In this paper, Liuwei Dihuang pill was used to study the identification of Chinese patent medicine by fluorescence sequencing typing technology. The DNA of Paeonia suffruticosa was used as template to amplify by five pair of FAM fluorescence labeling primers. Then, the amplified products were sequenced. The sequencing results were analyzed by GeneMarker V1.80 to screen the best fluorescence labeling primers. As a result, psbA-trnH fluorescence labeling primer was used to identify the raw materials of Liuwei Dihuang pill. The results showed that three kinds of raw plant medicinal materials in Liuwei Dihuang pill were able to be correctly identified by psbA-trnH fluorescence labeling primer. The fluorescence sequencing typing technology can stably and accurately distinguish raw medicinal materials in Chinese patent medicine.

From 2006 to 2010,381 national or provincial projects were granted to Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Chinese CDC).According to the development plan of key dsciplines made by Chinese CDC, this study stratified the granted projects and analyzed their distribution in the four units (including 37 subunits),namely, infection disease, health, chronic disease and general technology platform. The results indicated that most of the important topics proposed by our center received financial support from the government, and the supported projects were mostly in the field of infectious disease and health. The results also revealed that the key projects proposed by Chinese CDC meet the practical requirements of disease control, and those projects covered the key scientific topics and key technologies.Meanwhile, the result reflected that Chinese CDC is very competitive as far as scientific research is concerned, but the research structure is not balanced among the 4 units.

The effects of glipizide on SI、SG、KG、Iarea 0~20min、FBG、FINS with minimal model in non-insulin-dependent diabetes meIlitus were observed. The results showed SI、SG、KG、Iarea 0~20min were lower and FBG was higher in NIDDM than these in normal subjects before glipizide therapy. After two weeks of glipizide therapy,FBG was decreased and SI、SG、KG、Iarea 0~20min were increased. These data suggested that glipizide not only had the effect on stimulating islet ?-cell secretion, but also improving insulin sensitivity and glucose effectiveness.

Objective To determine the frequency of polymorphism at exon 26 (C3435T) of muhidrug resistance 1 gene (MDR1) in epileptic patients in the southern Chinese and to study the association of this polymorphism with pharmacoresistance. Methods DNA samples were obtained from 134 patients,of whom 72 were resistant to antiepileptic drug treatment and 62 were responsive to the treatment. Genotypes of the C3435T polymorphism were determined by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) followed by restriction digestion and gel electrophoresis.Genotype and allele frequencies in the drug resistant group were compared to those in the response group by Chi-square analysis. Results Of all 134 patients,33 (24.6%) had CC genotype,72 (53.7%) had CT genotype, and 29 (21.6%) had TT genotype. The frequency of CC genotype was significantly higher in the pharmaeoresistance group (33.3%) than that in the responsive group (14.5%,P=0.012).The frequency of the C allele was also significantly higher in the pharmacoresistance group (57.6%) than that in the responsive group (44.4%,P=0.03).When patients were divided by types of seizure into three groups:generalized seizure group, partial seizure group, and undefined seizure group, the CC genotype and C allele were associated with pharmacoresistance in the partial seizure group. Conclusions In the southern Chinese, the CC genotype and C allele are associated with resistance to the antiepileptic treatment. This finding needs to be verified in studies with larger sample size.

