Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 1996;5(6):249-251
3D ultrasound reconstruction in 63 cases of the solid space occupying lesions of liver was reported.Among them, there were 34 primary liver cancer,20 liver metastases and 9 cases hamangioma.By 30 imaging, the internal structure of the tumor could be visualized in 71%(45/63); the relation of the tumor to the surrounding vessels was apparent in 65%(41/63); the margin of the tumor could be outlined in 56%(35/63).The vesucts indicate that 3D ultrasound is superior to conventional 2D sonography to show more accurately the space localization, internal structure and morphology of the lesion thus provides meaningful imaging diagnostic evidences clinicaly.
4.Diagnosis and therapy of intra-abdominal hernia
Chinese Journal of General Surgery 1993;0(03):-
Objective To investigate the causes of intra-abdominal hernia and improve the level of early (diagnosis) and therapy of intra-abdominal hernia. Methods A retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 68 cases of intra-abdominal hernia was made. Results The postoperative confirmed diagnosis was para-occal hernia in 1 patient;herniation of efferent jejunal loop through the space between the afferent jejunal loop and the mesocolon after Billroth II gastrectomy in 6 patients, one of which had bowel necrosis, all of the 6 patients were cured after reduction of the hernia or enterectomy after and enteroanastomsis;internal henia though (ruptured) pelvic (peritoneum) after Miles operation in 4 patients;internal hernia though the space between the (descending) colon and the lateral abdominal wall after colostomy of descending colon in 6 patients;internal (hernia) caused by (adhesion) of omentum to the intestinal wall of sigmoidostomy in 1 patient;internal hernia through hiatuses caused by postoperative or post-peritonitis adhesions to the peritoneum, ovaries, urinary (bladder),uterus,(intestinal) wall or between loops of intestine in 50 patients(73.5%),including 3 cases of bowel (necrosis). All of those patients were cured after reduction of the hernias, repair of the hiatuses, release of (adhesions) or enterectomy and enteroanastomosis. Conclusions Preoperative diagnosis of internal abdominal hernia is difficult. The possibility of internal abdominal hernia should be cansidered in patients with a history of operation, and who complain of frequent abdominal pain or bowel obstruction.Early diagnosis and prompt (operation) is necessary to prevent the occurrence of bowel strangulation and bowel necrosis.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2005;9(39):186-187
BACKGROUND: Alendronate has been recently used for treating osteoporosis by inhibiting the activity of osteoclasts, but further clinical observation is necessary to compare its therapeutic effect with exclusive use of calcium supplement.OBJECTIVE: To observe the therapeutic effect of oral alendronate (tianke tablet) on the clinical symptoms and bone mineral density (BMD) of middle-aged and elderly patients for comparison with calcium gluconate.DESIGN: A self-controlled study and controlled trial with concurrent patients.SETTING: Department of Orthopedics, Shenzhen Hospital, Peking UniversityPARTICIPANTS: Sixty-eight middle-aged and elderly patients with osteoporosis were admitted in the Department of Orthopedics, Shenzhen Hospital of Peking University between July 1999 and July 2000. From these patients 62 at the age over 45 years without secondary osteoporosis were selected for this study, who were randomly divided into oral alendronate group (n=32) and oral calcium gluconate group (n=30).INTERVENTIONS: On the basis of comprehensive therapies, the patients in the alendronate group were given 10 mg alendronate daily and those in calcium gluconate group had 20 mL oral calcium gluconate solution (containing 100 mg calcium gluconate, equivalent to 9 mg calcium in every 10 mL) three times daily for three months. According to bodily pain relief, occurrence of new fracture and improvement in BMD, the therapeutic effect was assessed in three grades.RESULTS: Thirty patients in the alendronate group and 26 in the calcium gluconate group completed the study. Alendronate treatment for 3months significantly increased BMD of the patients [(0.716±0.082) g/cm2in comparison with that before treatment [(0.667±0.083) g/cm2, t= 2.473,P < 0.01], whereas the BMD underwent no obvious changes after treatment with calcium gluconate [(0.671±0.081) g/cm2 before vs (0.680±0.073) g/cm2after treatment, t=1.812, P > 0.05]. Significant difference in BMD after treatment was noted between the two groups (t=2.384, P < 0.01). The effective rate was significantly higher in alendronate group than in calcium gluconate group (X2=14.9, P=0.005), but 7 patients complained of abdominal discomfort in the former group and the patients in calcium gluconate group reported no adverse effects.CONCLUSION: Alendronate can inhibit bone absorption, promote the recovery of bone matrix, and increase the bone mass, producing better effect than exclusive use of calcium gluconate oral solution in treatment of the osteoporosis in the middle-aged and the elderly.

Chinese Journal of Behavioral Medicine and Brain Science 2014;23(1):33-36
Objective To explore the methods for estimating premorbid intelligence of patients with cerebral infarction. Methods Ten regression equations were employed to estimate intelligence quotients (IQs) of 74 patients and 74 demographically matched, healthy adults. Those valid estimated IQs were transformed into standard scores and adopted to evaluate the difference with don' t hold' subtests. Results In the healthy group, there were trivial difference between the estimated IQs and obtained IQs with mean discrepancy less than one and the correlation coefficients between them ranged from 0.755 to 0.956.However in the patients group, the estimated IQs were significantly higher than obtained IQs with mean discrepancy of 3.20-10.67.Mean estimated IQs of the patient group were lower than those of healthy group to varing degrees with mean discrepancy of 0.83-8.28,in which the mean IQs estimated just with demographic variables showed small between group effect size of 0.26,and so did IQs estimated with combination of demographic variables and performance on the Information or Figural Matrix (effect size:0.24 and 0.38 respectively). The latter two kinds of estimated IQs were adopted and transformed into standard scores to estimate premorbid intelligence. The two kinds of estimated normal scores of intelligence were higher than normal scores of the Digit Symbol (0.70 and 0.63 respectively) and the Block Design(0.67 and 0.61 respectively)in the patients group. As regarding the healthy group, the counterparts of discrepancies between estimates of intelligence and obtained scores were 0.21,0.21,0.12 and 0.12 respectively, which were significantly smaller than those in the patients group. Conclusion IQ estimated with combination of demographic variables and performance on the Information or Figural Matrix are suggested to estimate premorbid intelligence of patients with cerebral infarction.
