Chinese Journal of Biochemical Pharmaceutics 2016;36(4):111-114
Objective To evaluate the efficacy of reinforcing kidney and removing stasis combined with thalidomide in the treatment of multiple myeloma. Methods 120 patients with multiple myeloma from January 2011 to January 2015 in department of traditional Chinese medicine of the third hospital affiliated to Liaoning medical university were divided into two groups. The control group received VAD program ( vincristine, doxorubicin and dexamethasone), and the observation group received reinforcing kidney and removing stasis combined with thalidomide on the basis of control group. All patients received treatment for four weeks of one course. Results After treatment, the total efficiency of observation group was higher than that of control group(75% vs.60%, P<0.05).Compared with control group, the M protein, plasmocyte count and osteoclasts count of observation group were lower, the osteoblast count of observation group was higher(P<0.05).The improvement rate of quality of life (KPS score) in observation group was higher than that in control group (70.00% vs.51.67%,P<0.05).The changes of renal function (serum creatinine, urea nitrogen) and adverse reaction in observation group were less than those in control group (P<0.05).Conclusion The reinforcing kidney and removing stasis combined with thalidomide has the significant effect in the treatment of multiple myeloma with fewer adverse reactions and higher quality of life after treatment.

Objective To investigate the trait coping styles, emotional intelligence, positive mental characters and the impact of event among Chinese recruits, and the relationship among them. Methods The Trait Coping Style Questionnaire (TCSQ), Schutte's Emotional Intelligence Scale (SSEIS), Positive Mental Characters Scale for Recruits (PMCS-R), and Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R) were used to assess the coping styles, emotional intelligence, positive mental characters and the impact of event in 1 837 male recruits that were divided into two groups (stress group and control group) by considering the scores of the IES-R as the screening criteria (≥35). The data were analyzed by t test, correlation analysis and multiple stepwise regression analysis. Results Totally 148 (8.1%) male recruits with stress were screened, and 163 male recruits without stress were selected using stratified random sampling according to demographic characteristics of age, education level and so on. There were significant differences between stress and control groups in the scores of TCSQ, SSEIS and PMCS-R except utilization of emotions and wisdom. Multiple stepwise regression analyses showed that the negative coping, regulation of emotion and wisdom entered the regression equation of the total score of IES-R in the stress group (F=13.395, R2=0.218, P<0.05). However, in the control group, only negative coping came into the equation of the total score of IES-R (F=22.887, R2=0.155, P<0.05). Conclusion Trait coping styles, emotional intelligence and positive mental characters can predict the impact of stress event among recruits effectively, which could provide theoretical basis for the mental health service in recruits.

Objective To study the relationship between psychological health and social support and coping style in general hospitals. Methods 756 nurses from 3 general hospitals were enrolled by cluster sampling and were investigated by Symptom Checklist 90(SCL-90),Social Support Rate Scale(SSRS)and Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire(SCSQ).The investigation results were analyzed. Results The general level of psychological health of nurses was not optimistic with a positive rate Of 37.04%. The somatizatlon factor of the head nurses was different from that Of normal nurses. Significant difference existed in the following aspects such as somatization, depression and terror factors between night shift nurses and day shift nurses. Relativity could be seen between social support and coping style and psychological health. Conclusion Hospital managers should attach importance to the psychological health of nurses. At the same time they should supply positive social support and instrucitons of coping style to improve the general level of psychological health.

Objective To explore the mediation effect of adult attachment on the relationship between childhood trauma and borderline personality disorder(BPD) in recruits. Methods Childhood trauma questionnaire-28 short form (CTQ-SF),adult attachment scale (AAS) and personality diagnostic questionnaire-4+ (PDQ-4+) were administered to 1 750 recruits in the autumn of 2013.Results The scores of physical neglect, emotional neglect, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, physical abuse, attachment anxiety, attachment close and dependence and BPD were 11.05±3.04,10.00±3.54,6.73±2.32,5.92±2.06,5.83± 1.97,3.02 ± ±0.53,3.19±0.44,2.45± 2.04,respectively.BPD had significantly positive correlation with childhood trauma and attachment anxiety (r=0.353,0.284,P< 0.01),and significantly negative correlation with attachment close and dependence(r=-0.198,P<0.01).Childhood trauma, attachment close and dependence and attachment anxiety could positively predict BPD(F=142.172,P<0.01),which could explain 19.6% of the total variation.Structure equation model and Bootstrap test showed that childhood trauma not only directly predict BPD in recruits, but also indirectly predict BPD in recruit through attachment close and dependence and attachment anxiety (x2/df=11.472,RMSEA =0.077,NFI =0.943,RFI =0.901,IFI =0.948,TLI =0.902,CFI =0.948),and the mediational path through attachment close and dependence and attachment anxiety with the effect size were 10.8% and 8.1%,and the total mediational effect size was 18.9%.Conclusion Adult attachment exerts a multiple mediation effect on the relationship between childhood abuse and BPD in recruits.

Objective To explore the relationship between personality and depression, especially to investigate mediating effect of positive mental characters. Methods A sample of 1 933 male recruits was assessed with eysenck personality questionnaire (EPQ),positive mental characters scale for recruits (PMCS-R) and self-rating depression scale (SDS).Results The scores of introversion-extroversion,psychoticism,neuroticism,positive mental characters and depression were 55.26±10.59,42.85±7.25,42.35± 11.67,3.80±0.64,0.45±0.11,respectively.There were correlations among personality, positive mental characters and depression in recruits (P<0.05).Regression analysis indicated that introversion-extroversion,psychoticism and neuroticism predicted depression directly, and it could explain 42.6% of the total variance (F=476.28,P<0.05).Hierarchy regression analysis showed that positive mental characters mediate the relationship between personality (introversion-extroversion,psychoticism,neuroticism) and depression (the mediation effect was 0.22,0.19 and 0.11 respectively,P< 0.05).Conclusion Recruits' personality affects depression not only directly, but also indirectly through positive mental characters.

Objective To explore the mediating effect and moderating effect of positive mental characters in the relationship between childhood abuse and depression among recruits. Methods 1925 recruits aged from 16 ~24 were investigated using the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire-28 item Short Form (CTQ-SF),Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) and Positive Mental Characters Scale for Recruits (PMCS-R) through random cluster sampling. Results The scores of emotional abuse, physical abuse, sex abuse, emotional neglect, physical neglect, depression, positive mental characters were 6.11±1.69,5.49±1.32,5.61±1.45,9.15±3.66,9.57±2.93,0.45±0.11,3.80±0.64,respectively.There were correlations among childhood abuse, depression and positive mental characters (P<0.05).Emotional neglect, physical neglect and emotional abuse could explain 28.6% of the total variance of depression (F=256.72,P<0.05).The positive mental characters partially mediated the relationship between emotional neglect, physical neglect, emotional abuse and depression (mediating effect were 0.19,0.15 and 0.09,respectively),and it could only moderate the relationship between emotional neglect and depression (F=24.73,P<0.05).Conclusion Childhood abuse not only directly but also indirectly affects depression through the positive mental characters;meanwhile the positive mental characters can change the relationship between childhood abuse and depression.
