Chinese Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2009;6(9):466-470
Objective: To compare and evaluate the efficacy and adverse reactions of tizanidine, baclofen and eperisone for treatment of limb spasticity in patients after stroke. Method: One hundred and three patients with stroke were enrolled in this prospective, randomized, controlled study. They were randomly divided into 4 groups: Tizanidine (n = 30), baclofen (n = 25), eperisone (n = 22) and control (n = 26) groups. The muscular tone, motor function and daily live activities (ADL) were evaluated with the modified Ashworth scale (MAS), Fugl-Meyer ssessment (FMA) and modified Bathel index (BI) respectively 4 and 12 weeks before and after the medication. Results: Circled digit oneTwelve weeks after the medication, the MAS scores of the upper and lower limbs of the patients were decreased in the 3 treatment groups as compared to the control group (P < 0.05 all). The average decrease scores of the upper limbs in the tizanidine, baclofen, eperisone and control group were 0.8 ± 0.6, 0.7 ± 0.6, 0.7 ± 0.4, and 0.4 ± 0.4, respectively; and those of lower limbs were 0.8 ± 0.6, 0.7 ± 0.5, 0.7 ± 0.5, and 0.5 ± 0.5. However, there was no significant difference among the 3 treatment groups (P > 0.05). Circled digit twoThe FMA scores of the upper limbs in patients of the 4 groups showed that there were no significant differences before and after the treatment (P > 0.05 all); the FMA scores of the lower limbs in patients of the 4 groups after the 12-week treatment were significantly higher than those before treatment. The average increased scores were 5 ± 3, 6 ± 5, 5 ± 4, and 4 ± 4, respectively (P < 0.05 all), and there were no significant differences between the 4 groups (P > 0.05). Circled digit threeCompare to the scores before the treatment, the MBI showed that there were significant differences in the average scores in the 4 groups 12 weeks after the treatment (P < 0.05 all), and the average increased scores were 27 ± 12, 25 ± 14, 25 ± 12, and 21 ± 11. There were no significant differences between the 3 groups and the control group (P > 0.05). Circled digit fourBlood, urine, liver and renal function tests of all patients were in the normal range before and after treatment. 10% and 8% of patients in the tizanidine and baclofen groups experienced drowsiness; 6.7%, 8%, and 4.5%. of patients in the tizanidine, baclofen, and eperisone groups had gastrointestinal discomfort; 6.7% and 8% of patients in the tizanidine and baclofen groups had blood pressure drop; and 22.7% of patients in the eperisone group had generalized weakness. The symptoms were relieved in all patients after reduce or stop the medication. Conclusion: Tizanidine, baclofen and eperisone have obviously effects for reducing muscular tone and relieving spasticity. Their therapeutic effects has no differences, but the three medicines did not show significant effect on functional recovery.

OBJECTIVE:To systematically review the efficacy of ursodeoxycholic acid(UDCA)in the prevention ofulcerative colitisassociated colorectal cancer (UC-CRC) and dysplasia (UC-Dys),and provide evidence-based reference for clinic. METH-ODS:Retrieved from Cochrane Library,EMBase,PubMed,CJFD,CBM,VIP and Wanfang Database, randomized controlled tri-als(RCT)or cohort studies about UDCA(test group)versus placebo(control group)in the prevention of UC-CRC and UC-Dys were collected. Meta-analysis was performed by using Rev Man 5.3 software after quality evaluation and data extraction by Co-chrane Manual 5.1.0. RESULTS:Totally 7 studies(3 randomized controlled trials and 4 cohort studies)were included in the analy-sis,involving 672 patients. Results of Meta-analysis of 3 RCT showed that there was no significant difference in the incidence of UC-CRC and UC-Dys between 2 groups [OR=0.95,95%CI(0.17,5.12),P=0.95];results of Meta-analysis of 4 cohort studiess-howed that there was no significant difference in the incidence of UC-CRC and UC-Dys between 2 groups[OR=0.74,95%CI(0.30, 1.84),P=0.52]. Results of subgroup analysis showed, the incidence of UC-CRC and UC-Dys in test group with low-dose UDCA (<15 mg/kg) was significantly lower than control group, the difference was statistically significant [OR=0.19,95%CI(0.08, 0.49),P<0.001];there were no signifficant diferences in the incidence of UC-CRC and UC-Dys in high-dose UDCA group[OR=1.97,95%Cl(0.53,7.25),P=0.31](≥15 mg/kg). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:UDCA can not decease the incidence of UC-CRC and UC-Dys,it only prompts a possible trend toward decreased UC-CRC and UC-Dys risk in low-doseUDCA.

