Chinese Journal of Hypertension 2006;0(08):-
Objective To investigate the changes in plasma levels of angiotensin Ⅱ, endothelin-1 and blood pressure fluctuation during light-dark alterative period in sinoaortic denervated (SAD) rats. Methods Seventy-two male Sprague-Dawley rats underwent SAD or sham operation at the age of 12 weeks. Twenty-four-hour blood pressure and blood pressure variability (BPV) were measured in conscious, unrestrained rats 4 weeks after operation. Rats were housed in a 12 h light/12 h dark cycle (LD 12:12) for at least 10 days, then the blood samples were taken every 4 h. The plasma levels of angiotensin Ⅱ and endothelin-1 were assayed by radioimmunoassay (RIA). Results No significant difference in SBP or DBP between SAD and sham-operated rats was found. Compared with sham-operated rats, SAD rats had greater SBPV and DBPV over 24 hours (SBPV: 13.8?4.2 vs control: 6.4?1.1, DBPV:11.5?3.1 vs control: 5.3?0.8 mm Hg, all P

Journal of Forensic Medicine 2013;29(6):434-436
OBJECTIVE:
To discuss the method of reducing error in estimating postmortem interval (PMI).
METHODS:
Two hundred and fifty-six solved murder cases from 2003 January to 2013 January in Changzhou and Nanjing City were collected, The PMI of all cases was estimated by traditional method and then compared with the real PMI obtained after the cases were solved. The cases were grouped according to the PMI, the accuracy was calculated, and the reasons of suboptimal PMI were analyzed.
RESULTS:
The accuracies of early PMI (less than 12h and 13-24 h) were 90% and 89%, respectively; while the accuracies of late PMI (1-7 d, 1-2 weeks, 3-4 weeks, 1-6 months, 7-12 months and 1-5 years) decreased over time, being 79%, 76%, 83%, 79%, 60% and 50%, respectively. The common reasons of estimating error included improper inference methods, water submerged body, extreme temperature, lack of objective evidence, intentionally abandoned body, and changed or destroyed scene, etc.
CONCLUSION
The multiple index data can reduce the error in estimating PMI.

Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 2004;0(10):-
OBJECTIVE To obtain the statistics of the resistance of Staphylococcus spp to 12 antibacterial agents. METHODS The clinical non-repeated isolates of Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase negative Staphylococcus(CNS) were collected in September 2004 in 13 hospitals of Anhui Province.According to National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards(NCCLS) of America(2004),agar dilution method was performed to determine the MICs of 12 antimicrobial agents against the isolates. RESULTS All S.aureus and 92.9% of CNS were resistant to penicillin respectively.Multi-resistance to antibiotics such as macrolides, and fluoroquinolones were found in these strains, and all the isolates of Staphylococcus spp were susceptible to vancomycin. CONCLUSIONS Staphylococcus spp exhibit some degrees of resistance to antimicrobial agents in Anhui Province. Therefore, the drug resistance of surveillance must be imposed, and we must emphasize on reasonable option of antimicrobial agents in clinical therapy in our area.

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(01):-
A microprocedure for the simultaneous determination of retinol and alpha-tocopherol in 100 ?l human plasma by reversed phase high pressure liquid chromatography without precolumn is detailed in this paper. A solvent system of methanol/water (96:4) provides clear separation of these two fat soluble vitamins. The chromatogram is complete in 12 min. The retinol and al-pha-tocopherol are quantitated by the peak height ratio and weight ratio method using retinyl acetate as an internal standard. The coefficient of variation of ten determinations is less than 5%. The mean recovery of four different concentrations of retinol and alpha-tocopherol are 102.2110.3% and 95.8?9.9% respectively. This microprocedure should be useful for assessment of the nutritional status of these two vitamins and might help to elucidate the relationship between them.

Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2008;27(5):330-332
Objective To explore the relationship between diabetic retinopathy (DR) and intima-media thickness in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients. Methods A total of 1236 diabetic subjects who were diagnosed within 1 year, including 218 older patients, were enrolled in the study. Intima-media thickness of the right common carotid artery and femoral artery were determined using B mode ultrasonography. All subjects were ophthalmologically examined. Results The intima-media thickness values of the carotid artery and femoral artery[(0.83 ± 0.11)mm, (0. 80 ±0.11)mm] in elderly DR group were higher than those [(0. 78±0.12)mm, (0.75±0.13)mm] in elderly non-DR group(P<0.05). The prevalences of DR in IMT≥0.8 mm group[20.6%: carotid artery, 18.6%: femoral artery] were higher than those in IMT< 0.8mm group [13.0%: carotid artery, 13.6%: femoral artery] (P<0. 05). Logistic regression analysis also showed DR was associated with IMT. Conclusions DR is associated with IMT in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients, and early changes of retinopathy are associated with increased IMT.
