Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2010;32(4):282-284
Objective To observe the effect of neuromuscular electric stimulation (NMES) on post-stroke dysphagia (PSD). Methods Two hundred patients with swallowing dysfunction after stroke were randomly divided into a control group with 67 cases and a study group with 133 cases. All patients received pharmacotherapy and swal-lowing training. The study group also received NMES. The study group was sub-divided into unilateral and bilateral cortical stroke sub-groups, an ischemic stroke sub-group and a hemorrhagic stroke sub-group. The swallowing levels of the groups were compared after 2 courses of treatment with NMES. Results After an average of 20 days of NMES treatment, the level of dysphagia and its severity improved significantly. The patients with dysphagia due to unilateral stroke improved, on average, more than those with bilateral stroke. Patients with dysphagia due to ischemic stroke improved more than those with hemorrhagic stroke. Conclusions NMES therapy combined with rehabilitation train-ing can significantly improve swallowing in patients with PSD.

Methods We made a clinical study of 4 cases of rudimentary uterine horn pregnancy admitted to our hospital between 1995 and 2005. Results Three patients had been undergone artificial abortion before they were admitted to our hospital. All the patients were asymptomatic. Ultrasonography was made in 3 cases. Two cases were diagnosed as rudimentary uterine horn pregnancy. Three patients were cured with surgery. Conclusions Rudimentary uterine horn pregnancy is rare and with atypical clinical manifestation in the first trimester. Although diagnosis before surgery is difficult, ultrasonography and MRI make a great role. Surgery is the most important therapeutic method.
3.Study on Preventive Effects of Arhinhor-11 on Acute Alcoholism in Mice
China Pharmacy 2016;27(19):2654-2656
OBJECTIVE:To study the preventive effects of arhinhor-11 on acute alcoholism in mice. METHODS:48 mice were randomly divided into model group (sodium carboxymethyl cellulose),arhinhor-11 low-dose,medium-dose and high-dose groups [1.23,2.46,4.92 g(crude drug)/kg],with 12 mice in each group. Each group was given relevant medicine intragastrically, and 30 min later given 56% liquor intragastrically to induce acute alcoholism model. The disappearance time and recovery time of righting reflex were determined. 160 mice were grouped, given medicine and modeled with the same method, with 40 mice in each group. The alcohol concentration and alcohol dehydrogenase(ADH)activity in liver of 10 mice were determined 0.5,1,2,3 h af-ter giving alcohol. Other 10 mice were included in normal control (ig administration of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose). RE-SULTS:Compared with model group, the disappearance time of righting reflex were prolonged while recovery time shortened in arhinhor-11 groups, and alcohol concentration and ADH activity increased 0.5,1,2,3 h after giving alcohol (P<0.05 or P<0.01),especially 1 h after giving alcohol. 3 h after giving alcohol, alcohol concentration in blood of arhinhor-11 high-dose group decreased while ADH activity increased (P<0.05);there was no statistical significance among other arhinhor-11 groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Arhinhor-11 has preventive effect on acute alcoholism in mice. It has a positive control effects on the alco-hol concentration in blood and ADH activity in liver.
4.The application of closed needle- free style injection connector in endoscopic nasobiliary drainage
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2016;32(17):1325-1327
Objective To observe the nursing effect of closed needle-free style injection connector in endoscopic nasobiliary drainage (ERCP). Methods From June 2013 to June 2014, 400 patients of the common bile duct stones underwent ERCP technique and placed nasobiliary were divided into two groups according to chronological. Between June 1st, 2013 and December 20th, 200 patients were set as control group, between December 21th, 2013 and June 30, 2014, 200 patients were set as experimental group. For the control group, the nasobiliary duct was directedly connected to the disposable drainage bag. For the experimental group, the nasobiliary duct was connected to closed needle-free style injection connector, and then to the drainage bag. The incidences of the detached connection, the fracture of the connection with the nasobiliary duct, bile leakage from the connection, and post-ERCP infection were compared between two groups. Results The incidence of bile leakage, crack pipes, separation and postoperative infection occurred at the junction nasobiliary rates in the experimental group were 0,0,0,2%(4/200), which were far lower than 35% (70/200),11% (22/200), 6% (12/200), 6%(12/200) of the control group. The difference was statistically significant (χ2=31.75~169.60, P < 0.01). Conclusions The application of closed needle-free style injection connector can effectively avoid the detachment and fracture of the connection, the occurrence of bile leakage, and post-ERCP infection. This will be helpful to decrease the burden of nursing care and increase patients′satisficationdegree.
5.Therapeutic Observation of Acupuncture-moxibustion for Urinary Retention after Anorectal Operation
Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2017;36(3):303-307
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture-moxibustion in treating urinary retention after anorectal operation.Method Forty patients with urinary retention after anorectal operation were randomly allocated to a treatment group and a control group, 20 cases each. The treatment group was intervened by acupuncture -moxibustion, and the control group by oral administration of Pyridostigmine bromide tablets. For the two groups, 10 d treatments were taken as a course. Two treatment courses later, the residual urine volume and spontaneous micturition were measured to see the changes, and the clinical efficacies were also compared. Result The total effective rate was 90.0% in the treatment group versus 70.0% in the control group, and the between-group difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The residual urine volume was significantly changed after the treatment in both groups (P<0.05). After the intervention, the residual urine volume in the treatment group was significantly different from that in the control group (P<0.05). After the treatment, the mean spontaneous micturition time was (16.52±3.18)min in the treatment group, versus (41.37±5.63)min in the control group, and the between-group difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture-moxibustion is an effective approach in treating urinary retention after anorectal operation, since it can reduce the residual urine volume and shorten the spontaneous micturition duration.

9. Assessing mandibular bone mineral density with morphometric analysis
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2010;28(10):1091-1093
Objective: To determine the effectiveness and validity of morphometric analysis made from dental panoramic tomograms (DPTs) for predicting mandibular bone mineral density (BMD) while taking the result of dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) as gold standard. Methods: Twenty healthy subjects (8 male, 12 female) with intact dentition, aged from 11-26 years old, were included in the present study. The BMD of each patient was measured at the lumbar spine (L1 -L4,) by DXA; the results were obtained based on the density of surface (g/cm2). Dental panoramic radiography was carried out using dental panoramic tomography (RTG230/ ENR, made in Italy). Mandibular cortical thickness (MCT) and panoramic mandibular index (PMI) values were calculated and their relationship with DXA measurements were subjected to correlation analysis. The validity of MCT and PMI measurements were assessed by sensitivity and specificity. Results: We found mandibular BMD was positively correlated with MCT (r=0. 268, P<0. 05) and PMI (r=0. 251 3, P<0. 05). The sensitivity, specificity and Youden index of MCT were 50%, 93. 75%, and 0. 437 5, respectively; the numbers of PMI were 50%, 87. 50%, and 0.375, respectively. Conclusion: MCT and PMI might be potential indicators for mandibular BMD; they are simple and applicable in clinic.
