Objective To explore the relationship between field cognitive style and self-handicapping of medical students. Methods 124 medical students were measured by embedded figure test (EFT) and self-handicapping questionnaire (SHS).Results ①The scores of self-handicapping questionnaire were significantly different in whether they like their major or not(33.61±5.21,35.94±5.16,t=-0.218,P=0.031).Differences were also found in whether they could obtain the scholarships (33.20±6.19,35.12±4.12,t=-0.247,P=0.043),and in whether they were in a relationship(35.35±5.48,33.39±5.01,t=2.063,P=0.041).②Compared with field-independent cognitive style students,Field-dependent cognitive style students ' self-handicapping score was higher (35.69±3.91,32.63±6.08,t=3.303,P=0.001).③Field-dependent cognitive style, dislike their major and be in a relationship were the significant predictors of self-handicapping.Conclusion Correlation exists between field cognitive style and self-handicapping of the medical students.Students who belong to field-dependent cognitive style are more prone to self-handicapping than field-independent cognitive style students.

Objective The purpose of this research is to use modern statistical methods,to analyze the rules of cointment by Prof.Yang Zhimin treating yang deficiency and fatigue state patients,to increase the pertinence and to improve the clinical efficacy. Methods This paper analyzed 62 cases of Prof.Yang Zhimin in the treatment of the patients with yang deficiency and fatigue state from October 2010 to January 2013.The analyses were frequency analysis and association rules. Results Among the patients with yang-deficiency and fatigue,193 Chinese medicine were used. The monkshood was the highest frequency.Dampness-transforming medicine accounts for about 22.2% in the top 36 frequency of medicine.Based on analyzing association rules,we found that the compatibility of medicine which were used more frequently came from Sini decoction,Danggui Sini decoction and Jinkui Shenqi pills, such as "monkshood and dried ginger","monkshood and roasted liquorice","dried ginger and roasted liquorice","monkshood and angelica","monkshood and comel","monkshood and prepared rehmannia root" and "monkshood and yam".Futhermore,we found two new core prescription. One was Qian Yang Dan combined with Sini decoction consist of "monkshood, roasted liquorice, dried ginger, fructus amomi".The other one was Tu Si Jian consist of "yam, semen cuscutae, angelica, roasted liquorice".Conclusions "Invigorating spleen and kidney","warming yang and dissipating dampness" and "hiding yang and Seeking Yang in Yin" are the habits and rules of the ointment medication by Prof.Yang Zhimin treatingyang deficiency and fatigue state patients.

Objective To evaluate the effect of traditional Chinese medicine nursing technology among patients with ulcerative colitis. Methods Totally 170 patients with ulcerative colitis were recruited. All patients received routine treatment and received transitional care in inpatient department including diet guidance, illness response and anal guidance on contraction exercise, etc. What's more, the observation group implemented traditional Chinese medicine nursing techniques, including auricular pressure paste, acupuncture point application, acupressure, moxibustion, etc. After 7 and 14 days,we compared the patients' disease activity, sleep quality by Grading scale for Traditional Chinese Medicine symptoms and signs of ulcerative colitis, improved Mayo question,Pittsburgh Quality Sleep Index(PQSI).Results On the 7th and 14th day after intervention, the scores of symptoms and signs in the observation group were (9.73 ± 3.49),(4.54 ± 2.75) points, lower than those in the control group (10.72 ± 4.00),(8.22 ±3.06) points, and the difference was statistically significant (t =1.973,7.878,P =0.042,0.000).On the 14th day after intervention, the Mayo score of observation group was (3.33 ± 1.82) points, lower than that of control group (4.56 ± 1.77) points. The difference was statistically significant (t =4.278,P =0.000).The PSQI score of observation group was (5.67 ± 2.87) points, lower than that of control group (8.53 ± 3.13)points.The difference was statistically significant (t =5.934,P =0.000).Conclusions Traditional Chinese medicine transitional care could effectively improve the symptom of disease and sleep quality among patients with ulcerative colitis.

OBJECTIVETo compare the ettect and side-ettect of fluoxetine and combination of fluoxetine and Chinese or Tibetan medicine in treating senile depression in plateau district. Methods Ninety patients with diagnosis of senile depression conformed to CCMD-3 standard, in plateau district of 2260 - 3200 m altitude were randomly divided into three groups and treated with fluoxetine (group A), fluoxetine plus Sanpu Xinnao Xin granule (group B) and fluoxetine plus Xiaoyao pill (group C), respectively, 30 cases in each group. Therapeutic effects were evaluated with Hamilton' s depressive scale (HAMD) and treatment emergent symptom scale (TESS) after 6 weeks treatment.
RESULTSThere was no significant difference in the therapeutic effects between the three groups. The adverse reaction in Group B and C was less than that in Group A (P<0.01). Conclusion Sanpu Xinnao Xin granule and Xiaoyao pill can raise the tolerance of patients with senile depression in plateau area against the adverse reaction of fluoxetine.

Microglial surveillance plays an essential role in clearing misfolded proteins such as amyloid-beta, tau, and α-synuclein aggregates in neurodegenerative diseases. However, due to the complex structure and ambiguous pathogenic species of the misfolded proteins, a universal approach to remove the misfolded proteins remains unavailable. Here, we found that a polyphenol, α-mangostin, reprogrammed metabolism in the disease-associated microglia through shifting glycolysis to oxidative phosphorylation, which holistically rejuvenated microglial surveillance capacity to enhance microglial phagocytosis and autophagy-mediated degradation of multiple misfolded proteins. Nanoformulation of α-mangostin efficiently delivered α-mangostin to microglia, relieved the reactive status and rejuvenated the misfolded-proteins clearance capacity of microglia, which thus impressively relieved the neuropathological changes in both Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease model mice. These findings provide direct evidences for the concept of rejuvenating microglial surveillance of multiple misfolded proteins through metabolic reprogramming, and demonstrate nanoformulated α-mangostin as a potential and universal therapy against neurodegenerative diseases.
