The latest reports showed that kidney secrets a new type protein:renalase,a novel flavin adenine dinucleotide-dependent(FAD-dependent)amine oxidase which is secreted into the blood by the kidney and regulates heart function and blood pressure by metabolizing catecholamines.Kidney disease is associated with cardiovascular disease,so people pay more and more attentions to renalase. This article will introduce the structure and mechanism of renalase, and propose its future.

OBJECTIVE:To study the legislative evolution and causes of biologics data protection system in the United States, and provide reference for designing biologics data protection system in China. METHODS:Started from analyzing the features of biologics data protection in the United States, through analyzing the legislative struggle of biologics data protection in the United States, the caused and its enlightenment to China were explored. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:After legislative discussion evolu-tion and struggle, the United States enacted the Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act in 2010,established the world's firststrong protectionstandard of biologics data protection system, and determined the 12-year data protection period. The legisla-tive basis was to stimulate the strategic needs of innovation, the direct cause was that a biological analogue simplified application was established in the United States, and the key factors included biologics technical attributes and patent protection features. Cur-rently,biologics data protection system is not suitable for China, and China should implement the system from nothing, from weak to strong when the national condition matches or strategic choice needs. Meanwhile,a mature registration approval system is the ba-sis of establishing data protection system.

Objective To study the risk factors of patients with atherosclerotic renal artery stenosis (ARAS) and the relation with renal function. Methods The renal function of 64 ARAS patients was measured and compared with 36 healthy controls. Results Compared with the healthy controls, the incidence rates of morbilities of coronary artery disease, more than single-vessel, peripheral vascular disease, renal inadequacy increased significantly ( P<0.05), and the age, pulse pressure, levels of blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (SCr) were significantly higher ( P<0.01) in ARAS patients. Conclusion The elder, coronary artery disease, more than single-vessel, large pulse pressure, peripheral vascular disease and renal inadequacy are risk factors for ARAS. Severe renal artery stenosis may lead to renal inadequacy.

Objective:To explore the change of B cell numbers in active MRL/lpr lupus mice , and their regulation mechanisms. Methods:B cell cycle and the percent of B cells in spleen lymphocytes of active MRL /lpr lupus mice and normal C 57/B6 mice were analyzed by using flow cytometry .The apoptotic B cells and their subclass were analyzed by Annexin V and PI staining.Further more ,B cells were purified by magnetic sorting , and real-time quantitative PCR was carried out to detect apoptosis-related gene. Results:Compared with the C57/B6 mice, the percent of B cells in active MRL/lpr lupus mice were significantly reduced (P<0.01),while the percent of apoptotic cells were significantly increased (P<0.01).The percent of early apoptotic B cells were sig-nificantly increased ( P <0.01 ) which including the immature and mature B cells , while the late apoptotic B cells were unchanged.Further more,we found that the anti-apoptotic protein BIRC3 was significantly reduced in active lupus B cells (P<0.01), while the pro-apoptotic protein BCL2L1 and BBC3(PUMA) were significantly increased(P<0.01).Conclusion: B cells in active lupus mice were significantly reduced while early apoptotic B cells were increased , which may be attributed to the changed balance between the anti-apoptotic and pro-apoptotic proteins , suggesting the reduction of B cells in SLE patients may be related to their increased early apoptosis .

Objective To evaluate the surgical technique and the clinical effect of applying free superficial palmar branch of the radial artery flap to repair soft tissue defect of finger pulp. Methods From June,2011 to December,2013,12 cases of soft tissue defect of finger pulp and bone exposed were treated with free superficial palmar branch of the radial artery flap. The flap was designed from the proximal end of palmar wrist and the donor site was sutured directly. The size of the harvested flaps was between 2.5 cm × 1.0 cm and 6.2 cm × 3.8 cm,and the sensation of the flap was reconstructed via median nerve cutaneous branch. Results All transfering flaps survived and all cases were followed up for 4 to 17 months. The donor site got primary healing with a straight car.The appearance and texture of the flaps were satisfactory.2-point discrimination ranged from 6 to 11 mm.The pain sensation, warmth sensation and touch sensation of the flap got better. Conclusion The free superficial palmar branch of the radial artery flap is easy to harvest and anastomose, which is masked and a small incision for the donor site. The appearance and sensation of the flap which has sensory nerve branched for sensory reconstruction is satisfactory. It is an ideal method for the repairment of finger pulp defects.

Objective:To explore the effect of histone demethylase JMJD3 on B cell activation and apoptosis. Methods:B cells were sorted and purified from the peripheral blood of healthy people and SLE patients by using magnetic bead. After B cells were treated with IFN-αor R848 or IFN-α+R848,the percentages of CD86+B cells,CD69+B cells,CD86+Annexin V+B cells and CD69+Annexin V+B cells were detected by flow cytometry. The expression of JMJD3 was detected by Real Time PCR and Western blot. Results:The purity of sorted B cells was up to 95%.IFN-αenhanced both the activation and apoptosis and the JMJD3 expression of TLR7-activated B cells. The expression of JMJD3 was dependent on MAPK signal pathway, but not the NF-κB signaling pathway.Moreover,JMJD3 was highly expressed in B cells of peripheral blood from SLE patients compared to those from healthy people.Furthermore,JMJD3 inhibitors could inhibit the activation and apoptosis of IFN-αand R848 activated B cells.Conclusion:JMJD3 participated in the activation and apoptosis of IFN-αand TLR7-induced B cells, suggesting JMJD3 inhibitors may possess therapeutic effect for alleviating symptom of SLE.
