OBJECTIVE: To probe into cognition of medical staff about TCM injection and iatrogenic factors of ADR caused by TCM injection in order to provide reference for rational use of TCM injection.METHODS: The cognition of 100 pharmacists and 100 nurses in 6 hospitals about TCM injection were surveyed using questionnaire.The results of survey were analyzed statistically.RESULTS: Most of the utilization of TCM injection was standardised.A small number of inappropriate utilization of TCM injection should be improved.CONCLUSION: Clinical pharmacists need to further improve their knowledge on TCM injection because of false cognition to avoid iatrogenic factors of ADR induced TCM injection and promote rational use of TCM injection.

Objective To observe the clinical effect of procedure for prolaps and hemofrhoids (PPH) in treatment of mixed hemorrhoids combined with non-functional obstructed defecation syndromes (ODS).Methods The clinical data of 50 patients with mixed hemorrhoids combined with non-functional ODS treated by PPH were retrospectively analysed.All these patients were followed up for 12 months,the treatment outcome was observed.Results Eleven cases were basic cured,apparently effective in 12 cases,and effective in 12 cases,invalid in 15 cases,the total effective rate was 70％ (35/50),inefficacy patients were mainly combined with rectocele.None patients had serious complications such as death,anastomotic infection and pelvic sepsis.Conclusion PPH convenient operation,small trauma,for the treatment of mixed hemorrhoids combined with internal rectal prolapse is safe and effective,but the effective is poorer in treatment of mixed hemorrhoids combined with rectocele.

AIM: To establish a method for determination of hydrochlorothiazide and rutin in Zhenjujiangya Tablets(Flos Chrysanthemi Indici, hydrochlorothiazide, rutin, etc.) by HPLC. METHODS: HPLC was used with Spherisorb C 18 (4.6mm?250mm 5?m) column 0.05mol?L -1 citric acid acetonitrile(80∶20) (adjusted the mixture with triethylaminum to pH 4.1?0.1) was used as a mobile phase. The flow rate was 1.0mL?min -1 . The detection wavelength was at 270nm. RESULTS: The linear response range lay in 10～50?g?mL -1 of hydrochlorothiazide( r =0.9994 n =5) and 40～200?g?mL -1 of rutin( r =0.999 n =5), respectively. The average recoveries of hydrochlorothiazide and rutin were 99.8% and 99.5%, respectively. CONCLUSION: This method is rapid, accurate and suitable for the determination of the two constitutents in the compound tablets.

Objective To describe and explore the practice of eye care in ICU,in order to make a specified training plan and guideline on eye care,and to improve the skill in eye care of ICU nurses. Methods A survey was conducted in 92 ICU nurses from 2 general hospitals in Huizhou city with non-random sampling using a self- made questionnaire to investigate their eye care of patients. Results The nursing practice of eye care in ICU was urged to be improved,there was no standard on eye care. Conclusions The knowledge of ICU nurses needs to be enhanced,and guideline on eye care is urged to be worked out,so that practice of eye care would be improved.

Objective To retrospectively investigate the characteristics of patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)in last 10 years in Kunming city. Methods Four hundred and thirty consecutive patients with IBD, who had hospitalized in 7 hospitals between January 1998 to March 2007, were investigated. Among them, 379 patinets had ulcerative colitis (UC) and 51 had Crohn's disease (CD). The patients who received coloscopy, histopathological and bariam enema examination accunted for 98.2%, 56.2% and 2.6% in UC group,respectively, and 72.5%,78.4% and 31.4% in CD group,respectively. The gender, age, occupation and the clinical manifestation of the patients, and the results of the colonoscopy and pathological examination were analyzed. Results Most of the UC patients were aged 30 to 39 years and 50 to 59 years with average age of (46.9±15.8) years, whereas CD patients were aged 20 to 29 years with average age of (41.6±17.2)years. The male and urban patients were predominat in both UC and CD groups. Mental workers were common in UC group. The symptoms of diarrhea (302,79.7%), abdominal pain (285,75.2%) and bloody stools (290,76.5%) were major events in UC patients, and those of abdominal pain (44,86.3%), diarrhea (28,54.9%) and weight loss (28,54.9%) were major events in CD patients. The coincidence ratio among colonoseopy, histopathology and bariam enema examinations was 88.4 % ( 329/372 ), 24.4 % ( 52/213 ) and 4/10 in UC patients, respectively, and 86.5%(32/37), 27.5%(11/40) and 75%(12/16) in CD patients, respectively. All of the UC patients were in active stage of disease,including 38.3 % in mild,42.2% in moderate and 19.5% in severe. In CD group, 7.8% was in relief stage and 92.2% in active stage,including 15.7% in mild,43.1% in morderate and 41.2% in severe.Conclusion The understanding of prevalence and clinical characteristics of IBD in last 10 years in Kunming city will be helpful in diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

To investigate the influence of Drynaria total flavonoids on proliferation and apoptosis of osteoblasts in tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)- mediated medium, so as to explore the mechanism of Drynaria total flavonoids in preventing and treating osteoporosis of rheumatoid arthritis.