OBJECTIVEGas chromatography (GC) was used to investigate the cellular fatty acid (CFA) composition of 141 Acinetobacter baumannii and 32 A. calcoaceticus isolates from different locations in China and to find chemical markers to differentiate these two closely related bacteria.
METHODSWhole cell fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) were obtained by saponification, methylation, and extraction for GC analysis, followed by a standardized Microbial Identification System (MIS) analysis.
RESULTSAll A. baumannii and A. calcoaceticus strains contained some major fatty acids, namely, 18:1 ω9c, 16:0, Sum In Feature 3, 12:0, 17:1ω8c, 3-OH-12:0, 17:0, Sum In Feature 2, 2-OH-12:0, and 18:0 compounds. Although most of the total CFAs are similar between A. baumannii and A. calcoaceticus strains, the ratios of two pairs of CFAs, i.e., Sum In Feature 3/18:1 ω9c versus 16:0/18:1 ω9c and Sum In Feature 3/18:1 ω9c versus unknown 12.484/18:1 ω9c fatty acids, could differentiate these two closely related bacteria. A. baumannii could be easily classified into two subgroups by plotting some ratios such as Sum In Feature 3/16:0 versus 17:0 and Sum In Feature 3/2-OH-12:0 versus 17:0 fatty acids.
CONCLUSIONThe ratios of some CFAs could be used as chemical markers to distinguish A. baumannii from A. calcoaceticus.

Chinese Journal of Contemporary Pediatrics 2018;20(8):691-696
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is an X-linked recessive hereditary disease caused by mutations in the DMD gene that encodes dystrophin. It is characterized by progressive muscle weakness and degeneration of skeletal muscle and myocardium due to the absence of dystrophin. The disease often occurs at the age of 2-5 years, and most children may die of heart failure or respiratory insufficiency at the age of around 20 years. At present, supportive therapy is often used in clinical practice to improve symptoms, but this cannot improve the outcome of this disease. The development of gene therapy brings new hope to the cure of this disease. This article summarizes gene replacement therapy for DMD, including the research advances in DMD gene transduction technology mediated by adeno-associated virus, utrophin protein upregulation technology, and clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat gene editing technology, and reviews the recommendations to solve the issues of adeno-associated viral load, long-term effective expression of transgenic products, and utrophin protein expression, in order to provide a reference for further research.

Objective To observe the dynamic changes of prevalence of Keshan disease (KD) in Hebei province from 1990 to 2007, to provide scientific basis for its prevention and treatment. Methods The surveillance data of KD was analyzed according to "the National Scheme of KD Surveillance and the Surveillance of KD" (W/T 78-1996) in Hebei province from 1990 to 2007 by the Institute for Prevention of Endemic Disease in Hebei Province Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The data included physical examination, electrocardiogram (ECG), the chest X-ray film of KD patients and the suspected patients, as well as selenium contents of hair collected in 1990, 1992 and 1999. Results No new cases of acute and subacute types of KD patients were found at the surveillance sites from 1990 to 2007. Thirty-five cases of new latent KD and one case of spontaneous chronic KD were identified respectively. Prevalence of chronic and latent KD ranged from 1.12% (8/713) to 8.18% (27/330) and 2.29% (19/831) to 8.20% (45/549) in Hebei province from 1990 to 2007, respectively. The prevalence of KD in children aged 3 - 14 years old and childbearing woman aged 20 - 45 years old decreased year by year, however population over 45 years old were more likely suffering from KD. The major abnormal changes of ECG in KD) patients were complete fight bundle branch block, ST-T change frequent premature ventricular contraction, and left anterior faseicular block. The prevalence of the heart enlargement in KD patients was 47.00% (211/449) averagely, and the prevalence of heart enlargement of medium grade increased remarkably after 2005 [28.57%(8/28) - 48.39%(15/31)]. The average mortality in chronic KD patients was 18.0%(18/100) from 1990 to 2007. Conclusions The prevalence of KD decreased slowly in Hebei province. Hebei province is still the region with higher prevalence of KD around the country, and the tasks of prevention and treatment of KD is still urgent. Enhancing the surveillance of of KD and carrying out management and treatment of KD patients should be emphasized in the future.

Ventricular remodeling is one of the main causes of heart failure. A large number of studies have shown that inflammation plays an important role in the occurrence and development of ventricular remodeling. Recent studies found that chronic inflammation mediated by T cells is closely related to the progression of ventricular remodeling. This review summarized the recent research progress of T lymphocyte subsets in ventricular remodeling.
