Objective To explore effect of hyperoxia and amygdalin on surfactant associated protein messenger RNA levels of alveolar epithelial cells of premature rat lung. Methods Type Ⅱ alveolar epithelial cells (AECⅡ) were gained by primary culture from 19-days fetal rat lung. After purified,AECⅡ were randomly assigned to four groups and exposed to air or hyperoxia: air group (group Ⅰ),hyperoxia group (group Ⅱ),air plus amygdalin group (group Ⅲ),hyperoxia plus amygdalin group (group Ⅳ),Groups Ⅱ、Ⅳ were flushed the flake with 95% oxygen-5% CO 2 at 3 L/min for 10 min,then sealed and cultured for 24 hours. Groups Ⅲ,Ⅳ were added 200 ?mol/L of amygdalin at the same time. All groups were in CO 2 culture chamber (37 ℃,5% CO 2) for 24 hours,cells were harvested and extracted for total RNA by Trizol reagent. mRNA levels of SP were measured by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Objective To improve the diagnostic level of uncommon hepatic malignancy in 5 cases with different histopathological nature by analyzing their CT features. Methods CT scan was performed in 5 cases with pathologically proved uncommon malignancy of the liver including hepatic sarcoma ( n =3) and primary carcinoid tumor ( n =2). Results These uncommon malignancies of the liver had a variety of presentations. Undifferentiated embryonal sarcoma presented as a single huge cyst mixing with solid mass. Hepatic angiosarcoma demonstrated as multiple well defined hypoattenuation lesions without cirrhosis. Necrosis, cystic degeneration, and hemorrhage may be accompanied. Malignant fibrous histiocytoma displayed as a single large hypoattenuation lesion within hyperdense septations, and most of the tumor was in the right lobe. Immunohistochemistry had the diagnostic value. The CT features of carcinoid tumor were single or multiple, unilocular or multilocular mixed dense masses. The solid portion of the masses enhanced obviously and carcinoid syndrome may highly suggest the diagnosis. Conclusion The forementioned 5 cases of hepatic malignancy are seldomly seen clinically. Each of them with different pathologic nature has different CT findings, and sometimes with some similar signs. Typical CT findings, coupled with clinical information may lead to a correct diagnosis.

Objective:To probe into if human molecular adjuvant hC3d3 promote the immunogenicity of hCG? antigen to human immuno-competent cells on the basis of fusion protein.Methods:The isolated B cells, the combination of B cells and T cells, PBMC and Raji cells were treated in vitro respectively with 1, 10 and 100 nmol/L hCG?, hCG?-hC3d3 or PWM for 8-12 days. The cell proliferation was determined by incorporation of [3H] thymidine. The Ig levels in the 12-day culture supernatants were measured by indirect ELISA. The Ig-secreting cells in the 10-day cultured lymphocytes were detected by the enzyme-linked immunospot(ELISPOT) assay.Results:It was found that the proliferation of B cells, the combined B and T cells, PBMC and Raji following exposure to hCG?-C3d3 fusion protein was significantly higher than that of hCG? alone. The levels of total Ig the in 12-day culture supernatants of B cell, the combined B and T cells, and PBMC treated with 100 nmol/L hCG?-C3d3 fusion protein were 4-fold, 10-fold and 10.85-fold more than that of hCG? alone. The Ig-secreting cells were significantly increased after treated with hCG?-C3d3 fusion protein compared to the hCG? alone.Conclusion:The human molecular adjuvant hC3d3 improves the immunogenicity of hCG? in human immuno-competent cells if fused to the antigen.

