well separated in 28 min.High, medium and low doses of Mahuang decoction, ephedra and ephedra alkaloids significantly increased the con-tent of these four amino acid neurotransmitters,com-pared with blank control group (P<0. 05 ).Ephedra alkaloids significantly reduced the levels of inhibitoryamino acid neurotransmitters GABA and Gly in 90 min, compared with the medium dose of Mahuang de-coction.Excitatory neurotransmitters of ASP and Glu in hippocampus showed the trend of increase first and then decrease after oral administration of Mahuang de-coction and ephedra. The levels of Glu and Asp reached peaks from 90 min to 120 min after treatment with Mahuang decoction, and also increased along with dose increase of Mahuang decoction. In comparison with the medium dose of Mahuang decoction group, the level of Glu reached peak at 90 min and 150 min in ephedra alkaloids group and ephedra group respective-ly,and the content of Glu significantly increased at peaktime. Conclusions Increasedcontentofexcita-tory amino acid neurotransmitters (Asp and Glu ) shows positive correlation with the dose of Mahuang de-coction.Other components in Mahuang decoction in-hibits the up-regulation effect of ephedra and ephedra alkaloids on Glu,and promotes the up-regulation effect of ephedra alkaloids on GABA and Gly.