A 41-year-old man presented with recurrent pustules and scales on both hands and feet for 1year and with neoplasm on the left toe for 4 months.On physical examination,there were multiple irregular rufous patches with lamellar white scales on bilateral thumbs,forefingers,thenar eminence,toes,and the onethird anterior part of bilateral soles.Deep-seated pustules and vesicles arising on some erythematous patches were disrupted with the formation of punctiform or patches of erosions covered by yellow brown crusts.Some toenails and fingernails were thickened and deformed.An obviously tender neoplasm measuring 4 cm × 3.5 cm× 3.5 cm was observed in the anterior part of the left fourth toe,which was a little indurated and obviously tender with superficial erosion,large amount of purulent exudates and fresh granulation tissue mixing to form black and thick blood crusts on the surface.Biopsy of the nail bed of the right index finger and neoplasm on the left toe revealed a diffuse,dense,and mixed infiltrate of small- to medium-sized atypical lymphocytes and a few inflammatory cells.Meanwhile,epidermotropism and Pautrier's microabscess were visible.Immunohistochemistry showed that the abnormal lymphocytes were positive for leukocyte common antigen (LCA),Vimentin,CD3,CD45RO,CD4,Bcl-2,partly positive for CD8,CD5,CD10,Ki-67 (＞ 80％ ),but negative for CD79a,CD20,CD30,cytokeratin,S-100,Bc1-6,anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK),HMBMS,CD1a or P63.Based on the above findings,a diagnosis of mycosis fungoides palmaris et plantaris was made.

Objective To investigate the prevalence of multidrug resistant genes in Klebsiella pncumoniae.MethodsTwenty strains of multidrug resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae were isolated from burn patients.Susceptibility of these strains to 14 antibiotics was detected by KB method.PCR was used to detect oqxA,smrKpn,qacE,tehA,mdfA and qacEΔl-sul1 genes.ResultsThe antibiotic sensitivity rates of 20 multidrug resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates to antibiotics tested were ＜ 30％ except that to imipenam.The positive rates of efflux pump genes mdfA,qacEΔl-sull and oqxA were 65％,100％ and 100％,respectively; while those ofsmrKpn,qacE and tehA were 0％,0％ and 15％.ConclusionoqxA gene has been detected in multidrug resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae from burn patients with high positive rate.

The TCM acupuncture education for foreign students is complicated and technical work.The writer discusses the modern teaching methods recently to aim directly at the problems in the traditional teaching methods in foreign students education,analyzes and compares the connotation and teaching mode of these teaching methods,and at last puts forward that we should choose correct teaching method according to the actuality to improve the teaching quality for foreign students in TCM acupuncture.

AIM:To explore the effects of confluent endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) derived from young and aged rats on the phenotype conversion, proliferation and migration of vascular smooth muscle cells ( SMCs) .METH-ODS:Mononuclear cells were obtained from the bone marrow of young (1~2 month old) and aged (19 to 26 month old) Sprague-Dawley rats and cultured with medium DMEM/F12 ( containing 15% fetal bovine serum, endothelial cell growth supplements (ECGs) 100 g/L, 1 ×105 units/L of penicillin and streptomycin, respectively).EPCs were characterized as double positive for DiI-Ac-LDL uptake and lectin binding.Abdominal aorta was obtained from 1 to 2 month old Sprague-Dawley rats.Vascular SMCs were cultured by tissue explant method and identified byα-SM-actin immunofluorescence.In transwell co-culture system, the confluent EPCs located in the upper chamber and SMCs were seeded on the lower cham-ber.The experiments were divided into passage 3 SMCs group (P3), passage 4 SMCs group (P4), passage 4 SMCs co-culture with EPCs derived from young rats group (P4YE) and passage 4 SMCs co-culture with EPCs derived from aged rats group (P4AE).The protein expression ofα-SM-actin and osteopontin was detected by Western blotting.[3H]-TdR incor-poration assay was used to determine the proliferation.SMC migration was analyzed by scratch wound healing assay.RE-SULTS:Compared with P3 group,α-SM-actin expression in P4 group significantly decreased and osteopontin protein ex-pression obviously increased, whereas no significant change was found in P4YE group.Compared with P4 group, confluent EPCs derived from young and aged rats both markedly increased α-SM-actin and decreased osteopontin expression in P4 SMCs.Compared with aged rat-derived EPCs, young rat-derived EPCs were more effectively to induce a delayed SMC phe-notype transition (from contractile phenotype to a synthetic phenotype), and to inhibit SMC proliferation and migration. CONCLUSION:Co-culture of confluent EPC induces a delayed vascular SMC phenotype transition and inhibits SMCs pro-liferation and migration.Young rat derived EPCs are more effective to induce a delayed vascular SMC phenotype transition and has stronger inhibitory effects on SMCs proliferation and migration compared with that derived from aged rats.