Objective To study the anti-inflammatory effects of idazoxan (IDA) on endotoxin lipopolysaccharide (LPS) challenged mice in vivo and activated macrophages in vitro,and explore its potential molecular mechanisms.Methods To do the experiments in vivo,30 adult male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into control group,model group,and low,medium and high doses IDA groups (IDA-L,IDA-M,and IDA-H groups),n =6 in each group.The inflammatory model was reproduced by intraperitoneal injection of LPS 10 mg/kg,and the control group was injected with the same amount of normal saline.The IDA groups received LPS (10 mg/kg) and IDA 0.3,1.0 and 3.0 mg/kg,respectively.The blood samples of mice in each group were collected at 6 hours after the reproduction of the model.For the in vitro experiments,primary peritoneal macrophages were collected from 20 adult male C57BL/6 mouse cells and they were divided into control group,LPS group (10 mg/L) and LPS+IDA-L,IDA-M,IDA-H groups (10 mg/L LPS + 5,25,100 μmol/L IDA,respectively).Cell culture supernatants were collected at 24 hours after the reproduction of the model.Detection methods:enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to determine the levels of serum tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α),interleukin-6 (IL-6),monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1) and nitric oxide (NO).Western Blot was used to determine the effect of IDA on the expression levels of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) in macrophages.Results ① For the in vivo experiment,the serum levels of TNF-α and IL-6 were significantly elevated in the model group as compared with those in the control group [TNF-o (ng/L):403.96 ± 40.98 vs.17.50 ± 8.68;IL-6 (ng/L):61 400.31 ± 7 826.61 vs.2 436.30 ± 448.89;both P ＜ 0.01].IDA treatment could inhibit the elevation of inflammatory cytokines in a dose-dependent manner,with the most significant decrease in LPS+IDA-H group [TNF-α (ng/L):170.09 ± 28.53 vs.403.96 ± 40.98,IL-6 (ng/L):16 570.81 ± 1 083.65 vs.61 400.31± 7 826.61;both P ＜ 0.01].② For the in vitro experiment,the levels of TNF-α,IL-6,MCP-1,and NO secreted by LPS-stimulated macrophages were distinctly higher in the LPS group than those in the control group [TNF-α (ng/L):7 259.14 ± 320.70 vs.28.50±27.08,IL-6 (ng/L):14809.60±5852.73 vs.1 113.47±465.53,MCP-1 (ng/L):20847.37± 1 788.33 vs.447.37± 395.69,NO (μmol/L):1 900.00 ± 144.31 vs.603.03 ± 102.18;all P ＜ 0.01].However,IDA intervention could lower the secretion of TNF-α,IL-6,MCP-1 and NO in a dose-dependent manner,with the most notable decrease in the LPS+IDA-H group [TNF-α (ng/L):784.40±281.90 vs.7259.14±320.70,IL-6 (ng/L):1 802.96± 1 534.18 vs.14 809.60± 5 852.73,MCP-1 (ng/L):2005.26± 1 534.28 vs.20847.37 ± 1 788.33,NO (μ mol/L):654.54± 150.21 vs.1 900.00 ± 144.31;all P ＜ 0.05].In addition,IDA at the concentration of 100 μmol/L could promote the translocation of NF-κBp65 in macrophages into the nucleus 15 minutes early and lead to increased NF-κBp65 expression (gray value:18.70 ± 2.29 vs.1.09 ± 0.36,P ＜ 0.05),hut significantly reduce the expression levels of NF-κBp50 in the nucleus at 45 minutes after treatment (gray value:1.99 ± 0.14 vs.2.94 ± 0.54,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions IDA could significantly reduce inflammation of mice challenged with LPS and inhibit inflammatory cytokines and mediators secreted by macrophage in a dose-dependent manner.High concentration of IDA (100 μmol/L) exhibited the greatest anti-inflammatory effects.The anti-inflammatory effect of IDA may be worked through NF-κB signaling pathway.

Objective To explore the current status of sexual education and real needs of college freshmen in Kunming.Methods By applying random sampling,350 students from three universities in Kunming were investigated by seff-administered questionnaire,and 310 valid questionnaires were recovered.Fesults 23.9％ students confirmed that the schools do not provide courses related to sexual health,and 22.9％ of the surveyed students claimed that they even did not heard any sexual education courses in their schools.The main sources of students to acquire information in terms of sexuality and sexual health are network television,video magazines,friends and classmates.Both male and female students are more acceptable to carry out sex education lectures.There were significant differences between male and female students in the form of obtaining sexual education,the content of sexual education and the demand of sexual education in three aspects (P＜0.05).Girls tend to carry out sexual education in the form of major courses,but boys tend to the form of playing video or distributing books and periodicals (P＜0.05).Girls tend to obtain the courses on sexually disease,AIDS,heterosexual intercourse,or love psychology,but boys tend to contraceptive knowledge and skilIs,or Sexual value orientation (P＜0.05).Girls are more likely to acquire the knowledge of masturbation,sexual health,or sexual health,but boys prefer to the knowledge of sexual psychology,parasexuality,or homosexuality (P＜0.05).Conclusion As a main body of educational institute for young people,all universities should provide training courses related to sexuality and sexual health at the early stage of higher education in order to equip college students with essential knowledge and skills to have safer and positive impact on their college studies.

Aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) is a ligand-activated transcription factor, which can be ac-tivated by the binding of exogenous atyl hydrocarbon chemicals, then increase many metabolic enzymes and their activity, and oncogenic products of metabolism increase, ultimately resulting in occurrence of tumor. Herein, we mainly review the fundamental concept of AHR and its relationship with tumor.

Objective To investigate the blood glucose changes in critically ill patients taken continuous renal replacement therapy(CRRT)before treatment and at different time points after treatment. Methods Sixtyseven critically ill patients were enrolled in the study,of whom 13 cases were treated conventionally and assigned as pre-treatment control group,while the other 54 cases undertook CRRT were assigned as CRRT group. The CRRT group were further sub-divided into four groups according to CRRT time((CRRT time ＜6 h group(n = 18),CRRT time of 6 - 12 h group(n = 18),CRRT time ＞ 12 h group(n = 18);or sub-divided into two groups according to circulating blood temperature(≤ 36. 5 ℃ group(n =27)and ＞ 36. 5 ℃ group(n =27));or sub-divided into two groups by sugar substitute fluid replacement solution as the formula group(the standard level of sugar content was 6. 9 mmol/L(n = 27)and sugar-free replacement fluid group(n = 27);or sub-divided into two groups according to the Glasgow Coma score(GCS)(GCS ≤ 8 points group(n = 24)and GCS ＞ 8 group(n = 30). Blood glucose level at different time points were measured. Results The longer CRRT cycle time,lower temperature,sugar substitute fluid replacement fluid worse GCS score corresponded to more dramatic blood glucose fluctuation at different time points in CRRT group,and it took longer time for them to recover to normal blood sugar level Conclusions During the CRRT process insulin secretion was suppressed and led to increase of blood sugar. In most cases the blood glucose returns to normal after CRRT treatment over time,but a small number of cases require clinical intervention.
