Chitosan-based microspheres use chitosan as the main material to obtain particles with special structures through microsphere processing technology. They have the ability of slow and controlled release of drugs and the role of scaffolding, which have great application prospect in stomatology, but the application of chitosan-based microspheres is still in the research stage and has not yet been applied in clinical practice. This article reviews progress of domestic and foreign research on chitosan-based microspheres, in aspects of treatment of oral and jawbone tissue defects, periodontal diseases, dental pulp diseases and nerve tissue injury, in order to provide reference for follow-up research.

Objective To determine the correlative factors with recurrence of endometriosis after conservative surgery Methods A cohort study was performed on 285 patients who had a minimum of 36 months of follow up after conservative surgery for endometriosis All patients underwent clinical interview, physical examination and ultrasonography The factors measured included: age at surgery, age at onset of disease, gravidity, parity, tenderness nodule at cul de sac (yes/no), uterus mobility (movable/fixed), serum CA 125 level, type of operation (laparoscopy/laparotomy), history of operation for endometriosis (yes/no), side of endometrioma (left/right/bilateral), intraoperative revised classification American Fertility Society (r AFS) scores, post operative r AFS scores, highest post operative temperature, post operative adjuvant therapy, post operative gravidity and parity The recurrent rate and its predictive factors were evaluated and the univariate, multivariate COX regression and Kaplan Meier analyses were performed to determine the predictive factors for recurrence of endometriosis Results The related factors and their odds ratio( OR ) by univariate analysis were as follows: history of endometriosis surgery, 13 630( P

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the surgery in simple ovarian cysts.
METHODSFrom Jan. 1994 to Dec. 1999, 221 women with simple ovarian cysts were admitted into our hospital. The diameter of cysts was < 5 cm in 76 cases, and was > or = 5 cm in 145 cases ultrasonically. One hundred and eighty-four patients underwent laparoscopy, and thirty-seven underwent laparotomy.
RESULTSHistological findings showed no malignancy in this series. Simple cysts, paraovarian cysts and corpus luteum were found histologically in 90.8% of cases with cysts < 5 cm, and 60% of those with cysts > 7 cm respectively, their difference was significant (chi2=37.13, P<0.001). The simple cysts, paraovarian cysts and corpus luteum cysts were found in 81.5% of postmenopausal women and 84.0% of premenopausal women.
CONCLUSIONPatients with cysts > 7 cm are indicated for surgical procedures, while a period of followup is acceptable for patients with cysts < 7 cm, and surgery is advisable if the cyst is persistent during followup. Postmenopausal women with cysts should have operations.

A reliable UPLC-MS method was developed for the simultaneous determination of 4 chemicals (Sudan Ⅰ, tetrabromobisphenol A, tris ( 1, 3-dichloroisopropyl ) phosphate and tris ( chlorisopropyl ) Phosphate) in children products. The samples were ultrasonic extracted with acetonitrile, and then the four chemicals were separated on a C18 column in 3 min. Results showed that the limit of quantification of the method was between 5 and 500μg/kg. The calibration curves were linear within 2-3 orders of magnitude with typical correlation coefficient above 0 . 9995 . The recoveries ranged from 83 . 7% to 97 . 8% with three addition levels. The sensitivity, recovery and selectivity of the method could fully meet the requirements of practical work.

Objective To determine the association of articular cartilage (AC) levels of YKL-40 with osteoarthritis (OA) at different stages of symptomatic severity in patients with knee OA.Methods 42 patients with knee OA were recruited into this study. The radiographic disease severity of OA was assessed by the Kellgren-Lawrence (K-L) grading system.11 patients with non knee OA were selected as normal control group.AC levels of YKL -40 were explored by immunohistochemical method.Symptomatic severity was determined using Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Arthritis Index (WOMAC) scores from OA patients. Results YKL-40 levels in AC were positively related to WOMAC pain, function scores and total scores.WOMAC stiffness scores did not correlated with YKL-40 concentrations in AC.The correlation between AC YKL-40 levels and WOMAC scores was further analyzed by multinomial logistic regression.Multiple regression analysis showed that the correlation between AC YKL-40 levels and WOMAC scores was still significant after adjusting for other confounding factors.AC YKL-40 levels were significantly correlated with K-L grading in patients with knee OA.Conclusions YKL-40 in AC can be used as a potential biomarker for assessing the symptomatic severity of OA.

Anti-seizure medications (ASMs) are the main therapy for epilepsy. There are many kinds of ASMs with complex mechanism of action, so it is difficult for pharmacists to examine prescriptions. This paper put forward some suggestions on the indications, dosage forms/routes of administration, appropriateness of usage and dosage, combined medication and drug interaction, long-term prescription review, individual differences in pathophysiology of children, and drug selection when complicated with common epilepsy, for the reference of doctors and pharmacists.
