4.Effect of femoral offset on hip joint function reconstruction after arthroplasty in femoral neck fractures
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2008;10(8):711-714
Objective To study the effect of femoral offset reconstruction ON the Harris hip score and the hip ROM (range of motion) after artificial hip replacement in femoral neck fractures. Methods Follow-ups were conducted for 47 patients who had undergone artificial hip replacements for their unilateral femoral neck fractures. We took X-ray pictures to compare the femoral offsets at the affected and unaffected hips. The operated hips were evaluated by the Harris hip score. Statistical analyses were performed with SPSS l2.0 software. Results The Harris hip score of the operated hip was positively related to femoral offset reconstruction(t=7.25,P<0.001).There was a significant and positive correlation between femoral offset and the hip abductor ROM(r=0.80,P<0.001).The rate of femoral offset reconstruction had no significant difference between total hip arthroplasty and bipolar hip arthroplasty (χ2=0,P>0.05).Conclusions Reconstruction of femoral offset after artificial hip replacement in the femoral neck fractures can improve funetional recovery and ROM of the hip. Femoral offset reconstruction is uncorrelated to the selection of total hip arthroplasty or bipolar hip arthroplasty.
5.Application of clinical risk index for babies in low birth weight preterm infants
Chinese Pediatric Emergency Medicine 2016;23(3):195-199
Clinical risk index for babies( CRIB) is applied in low birth weight preterm neonates to assess the initial severity of illness, predict mortality risk rates, evaluate their own performance, and audit the performance between different medical institutions.CRIB plays an important role in the progressive develop-ment of neonatology. The scoring rules and advantagse of CRIB scorni g system were introud ced in this arti-cle.Teh scoring system is able to correctly predict mortaliyt probabilities and long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes for low birth weight preterm infants.
6.Key advances in the clinical studies of ANCA-associated vasculitis
Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2016;29(3):323-326
Anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies( ANCA)-associated vasculitis ( AAV) has various clinical symptoms, thus various treatment schemes were used in clinics. To date, there has been no validated diagnostic criteria or treatment guideline for AAV.There are three aspects to be considered when assessing the treatment with AAV patients:staging of disease, distinction between disease activity and chronic damages, and quality of life ( QOL) .This review focuses on the latest classification of vasculitis, the rela-tion between disease stages and its severity, the importance of distinguishing active diseases from permanent damages, the therapeutic choices and the management of complications.
7.Drug-resistance of Staphylococcus aureus in Children in Hubei During Four Years
Chinese Journal of Nosocomiology 2006;0(12):-
OBJECTIVE To investigate the evolution of drug-resistance of Staphylococcus aureus in children in Hubei tertiary level hospitals during four years and provide the evidence for clinically reasonable use of antibiotics.METHODS The summary data of drug sensitivity in clinical isolates of meticillin-resistant S.aureus(MRSA) and meticillin-sensitive S.aureus(MSSA) in children in Hubei tertiary level hospitals from 2004 to 2007 were investigated retrospectively and the results were analyzed statistically.RESULTS The tendency of infections with MRSA upgraded yearly during four years(5.7%→10.7%→40.8%→46.9%);the resistance rates of MRSA to various antibiotics were all higher than that of MSSA.The vancomycin-resistant S.aureus had not been detected.CONCLUSIONS The drug-resistance status of SA in Hubei is still very serious. We should adopt effective measurement to control the occurring and epidemic outbreak in combination with children physiological characteristic.
8.A novel protein peptide associated with ischemic heart disease: dermcidin
Chinese Critical Care Medicine 2017;29(6):568-571
Dermcidin (DCD) was found in isolated human skin sweat glands with antimicrobial effect, and was defined as a kind of new small molecule antimicrobial peptide. It was a part of human sweat glands in the skin as the immune system's innate defense. With the studies of DCD, its extensive biological functions are gradually discovered. Since 2010, a number of studies have shown that DCD may be a new risk factor for atherosclerosis. And the role of DCD in ischemic heart disease has drawn increasing attention in particular its relationship with insulin secretion and glycemic control, nitric oxide (NO) synthesis and hypertension, platelet aggregation and acute myocardial infarction (AMI). In those experiments, it was also confirmed that aspirin had antagonistic and reverse effects on various biological functions of DCD. Further research on the role of DCD in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases may lead to the prevention, early warning, prognosis evaluation and treatment breakthrough of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events.
9.The value of CT angiography in diagnosis of intracranial aneurysms
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2015;(18):2852-2853,2854
Objective To study the application value of multislice spiral CT angiography (MSCTA)in diag-nosis of intracranial aneurysms. Methods MSCTA was used to diagnose intracranial aneurysms in 40 patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage.Subtraction angiography digital (DSA)was used as the gold standard to evaluate the sensi-tivity,specificity and accuracy of MSCTA for diagnosis of intracranial aneurysms. Results In 40 patients,34 aneu-rysms were detected in 32 patients and they were all confirmed by incarceration of aneurysm. The aneurysms were de-tected in 33 cases by MSCTA,and the aneurysms were 34.Most of them were single (31 cases),1 case was multiple and 1 case was false positive.DSA was detected in 32 patients with 34 aneurysms, but single in 30 cases and multiple in 2 cases.DSA as the gold standard, the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of MSCTA in diagnosis of intracranial aneurysms were 100%,87.50% and 97.50% respectively.MSCTA detected aneurysm neck width 1.85 -4.33mm, average aneurysm neck width was (3.65 ±1.85)mm.DSA detected aneurysm neck width 1.52 -4.48mm,average aneurysm neck width was (3.41 ±1.96)mm.The average tumor neck width detected by the two methods had no sta-tistically significant difference (t =0.78,P >0.05).But from the minimum of the detection,DSA still had certain ad-vantages.Conclusion The sensitivity of MSCTA for intracranial aneurysms was high.It can be used as a method for surgical treatment of intracranial aneurysms, but it still can not completely replace the DSA.
10.Progress in application of mesenchymal stem cells for nasal inflammation disease.
Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2015;29(9):859-862
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are adult stem cells which derived from the embryonic mesoderm. They have a high proliferative ability and can differentiate into various tissues of mesodermal origin including bone, cartilage and adipose tissue in vitro. Moreover, MSCs have also been shown to produce anti-inflammatory molecules which can modulate cellular and humoral immune responses. Because of their easy preparation, the capacity for self-renewal, multi-lineage differentiation and immunoregulatory effect, MSCs therapy becomes a promising tool in the treatment of tissue regeneration, anti-inflammation, and autoimmune diseases. In this review we will focus on the application of MSCs for nasal inflammation disease.