China Oncology 2010;20(3):197-201
Background and purpose:The cinobufacini injection is a traditional antitumor drug. However, its mechanism iS still unclear. The purpose of this study was to observe the effect of cinobufacini injections in DNA TOPO Ⅰ of human hepatocellular carcinoma HcpG-2 cells. Methods:The cells that were proliferated were assessed by MTT assay.Cell cycles were shown through FCM.TOPO Ⅰ mRNA expression was analyzed through RT-PCR.The activity of TOPO Ⅰ was measured by TOPO Ⅰ mediated super coiled PHR322 relaxation.Supercoiled PBR322 was also used to determine the direct DNA breakages. Results:Cinobufacini injections significantly inhibited HepG-2 cells proliferation in ways that were dependent on dosages and time.Induced tumor cells arrest at the S-phase.TOPO ⅠmRNA expression decreased in a manner that was dependent on dosages which inhibited the TOPO Ⅰ mediated DNA relaxations. However, the cinobufacini injections could not directly induce DNA breakage at any concentration. Conclusion:Cinobufacini injections can inhibit human hepatocellular carcinoma HepG-2 cells proliferation. The regulation of topoisomerase Ⅰ activity and mRNA expression may be one of the mechanisms that causes the cinobufacini injection to contribute against tumor.

Chinese Journal of Rheumatology 2001;0(04):-
Objective To observe the effects of hypoxia on the expression of connective tissue growth factor(CTGF)and matrix metalloproteinase 9(MMP-9)in lung fibroblasts at different time points. Methods Fibroblasts were cultured at hypoxic condition 0,1.5,3,6,12 h respectively.CTGF mRNA and MMP-9 mRNA level were detected in each group by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).The concen- tration of CTGF and MMP-9 protein in fibroblasts supernatant were determined using enzyme-linked im- munosorbent assay(ELISA).Results Hypoxia stimulated fibroblasts increased the level of CTGF mRNA with- in 1.5 h,and the levels remained at a plateau up to 6 h,and then decreased by 12 h.The level of MMP-9 mRNA increased significantly within 3 h,and the levels kept the trend for increasing.ELISA revealed that the levels of both CTGF and MMP-9 protein/cell in medium conditioned by fibroblasts exposed to hypoxia were maximal at 12 h.The level of MMP in the CTGF-Ab treated groups was significantly decreased compared to the untreated groups. Conclusions These findings suggest that hypoxia stimulates fibroblasts to release CTGF as a mitogen factor, which initiates the fibrosis cascade and airway remodeling by regulating the balance of extracellular ma- trix synthesis and degradation via MMP-9 which is secreted by fibroblast cells in response to CTGF.
8.Prevalence of Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases in Army Old Male Hypertensive Patients in Beijing
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2015;(11):1298-1303
Objective To investigate the prevalence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in the army old male hypertensive patients in Beijing. Methods From October 2011 to April 2014, old male patients in the geriatric department of the General Hospital of Chi-nese People's Liberation Army were enrolled and categorized into 3 groups: normotensive, well-controlled hypertensive and poorly-con-trolled hypertensive groups. The prevalence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases was recorded and binary logistic regression was used to analyze the differences among the groups. Results 719 old male patients were enrolled, 228 in normotensive group, 389 in well-con-trolled hypertensive group and 102 in poorly-controlled hypertensive group. Compared to normotensive group, there was more incidence of angina (OR=2.547, P<0.001), myocardial infarction (OR=2.493, P=0.003), cerebral thrombosis (OR=3.438, P=0.003) and peripheral artery atherosclerotic disease (OR=1.766, P=0.026) in the well-controlled hypertensive group, and it was more of angina (OR=4.123, P<0.001), la-cunar infarction (OR=2.810, P=0.020), cerebral thrombosis (OR=3.484, P=0.001) and peripheral artery atherosclerotic disease (OR=3.773, P<0.001) in the poorly-controlled hypertensive group. There was not significant difference of prevalence of cerebral hemorrhage (0.9%, 1%and 1%, respectively). Conclusion In the army old male hypertensive patients in Beijing, control rate of blood pressure was higher than com-mon population, but the prevalence of ischemic diseases was still higher than in the normotensive patients. Anti-hypertension and control of other risk factors could reduce the mobidity of cerebral haemorrahge.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(31):5050-5055
BACKGROUND:Clinical treatment of epicondyle fractures and intercondylar comminuted fractures is quite tricky due to instability and spread to the articular surface. Common complications contained bone delayed union, nonunion, broken nails and broken boards. Internal fixation for fractures is various, but reasonable choice for clinical fixation plays a decisive role for repair of fractures.
OBJECTIVE:To explore the repair effects of various fixation methods on femoral condyle fracture from different aspects such as fracture type, bone healing, functional recovery and biomechanics.
METHODS:First author searched PubMed database and China National Knowledge Infrastructure for articles about various fixation methods in repair of femoral condyle fracture published from January 2000 to April 2014. Key words were“femoral condyle fracture, internal fixation, biomechanics, load-displacement, axial stiffness, horizontal shear stiffness”. Total y 142 articles were retrieved, but 39 articles met the inclusion criteria.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Femoral condyle fracture caused the damage to normal anatomic structure of knee join, changed normal anatomical axis and the mechanical axis of knee joint. Therefore, anatomic reduction and rigid internal fixation are necessary. During treatment, the advantages and disadvantages of various fixation methods should be known. It is necessary to ful y evaluate the type of intercondylar fractures of the femoral condyle and soft tissue injury. According to biological characteristics of the human body and mechanical property, internal fixation device should be reasonably used. Individual treatment programs should be provided. Thus, the occurrence of postoperative complications should be reduced utmostly, resulting in a satisfactory repair outcome.
