Purpose:To evaluate the different dose distribution created by three different plans on a nasopharyngeal carcinoma case with simultaneous integrated boost intensity modulated radiation therapy (SIB-IMRT). Methods:we designed three different SIB-IMRT plans on a nasopharyngeal carcinoma case, one was from anterior direction of the head, 5 non-equally spaced fields, another was from posterior direction of the head, 5 non-equally spaced fields also, third was 5 equally spaced fields around the head. Each plan had its dose distribution to the target and main critical structures. Results:No significant difference of dose distribution to the target when comparing the previous three different IMRT plans. However, dose to the parotids delivered from 5-equally spacd was obviously lower than the other plans, dose to the optic chiasm was much lower created by the plan designed from the posterior direction of the head with 5 non-equally spacea field. Conclusions:For a nasopharyngeal carcinoma case, there is no significant difference of dose distribution to the target compared with three different 5-beam orientation SIB-IMRT plans. To protect parotids, we recommend designing a plan with equal beam direction around the head. When the target is very close to the optic chiasm, plauning from posterior direction of the head should be better.

Objective To analyze the CT signs and the clinical relevant factors of degenerative osteoarthritis of athnto-odontoid joint. Methods The CT signs and the clinical information of 214 patients received CT scans of skull from June 2011 to April 2012 were analyzed retrospectively. Results One hundred and twenty patients were diagnosed with degenerative osteoarthritis of atlanto-odontoid joint, while 67 of them having subaxial degenerative osteoarthritis at the same time.Forty-three patients had a history of chronic cervical and occipital pain.95.83% (115/120) patients showed osteophytes in CT scans, while 44.17% (53/1 20) showed calcification around dens and 24.17% (29/120) showed joint space obliteration. The incidence rate increased with age.Seventy-seven patients [64.17%(77/120)] appeared cervical and occipital pain. Conclusions Degenerative osteoarthritis of atlanto-odontoid joint shows hyperostosis, osteophytes at the edge of joint, joint space obliteration and calcification around dens in the CT scans. The incidence rate is increased with age and correlated with cervical and occipital pain.

Objective To investigate the clinical utility of dual-energy virtual non-contrast CT(VNCT)of dual source CT in the di-agnosis and differential diagnosis of solitary pulmonary nodule(SPN).Methods Thirty-six patients with suspected SPN underwent chest plain single energy CT and dual-phase contrast enhanced CT (DECT)(25 and 90 s).The images of dual energy were sent to a commercial workstation for VNC image generation.CT values of SPN on VNC and true non-contrast(TNC),as well as signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)and contrast-to-noise ratio(CNR)were compared. The accuracy of calcification detection was compared according to the diameter and density of the calcification. The TNC images were used as the reference. Results CT values,SNR and CNR of VNC had no statistical difference among TNC and VNC at 25 s and 90 s(P >0.05).DECT VNC(5mm slice)could accurate detected calci-fication(diameter>2 mm,CT value>1 50 HU)in SPN.The 2 mm slice performed significantly better than 5 mm slice VNC images. Conclusion The VNC could provide consistent diagnostic information with TNC.The thin slice DECT VNC images can be used in clinical practice to replace TNC without losing small calcification in SPN,which has potential to reduce the patient radiation dose.

Objective To explore the diagnostic value of axial diffusion tensor imaging(DTI) for gliomas grading at 3 .0T MRI , analyze the characteristics of different grades gliomas of axial DTI in order to improve diagnostic accuracy .Methods A retrospec‐tive analysis was performed involving a group of 37 cases of high grade glioma and 26 cases of low grade glioma confirmed by the pathological results in affiliated hospital of Luzhou medical college ,observation analysis was obtained in axial DTI ,peritumoral neu‐rofibrillary was divided into three types :displacement ,interruption and neurofibrillary tangles(NFT) .Results among the 26 cases of low grade glioma ,there were 18 cases of displacement ;8 cases of interruption ,no NFT ;among the 37 cases of high grade glio‐mas ,there were 9 cases of displacement ,21 cases of interruption ,and 7 cases of NFT (1 case of frontal lobe ,6 cases of temporal lobe);ordinal variables rank sum test in two independent samples between high grade glioma group and low grade glioma showed significant differences(Z= -3 .756 ,P<0 .05);χ2 test showed no significant difference(P>0 .05) ,frontal lobe appeared NFT in 1 case ,accounting for 2 .7% (1/37) ,temporal lobe appeared NFT in 6 cases ,accounting for 16 .2% (6/37) .Conclusion Peritumoral neurofibrillary of the low grade gliomas more performed displacement ,the high grade gliomas show more interrupts and NFT at 3 .0T MRI ,NFT in high grade gliomas is often seen in the temporal and frontal lobe .

Objective To investigate the characteristics of the preoperative and postoperative urodynamical parameters of women with uterine cervical carcinoma after radical hysterectomies. Methods Forty-six women had uterine cervical carcinoma at stage Ⅰ b or Ⅱ a.Complete pre-and postoperative urodynamie follow-ups were conducted for each patient. Results Twenty-six women(57%)who had preoperatively normal urinary tract function needed to void by abdominal straining after radical surgery. After the radical hysterectomy, the postvoid residual volume[(205?201)vs(5?3)ml,P

Objective To evaluate the effect of convalescent training on patients after special prosthesis replacement in treatment of giant cell tumors. Methods 20 patients with giant cell tumors were treated with convalescent trainings postoperatively, including trainings of muscle strength, joint movement, balance, noumenal sense and gait and were emphasized for earlier training of active muscle contraction. Results According to Enneking score system of bone and muscle postoperation, the lowest for extremitas superior postoperation score of 5 patiens was 20,the highest was 28, the average was 26.6. 4 patiens score was higher than 24, the good rate was 80.0 %.15 patiens extremitas inferior score was from 14 to 27, the average was 21.5, the good rate was 86.7 %. Conclusion Earlier staged joint functional rehabilitation exercise after special prosthesis replacement in treatment of giant cell tumors could prevent ankylosis, improve adhering of capsule, ligament and other soft tissue, and recover the joint function to maximum.

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(04):-
Objective: To investigate the relationship between serum leptin concentration and diet nutrition, age and gender. Method: One hundred fifty-eight men and women aged 18-72 y were initially drawn from a community in Jinan City. The parameters measured included height, weight and serum leptin concentrations. In addition, a 3-d food record was used to represent usual food intake by the participants. Results: The mean serum leptin concentration in males was 8.38?6.31ng/ml, while in females 24.98?13.29 ng/ml. Serum leptin level in males was significantly correlated with age, but not in females. Respectively, serum leptin level in males and females were not correlated to dietary factors. After adjusted for BMI, serun leptin level in females was positively correlated with dietary intake of fat, MUFA and PUFA. Conclusion: Serum leptin level in female is higher than that in male. Age is correlated to serum leptin level in males. The relation of dietary intake of fat, MUFA and PUFA to serum leptin concentration only existed in women.
