Choriocarcinoma is a highly malignant trophoblastic tumor and is propagated by blood -borne.The diagnosis of choriocarcinoma is based on its histopathologic appearance and a high serum level of hu -man chorionic gonadotropin(HCG).To report a case on multiple organ metastasis of choriocarcinoma ,we retro-spectively analyzed the treatment by reviewing the interrelated articles to analyse the clinical characteristics and treatment of choriocarcinoma .

Chinese Circulation Journal 2017;32(3):284-287
Objective: To evaluate the applications and problems of statistical methods for articles published in《Chinese Circulation Journal》. Methods: We reviewed the statistical methods for original articles published in《Chinese Circulation Journal》in 2010, 2011 and 2015; general status with problems was analyzed and the situations were compared among different years. Results: A total of 404 articles were enrolled, statistical hypothesis testing was performed in 366 of them, 32 had descriptive statistics only and 6 articles were meta-analysis. The most frequently used statistical methods were student'st-test (57.4%), followed by chi-squared analysis (56.7%), analysis of variance (35.2%) and regression analysis (23.0%). The main statistical problems in Methods included in described method un-matched to really used method and insufifcient or wrong description. The proportion of insufifcient or wrong description in 2010 and 2011 was 36.6% (71/194), while in 2015 was 26.2% (55/210),P=0.02. The major wrong application of statistical approach was ignoring design with improper method and using unsatisifed precondition for speciifc analysis. The proportion of improper statistical method application in 2010 and 2011 was 19.1% (33/173), in 2015 was 19.7% (38/193),P=0.88. Conclusion: The quality of statistics was improved in 2015 than 2010 and 2011 for articles published in《Chinese Circulation Journal》; while there were still problems at certain degree, enhanced statistical review should be conducted in medical journals.

Objective To explore the clinical value of expression levels of serum COX-2 in patients with advanced NSCLC before and after EGFR-TKI treatment. Methods The serum was collected from 58 cases. Before and after targeted therapy , the serum COX-2 level was examined by ELISA. Meanwhile , CT scan was exercised to evaluate the treatment. Follow-up interview was done. The relationship among the change in expression level of serum COX-2 , efficacy and PFS was analyzed. Results The serum COX-2 level significantly decreased in the response group (t = 11.258, P = 0.000) and increased in the PD group (t = -7.759, P =0.000) after EGFR-TKI treatment, and not significantly changed in the SD group (t = 1.424, P = 0.170). Before treatment, the baseline serum COX-2 level in the response group was significantly higher than that in the SD group and the PD group (F = 20.852, P = 0.000 ). Before the targeted therapy, the higher the level of serum COX-2 was, the longer PFS patients would enjoy. Conclusion Detection of the serum COX-2 contributes to the judgment of therapeutic effect of EGFR-TKI and can be used as a prediction of EGFR-TKI drugs outcomes for patients with advanced NSCLC.

Objective To investigate the impacts of pyruvate kinase M2 isoform (PKM2) silencing on the radiosensitivity of lung adenocarcinoma cell line (A549 cells) and the radiation synergy of xenografts, and to explore their mechanisms. Methods Plasmid pshRNA?PKM2 for interference with PKM2 expression was transfected into A549 cells, and empty vector?transfected cells and untransfected cells were set as con?trols. The silencing efficiency of pshRNA?PKM2 and the expression level of microtubule?associated protein 1 light chain 3(LC3) were measured by Western blot assay. The radiosensitizing effects in A549 cells and xen?ografts after PKM2 silencing were determined by colony?forming assay and xenografts growth curves. Autoph?agy formation in A549 cells and xenografts was analyzed by transmission electron microscopy, and the ex?pression level of PKM2 in xenografts was measured by immunohistochemistry. Comparison between groups was made by Student′s t?test, and the body weights of nude mice and xenograft volumes were subjected to a?nalysis of variance for continuous variables. Results Stable A549 cell lines transfected with pshRNA?PKM2 were successfully produced. Transfection with pshRNA?PKM2 significantly down?regulated PKM2 expression in A549 cells and xenografts (P= 0?? 001;P= 0?? 000). The sensitizer enhancement ratios for A549 cells and xenografts were 1?? 47 and 2?? 00, respectively. Interference with PKM2 expression enhanced radiation?in duced autophagy formation and significantly increased the ratio of LC 3 ? II / I ( P= 0.000 1 ) . Conclusions Silencing of PKM2 expression may enhance the radiosensitivity of A549 cells and xenografts by regulation of autophagy, which holds promise for becoming an effective radiosensitizing target for non?small cell lung canc?er, but still needs to be confirmed by further studies.

Retrospective analysis of multi-slice computed tomography (MSCT) manifestations were conducted for 8 cases of pathologically confirmed primary pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma. And the relevant literature was also reviewed. The lesion sites were right upper lobe (n =5),lower lobe (n =2) and left upper lobe (n =1).One case was difficult to distinguish because of its huge mass and the remainder was all peripheral. With pseudocapsule (n =4),coarse calcification (n =1),hilar & mediastinal node metastasis (n =2) and cavity (n =1).The manifestations included extensive lung alveolar septal thickening & ground glass (n =1) and massive deep leaf & glitches (n =2).The scans were non-enhanced alone (n =1) and non-enhanced & enhanced (n =7).Six cases had shaped enhancement while another 5 uneven thickness of annular enhancement. And 4 cases had floating-ice change.Primary pulmonary sarcomatoid carcinoma is common in subpleural lung lobe. And the floating-ice sign is valuable in the diagnosis of sarcomatoid carcinoma.

Liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs) are the highest proportion of liver non-parenchymal cells with fenestrae structure and high endocytic ability maintaining liver homeostasis and playing an indispensable role in the physiology and patholo-gy of the liver.LSECs are involved in the regulation of patholog-ical process in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),alco-holic fatty liver(AFL),hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),liverregeneration and liver fibrosis mainly via antiinflammation, endocytosis, secretion of angiocrine signals and maintaining thequiescence phenotype of HSCs.This review highlights the physiological function of LSECs and the different roles in different pathological conditions, which aims to provide a new perspectivefor the treatment of liver diseases through targeting LSECs.
