Growth arrest special 5 (GAS5) is a common long non-coding RNA (lncRNA).Recent studies find that lncRNA GAS5 is down-regulated in various tumors, such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancers and urologic cancers.GAS5 is closely related to the development, metastasis and prognosis of cancers, which becomes a new hotspot in cancer research.
2.Effects of infant antibiotic usage on childhood asthma morbidity
Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2015;(2):101-104
According to clinical epidemiological researches, the usage of antibiotics in infant increases the risk of childhood asthma morbidity. The mechanism of this link is not entirely clariifed, and it is assumed of being related to side effects of antibiotics, which changes the colonization of normal intestinal lfora and reduces the diversity. It is clear that normal intestinal lfora of infant help to construct innate immune system and adaptive immune system, and forge immune tolerance. Therefore, normal intestinal lfora might be helpful in reducing allergies. The usage of antibiotics in early life changes the quantity and the composition of intestinal lfora, and breaks the balance of immune homeostasis, which might increase the risk of asthma morbidity. The abuse of antibiotics in children is a general phenomenon in China which needs attention from pediatricians.
3.Report on discontinuation of tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy and the cure of chronic myelogenous leukemia in the 54th ASH annual meeting
Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2013;22(1):13-16
With the great success of imatinib mesylate(IM) and other tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI),chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) is taken as a successful model of targeted therapies for human cancer.Although the emergence of TKI has greatly improved the prognosis of CML,the long-term TKI treatment may bring the problems of drug resistance, serious side effects, poor compliance, and heavy economic burden.Recently, people focus on whether patients would be cured after discontinuation of TKI treatment. Here, the progresses on discontinuation of TKI therapy in CML presented in the 54th American Society of Hematology (ASH) annual meeting were reviewed.

9.Effects of p38 Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase on Apoptosis of Small Intestinal Epithelial Cells after Transplantation in Rats
Chinese Journal of Bases and Clinics in General Surgery 2004;0(01):-
Objective To explore the effects of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) on apoptosis of small intestinal epithelial cells after transplantation in rats. Methods Small intestinal transplantation was performed in SD and Wistar rats. The recipients were divided into three groups: isograft group (Wistar→Wistar group), allograft group (SD→Wistar group) and allograft+cyclosporine A group (SD→Wistar+CsA group). The grafts were harvested on day 1, 3, 5 and 7 after operation. All graft samples were subjected to histological examination. The apoptosis of graft epithelial cells was detected by TUNEL method. p38 MAPK was measured by Western-blotting method and serum TNF-? was determined by ELISA. Results Mild, moderate and severe rejection reaction occurred in the SD→Wistar group, it was showed that the number of apoptotic cells increased with the severity of the rejection reaction by TUNEL. In SD→Wistar group, the numbers of apoptotic cells were significantly higher than those of the other two groups (P0.05). The expression of p38 MAPK and the level of serum TNF-? were positively correlated with apoptosis in small intestinal rejection after transplantation (r=0.875, P
