Growth hormone (GH) concentration in the blood of healthy adult was measured by RIA (radioimmunoassay) method. The results are as follow: Concentration of GH in the blood of male is lower than in female(p<0.05). There is no significant difference in concentrations of GH at 8-10 AM and 6-9 PM.

Through studies on the hormonal threshold area of menstruation had shown that the hormonal threshold area of menstruation is not a right line but an area consisted of two limits, superior and inferior ones. Menstrual bleeding occurred only when the curve of hormonal effect on development of the endometrium is situated in this area of two limits. Above or under that threshold area the curve of hormonal effect on development does not cause endometrial hemorrhage. The author also showed that the superior limit has a mean value 57.65±43.36 pmol/L and the inferior one is at 29.27±19.43 pmol/L of estradiol. Basing on the above statement the author suggested that the menstruation may be defined as occurred when the curve of hormonal effect on endometrial development situates in a threshold area of menstrual bleeding and not when the sexual steroids go down under a certain threshold as earlier

A study on the healthy voluntary adults without acute or chronic thyroid diseases, with ages of 21-48 who lived in Hanoi, Hai phong and HoChi Minh city has shown that there were no differences of total T3, T4 and FT3, FT4, TSH in the morning, noon and afternoon and there were no significant difference of these between men and women in each region and between regions.

This study relates to stability of the hormones in the thyroid powder of the pig, dried by lyophilizating; vacuum drying at the temperature of 50oC, and by normal drying at the temperature 70oC. Using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) to measure thyroid hormone concentration in the powder of thyroid before and after release test at the temperature of 40±2oC and the relative humidity of 75±5% for 3 months. The result is: The hormone of the thyroid powder, dried at 70oC, have got required stability and it is less than the one of the thyroid powder dried by lyophilizating or vacuum drying.

The change of thyroide function was investigated in monitoring the change of total T3, T4 and TSH levels on 33 healthy children (20 male, 13 female of 9-15 years old of age), without thyroid diseases, living in Ha Noi. Results showed that on studied subjects, total T3 account for 2.09 +/- 0.43 mol/l, T4 111.26 +/- 24.70 nmol/l and TSH 2.28 +/- 0.73. There was no difference in T3, T4 and TSH levels in male and female subjects. Their T3, T4 and TSH levels were approximate to the ones of healthy adult subjects

Research was done in 150 subjects aged from 20 to 74 years old, dividing into 3 groups: normal adult subject, aged patients with hypertension and aged patients with neuralsthenia. Concentrations of catecholamin, acetylcholin and cortisol were measured in 2 different times: before and 8 weeks after practising traditional techniques of relaxation. In this study, the contents of steroid hormones and micro-substances in 5 salt-water fishes including Sea-horse, White hering, Garrupa, Selachian and Mackerel were studied. The result demonstrated that: the contents of steroid hormones in 5 mentioned fishes were relatively higher than other salt-water creatures. The study also explored the availability as well as contents of some necessary micro-substances in these salt-water fishes (K, Ca, Cu, Fe, Zn, Mn, Se). Although, the ability of using the active elements in the 5 salt-water fishes as medicines to enhance health and prevent diseases is very potential, it needs further studies

From June 2001 to August 2002, 210 samples of fresh meat (including 100 samples of pork and 110 samples of chicken) were tested for steroid hormone residues (testosterol, oestrogen, and diethyl stybestrol). Results showed that 8.5% of samples contained hormone residues, in which, 72% contained oestrogen, 28% contained testosterol, and 11 samples (5.2%) contained diethyl stybestrol - these hormone were forbidden for use in cattle and poultry breeding

The extraction, the activity and the content of hormons (testosteron, estrogen and progesteron) from some Echinodermata at Viet Nam were reported. The subjet: Echinodermata collected at Thanh Hoa and Nha Trang. The result: The solven system of methylen chloroid and of methanol have higher effect than of ethanol and ether ethylic. The extracts from egg of sea star, sea urchin tested on white rat and rabbit were proved to have activity of testosteron, estrogen and progesteron. Egg of sea star, sea urchin, pyloric ceaca of sea star and meat of Bohadschia argus Jaeger have adequately steroid hormones (testosteron, estrogen and progesteron). 23 healthy male students from 19-26 of age were studied on the change of serum concentration of cortisol, ACTH, catecholamin, acetylchollin and beta-endorphin after 30 minutes Hegu electroacupuncture. The results show that: there is increase of catecholamin and acetylcholin concentration, decrease of cortisol concentration after exact Hegu electro- acupuncture.- No significant difference of ACTH and beta-endorphin concentration is detected before and after Hegu electro- acupuncture.- Above parameters do not change after outside the Hegu electro- acupuncture exept cortisol concentration that is markly lower.
