Objective To understand the epidemiological characteristic of committing suicide and to provide the scientific evidence for prevention and crisis intervention.Method A descriptive epidemiological method was employed to analyze the data of 153 individuals of committing suicide successfully saved by doctors of Emergency Department of Gongli Hospital,Pudong New Area,Shanghai. Results Female suicide committers were predominent over male ones,in the ratio 4.6 to 1.Most of the suicide committers were adolescents who had only received junior high school education. The major social support system of the suicide attempters was family support. The majority,of the suicide committers tried to kill themselves by drug ingestion such as hypnotice, sedatives and pesticides, and most of them haven't resorted to psychological counseling. Conclusions It is necessary to pay more attention to the psychological education of adolescents, and popularize the knowledge of psychological counseling in rural areas where are lack of psychological sense among pelple.Emergency department of general hospital which saves suicide committers is playing an important role in suicide prevention and crisis intervention.

Objective To compare the safety and efficacy of 23-Gauge pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) and PPV combined with scleral buckling-PPV (SB-PPV) in proliferative rhegmatogenous retinal detachments with inferior breaks. Methods Retrospectively nonrandomized clinical case study was conducted in 70 patients with proliferative rhegmatogenous retinal detachment associated with inferior breaks between January 2013 and December 2016,including 39 eyes receiving SB-PPV procedures as the SB-PPV group and 31 eyes undergoing PPV procedures as the PPV group. And anatomical success rate for one procedure, lens trauma rate, retinotomy rate, postoperative best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) outcome and intraocular pressure (IOP) were recorded and analyzed. Results The anatomical success rate for one procedure was 92.3% (36/ 39) in the SB-PPV group and 74.2% (23/31) in the PPV group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.035).The lens trauma rate was 2.6% (1/39) in the SB-PPV group and 19.4% (6/31) in PPV group, with the difference being statistically significant (P <0.05).The retinotomy rate was 5.1% (2/39) in the SB-PPV group and 32.3% (10/31) in the PPV group, and the difference approached statistically significance (P <0.05).There was no significant difference in the postoperative BCVA and IOP between the two groups (both P > 0.05).Conclusion SB-PPV can increase the anatomical success rate for one procedure in patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment associated with inferior breaks, and reduce retinotomy rate and lens trauma rate.

OBJECTIVES:
To study the survival rate and the incidence of complications of very preterm infants and the factors influencing the survival rate and the incidence of complications.
METHODS:
The medical data of the very preterm infants with a gestational age of <32 weeks and who were admitted to the Department of Neonatology in 11 hospitals of Jiangsu Province in China from January 2018 to December 2019 were retrospectively reviewed. Their survival rate and the incidence of serious complications were analyzed. A multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the risk factors for death and serious complications in very preterm infants.
RESULTS:
A total of 2 339 very preterm infants were enrolled, among whom 2 010 (85.93%) survived and 1 507 (64.43%) survived without serious complications. The groups with a gestational age of 22-25
CONCLUSIONS
The survival rate is closely associated with gestational age in very preterm infants. A low 1-minute Apgar score (≤3) may increase the risk of death in very preterm infants, while high gestational age, high birth weight, and prenatal use of glucocorticoids are associated with the reduced risk of death. A low 5-minute Apgar score (≤3) and maternal chorioamnionitis may increase the risk of serious complications in these infants, while high gestational age and high birth weight may reduce the risk of serious complications.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the effect and safety of phloroglucinol combined with parecoxib on cystospasm after transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP).
METHODSWe conducted a prospective randomized case-control study on 98 patients treated by TURP. After operation, the patients were randomly assigned to a treatment (n=50) and a control group (n=48), the former treated by intravenous injection of 80 mg phloroglucinol qd plus 40 mg parecoxib bid while the latter given 80 mg phloroglucinol only, both for 3 successive days. Then we recorded the frequency and duration of cystospasm, visual analogue scales (VAS), adverse reactions, post-operative bladder irrigation time, catheter-indwelling time, and hospital stay and compared them between the two groups of patients.
RESULTSCompared with the controls, the patients in the treatment group showed a significantly lower frequency of cystospasm ([1.95±0.14] vs [0.70±0.65] times, P<0.01), duration of cystospasm ([0.44±0.21] vs [0.12±0.14] min, P<0.01), and VAS score (2.70±1.80 vs 1.90±1.30, P<0.01) at 48-72 hours after TURP, but no statistically significant differences were found between the control and treatment groups in the post-operative bladder irrigation time ([2.75±0.87] vs [2.64±0.83] d, P>0.05), catheter-indwelling time ([3.52±0.32] vs [3.44±0.42] d, P>0.05), and hospital stay ([5.23±0.81] vs [5.10±0.73] d, P>0.05), and no obvious adverse reactions were observed in either of the two groups.
CONCLUSIONSPhloroglucinol combined with parecoxib is more effective and safer than phloroglucinol alone in relieving postoperative cystospasm after TURP.

Objective: To investigate the safety, feasibility and short-term efficacy of total laparoscopic loop ileostomy reversal in patients after resection of rectal cancer. Methods: The clinical data of 20 patients who underwent total laparoscopic loop ileoscopic loop ileostomy after radical resection of rectal cancer at Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, or Beijing Chaoyang District Sanhuan Cancer Hospital from October 2019 to June 2020 were collected and retrospectively analyzed. Results: All patients had successfully underwent total laparoscopic ileostomy reversal without conversion to open surgery or discontinued operation. No perioperative related death cases were found. In the whole group, the median operation time was 97 (60-145) minutes and the median intraoperative blood loss was 20 (10-100) milliliters. The median Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score was 1.9 (1-5) one day after the operation. Nobody needed to use additional analgesic drugs. The median time to grand activities was 25 (16-42) hours, the median time to flatus was 44 (19-51) hours, and the median hospitalization after operation was 6.9 (5-9) days. No patients underwent operation related complications such as operative incision infection, abdominal and pelvic infection, intestinal obstruction, anastomotic leakage, bleeding and so on. Conclusions: Total laparoscopic loop ileostomy reversal appears to be safe, feasible and with promising efficacy for selected patients.
