Objective To establish a database for models of teeth, which could provide a new technology for personal identification based upon teeth and bite mark for forensic medical practice. Method The (X, Y) digital coordinates were established based up on materials concerning shape and arrangement of the teeth by analyzing samples of 400 models of teeth. The position of every tooth's key point corresponding to the origin was obtained, thus, the characters of tooth and dental arch could be calculated rapidly according to Borland C ++ 5.0 computer language under DOS system. Results The models of teeth could be identified automatically. Among the correlative precision indexes, the length was 1.3mm, the angle was 3?. It seems reasonable to select 12-14 teeth points for studying, which needed about 5-7 complete tooth marks. Conclusion This method is one of the bases in studying personal identification relating to tooth and bite mark.

Objective To discuss the condition in which ricochet bullet wound is formed, study its ballistic characters and ability to damage in the body, and establish features for the diagnosis of ricochet bullet wound. Method We shot four Yorkshire pigs by selecting No.54 pistol (made in China) and No.56 semiautomatic rifle with No.51 pistol bullet and No.56 rifle bullet, using quern stone as ricocheting target, copied 12 cases of ricochet bullet wound models and observed the characters of entrance wound, wound cavity and cartridge point. Results The formation of ricochet bullet lies with the properties of the target, the shape and velocity of the bullet, angle of incidence and angle of ricochet; the angle of ricochet formed by sharp bullet with high velocity is smaller than the angle by the round bullet with low velocity under the same circumstance; the wound does not produce an evident temporary cavity; six features for the diagnosis were established according to experimented results. Conclusion The correct diagnosis of ricochet bullet wound is of practical value to judging direction and distance of shot, trajectory reconstruction, analysing purpose of shot and evaluation of injury degree.

Objective To probe the mechanism of Warlker-256 cell apoptosis resulted from permanent and strong magnetic field. Method The amplification, rearrangement, deletion, transcription and expression of P53 were detected in 320 rats treated by magnetic field and 80 controls, using Dot Blot of DNA and RNA, Southern and Northern blot, and immunohistochemical technologies. Results P53 is wild type in Warlker-256 cells, no amplification, rearrangement and deletion were found in either magnetic treated group or control group. Objective To study the effects of traditional Chinese medicine Zuojin Pill on gastrointestinal system.Methods Through ig giving 0.1％ methyl orange solution,the gastric residual rate was calculated,and the effect of Zuojin Pill on gastric emptying in mice was observed.By ig administration of 5％ carbon powder,the advance rate of carbon powder was calculated,and the effect of Zuojin Pill on intestinal motility in normal mice and the antagonistic effect on intestinal motility hyperfunction induced by neostigmine were observed.Effect of Zuojin Pill on contraction of isolated guinea pig ileum induced by histamine was observed.After D-xylose solution was ig given to rats,the serum xylose level was determined 1 h later,and the effect of Zuojin Pill on rat intestinal absorption was observed.The anti-diarrhea effect of Zuojin Pill was observed by giving castor oil to mice.At the same time,we have made a comparison between Zuojin Pill and Wuji Pill-berberine,to evaluate the rationalization of Zuojin Pill.Results It was obvious in experimental results that Zuojin Pill had a regulating effect on gastrointestinal system.Zuojin Pill dose-dependently inhibited the gastric emptying.Zuojin Pill demonstrated more effective suppression on the accelerated movement induced by neostigmine,but did not inhibit normal intestinal transit in mice.Zuojin Pill markedly inhibited sperm motility in mice.Zuojin Pill concentration-dependently inhibited the contraction intensity of isolated ileum muscles in guinea pigs induced by histamine.Zuojin Pill markedly inhibited diarrhea induced by castor oil.Compared with Wuji Pill-berberine,the effect of Zuojin Pill on gastrointestinal system was more visible in the same dose.Conclusion Zuojin Pill has obvious regulation effect on the gastrointestinal tract,there are indications that the application of Zuojin Pill to clinic is scientific and reasonable.

Objective To investigate the expression of Glil and β-catenin,which are central molecules of Hedgehog and Wnt signaling pathway,in colon cancer tissues and cell lines,and evaluate their relationship.Methods RT-PCR and Western blot were used to determine the expression of Glil and β-catenin in colon cancer tissues and cells.Interaction between endogenous Glil and endogenous 3-catenin was examined using immunoprecipitation method.Results Compared to corresponding normal tissues,the expression of Gli1 and β-catenin raised raising with one accord,the average growth rates were 42.69,72.11 respectively (P ＜ 0.05).In colon cancer cell lines,the expression levels of Glil and β-catenin increased,which were 52.54,17.23,5.54 and 5.30,6.34,2.78 (all P ＜ 0.05).Both of them were enhanced in three Wnt aberrant active cells visibly.The immunoprecipitation result indicated that there was an interaction between Glil and β-catenin in colon cancer cells.Conclusion The expression of Glil and β-catenin rise congruously in both colon cancer cells and tissues,and there is an interaction between them.This interaction between two key components of Hedgehog and Wnt signaling may suggest the possible crosstalk manner in these pathways.

Schistosomiasis hematobia is one major human schistosomiasis. The disease is endemic in Africa and Mediterra-nean region,and is the main cause of urogenital diseases. Although only Schistosoma japonicum is spreading across the Main-land China,now more schistosomiasis hematobia cases are reported among aid projects and migrant workers to Africa,with the economy development and the increasing degree of foreign exchanges. Meanwhile,the relevant clinical data of schistosomiasis hematobia are rare in China. This article reviews the clinical manifestations and progress in diagnosis and treatment of the dis-ease.
