Objective: To explore the protective effects of zinc on learning and memory of mice suffering from acute repeated hypoxia. Method: 36 mice were divided into three groups randomly: normal control, saline+hypoxia (NS) group, zinc+hypoxia (Zinc) group. Model of acute repeated hypoxic mice was duplicated and the anoxia endurance was recorded. The step-through test and step-down test were used to evaluate the ability of learning and memory. Results: 1.Compared with saline+hypoxia group, the anoxia endurance was significantly increased in zinc+hypoxia group (P

Objective To investigate the role of p53, rasp21 and C-myc in gastric carcinogenesis. Methods Expression and distribution feature of p53, rasp21 and C-myc in 60 cases of human gastric cancer were detected with immunohistochemical SP (Streptavidin-Peroxidase) staining. Results The positive rate of expression was respectively 51.7% for p53, 40.0% for rasp21, and 66.7% for C-myc, while in the gastric mucous membrane adjacent to carcinoma they were respectively 1.6% for p53, 13.3% for rasp21, and 15.0% for C-myc. The differences in expression of p53, rasp21 and C-myc oncoproteins in carcinoma and non-carcinoma tissues were very significant (P

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(04):-
Objective: To explore the protection of taurine-zinic coordination compound(TZC) against the neurotoxicity of depleted uranium (DU). Method: Rats were exposed to DU by different dosages intratracheal instillation of DU particles. One group was supplemented with TZC. Learning times in Y-labyrinth experiment, number of somatostatin positive cortical neurons were compared. Results: Learning times in Y-labyrinth experiment were increased in DU groups, and DU 5mg+TZC group was less than that of DU 5 mg group (P

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(01):-
Objective: To explore the effects of zinc (Zn) on neuronal nitric oxide synathase (nNOS) and somatostatin(SS) in cerebral cortex of rats after sleep deprivation (SD), and discuss the protective mechanism of Zn on learning and memory. Method: SD was induced in male Wistar rats by employing “flower pot” technique. The rats in SD+Zn groups were supplemented with Zn in feed (containing 200 mg Zn/kg)for 3 d before SD. The number of nNOS and SS positive neurons in cortex of rats after different time of SD and Zn supplementation were observed. Results: nNOS and SS positive neurons in cortex significantly decreased in SD1 d+Zn group than in SD1d group(P0.05). Conclusion: Zinc can improve the ability of learning and memory of rats after sleep deprivation by protecting nNOS and SS positive neurons in cerebral cortex.
5.On academic thought and clinical application of LI Yan-Fang's middle-warmer energy method.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2010;30(10):856-857
The present paper introduces LI Yan-Fang's middle-warmer energy method from acupoint selection, needling methods, treatment principle and his clinical experiences in treatment of stroke and insomnia etc. The acupuncture prescription of this method consist of Shangwan (CV 13), Zhongwan (CV 12), Jianli (CV 11), Xiawan (CV 10), Shuifen (CV 9), Huangshu (KI 16) and Qihai (CV 6) etc as the main acupoints combined with strict manipulation and depth of needling to treat clinical diseases.

ObjectiveTo establish an ischemia-reperfusion model in cynomolgus macaques and to analyse the effects of edaravone intervention. MethodsA total of fifteen adult male cynomolgus macaques were randomly divided into three groups: sham operation (Sham group, n=3), ischemia-reperfusion model (Model group, n=6) and edaravone treatment (Edaravone group, n=6). Ischemic-reperfusion model of cynomolgus macaques was established by clamping the M1 branch of the left cerebral artery for 1 h. After 2 h of reperfusion, the animals in Edaravone group were injected with 0.5 mg/kg edaravone intravenously for intervention treatment, while the animals in Sham and Model groups were injected with an equal volume of normal saline intravenously, twice a day, from the 2nd to 7th day. The behavioral video recordings, clinical observations and neurological deficit scores of cynomolgus macaques were obtained, and brain edema volume and cerebral ischemia volume were statistically analyzed. ResultsCompared with the Sham group, the animals in Model group showed typical symptoms of ischemic stroke, with a significant increase in the neurological deficit score, the volumes of edema and infarct of brain tissue (all P<0.01). Compared with Model group, the neurological deficit score, the volumes of edema and infarct of brain tissue were significantly reduced in Edaravone group (all P<0.05). ConclusionAn animal model of ischemia-reperfusion in cynomolgus macaques was successfully established, and edaravone was confirmed to alleviate the damage caused by ischemia-reperfusion.
