1.Lung injury after cardiopulmonary bypass
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2001;14(3):260-261,264
Cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB) is often followed by pulmonary dysfunction, and is also regarded as a high risk factor for development of acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS).This article reviewed the recent researches of the mechanisms of lung injury induced by CPB.
2.Lung inflammatory injury after cardiopulmonary bypass
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2001;14(2):164-168
Cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB) can induce systemic inflammatory response syndrome(SIRS).This review elaborated the influences of SIRS in acute lung injury after CPB.
3.The advancement of microRNA regulating epithelial-mesenchymal transition in cholangiocarcinoma
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2017;30(6):665-668
Cholangiocarcinoma is a highly malignant tumor which originates from bile duct epithelial cells, and its invasion and metastasis is an important factor affecting the prognosis of patients and the main causes of the high mortality.Epithelial-mesenchymal transition is a reversible biological process of transition from epithelial phenotype to stromal cell phenotype, which is closely related to tumor invasion and metastasis. The microRNA is an endogenous non-coding RNA with a sequence of 20~25 nucleotides, which participates in the occurrence and development of tumor, especially in the progress of tumor invasion and metastasis by complementary base pairing with the 3'-untranslated region (3'-UTR) of the target gene at the post-transcriptional level.Herein, we present the mechanism of microRNA regulating epithelial-mesenchymal transition and its effect on the invasion and metastasis of cholangiocarcinoma.
4.Importance of Medical Humanistic Education and Its Pratice
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2006;0(10):-
The medical humanistic spirit is very important, but it has been seriously neglected. It is the key to educate medical students with accomplishment of medical humanistic spirit. And it is also necessary to renew the concept of courses, making the relation between the courses of medical humanitic spirit and specialized profession. The Medical College of Shantou University has practised effectively.
6.Progress in the study of choroidal thickness on diabetic retinopathy by OCT
International Eye Science 2015;(5):817-820
? The choroidal vasculature provides oxygen and nutrients to the outer retina, and is responsible for maintaining the highly metabolically active photoreceptor cells. The normal structure and function of its vascular system is very important for the retina. So it is more meaningful to observe the choroid morphology for tracking pathological changes in diabetic retinopathy. With the application of the high resolution optical coherence tomography ( OCT ) technology, spectral -domain optical coherence tomography ( SD - OCT ) enhanced depth imaging technology can be used to measure the choroidal thickness quantitatively, which provides a new idea for the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic retinopathy. Therefore, the research and progress of choroidal thickness on diabetic retinopathy by OCT are summarized as follows.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Nutrition 2014;22(4):200-203
Objective To evaluate the effects of nutritional intervention on the incidence of malnutrition in patients on maintenance hemodialysis (MHD).Methods Totally 196 patients on MHD were randomly assigned to nutritional intervention group (n =98) and control group (n =98).Nutritional intervention or free diet were given in these two groups. The incidence of malnutrition in these two groups was recoded. Results The baseline age, biochemical indicators, and incidence of malnutrition were matched in these two groups (P >0.05).After 6 months, although the number of the patients with malnutrition [35.7% (35/98)] was slightly increased in the intervention group,it showed no significant difference when compared with the baseline level [33.7% (33/98),P >0.05].In the control group, however, the incidence of malnutrition [59.2% (58/98)] significantly increased (P <0.05).The incidence of malnutrition was significantly lower in the intervention group than in the control group (P < 0.05).Conclusion Nutritional intervention can lower the incidence of malnutrition in patients on MHD.

Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 1982;0(02):-
Endogenous hydrogen sulfide is the third gaseous signal molecule after nitric oxide and carbon monoxide;it is synthesized through cystathionine-?-synthase and cystathionine-?-cleavage pathway.Hydrogen sulfide can directly react with the KATP channel, reduce extracellular Ca2+ influx, and work together with testosterone, nitric oxide, carbon monoxide, relaxing corpus cavernosum smooth muscle and improving diastolic function of blood vessels. It can also inhibit vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation, promote apoptosis, and improve vascular remodeling.Therefore,in-depth study of H2S in the regulating penile erection can provide a new way for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.

Chinese Journal of Organ Transplantation 1996;0(04):-
Objective To study the effect of expansion ex vivo on the hematopoietic reconstitution of umbilical cord blood (UCB) hematopoietic cells, and to find a probable way of UCB transplantation (UCBT) to be used on adults. Method Three groups of UCB hematopoietic cells were transplanted to lethally irradiated BALB/C mice: fresh cells, a half part of fresh cells and a half part of cells expanded for a week, cells expanded for a week. Results All the three groups of cells could reconstitute hematopoiesis. The cells in the latter two groups could more rapidly accelerate the recovery of early-period hematopoiesis. The death rate of the mice in second group was the lowest among three groups. Conclusion The way transplanted with a half part of fresh UCB hematopoietic cells and a half part of UCB hematopoietic cells ex vivo expanded for a week may be a probable one for adult UBCT.

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2006;0(09):-
Objective To determine the content of cholesterol in Gekko Gecko. Methods High performance liquid chromatography was performed on Hypersil ODS2 (4.6 mm?150 mm,5 ?m).The chromatorgraphic conditions were as follows:methanol as mobile phase, flow rate being 1.0 mL/min and detecting wavelength at 208 nm.The column temperature was 40 ℃.Results A good linearity of cholesterol was shown in range of 0.885~14.000 ?g (r=0.999 5),the average recovery was 99.65%,RSD=3.45% (n=6).Conclusions This method is simple, rapid and accurate, and may provide a reliable way for the quantification of cholesterol in Gekko Gecko.
