Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2011;34(9):7-9
Objective To explore the value of serum human epididymis protein 4 (HE4) and cancer antigen 125 (CA125) in the prediction of ovarian cancer onset risk. Methods Petected the expression of HE4 by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and CA 125 by electrochemiluminescence (ECL) in serum of 75 samples of ovarian cancer (ovarian cancer group),132 samples of ovarian benign disease (ovarian benign disease group) and 30 samples of healthy women (control group),calculated the sensitivity and specificity of HE4 and CA125 in the prediction of ovarian cancer onset risk, and drew receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Results The expression of serum HE4 and CA125 were both higher in ovarian cancer group than those in ovarian benign disease group and control group (P < 0.05 ). HE4 was a better index in the prediction of ovarian cancer onset risk than CA 125 (ROC area under curve was 0.966 and 0.905 respectively). The expression of HE4 was various in different pathological types, serous ovarian adenocarcinoma had the highest expression of HE4 (100.0% ,42/42). The sensitivity of diagnosing ovarian cancer by HE4 was 86.7%(65/75), 93.3%(70/75) by HE4 combining and/or CA125,there was no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion Serum HE4 could be a good index of predicting the onset risk of ovarian cancer, the combination of HE4 and/or CA125 could not increase the sensitivity of prediction of ovarian cancer significantly.

5.THE EXPRESSIONS OF VCAM-1 AND MHC CLASSⅡ MOLECULES IN THE EXPERIMENTAL AUTOIMMUNE ENCEPHALOMYELITIS RAT BRAIN VASCULAR ENDOTHELIAL CELLS
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1954;0(02):-
Objective To explore the surface molecule changes of the experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) rat brain vascular endothelial cells. Methods The expressions of vascular cell adhesion molecule\|1(VCAM\|1) and major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class Ⅱ molecules in the EAE rat brain vascular endothelial cells were tested by immunohistochemistry. The level of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and interferon\|?(IFN\|?) in defferent clinic grade EAE were tested by MTT [3\|(4 5\|dimethythiazol\|zyl)\|2\^5\|diphenyl) tetrazolium bromide] method. Results There were inducible expressions of VCAM\|1 and MHC class Ⅱ molecules in the EAE rat brain vascular endothelial cells compared with control. The sera of EAE rats possessed the activities of TNF and IFN\|?.Conclusion\ In the CNS inflammation, the change surface molecules in the brain vascular endothelial cells may suggest that it plays important roles in EAE pathogenesis.\;[

Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2009;36(11):1394-1401
Developmental dyslexia is a specific learning disability. The cerebral mechanism of development dyslexia is an important topic that has fascinated many researchers. With the introduction of brain imaging in studies of cerebral mechanism of development dyslexia, many achievements have been made. Studies of developmental dyslexia structure image found that development dyslexia showed brain structure abnormal in the parietotemporal region, occipitotemporal cortex, inferior frontal gyrus, and cerebellum et al, manifesting either in one specific area or by the asymmetry of one area; the functional image studies revealed that development dyslexia showed activity abnormal in most regions that proved to display structure abnormality; studies of brain functional connectivity demonstrates that the abnormality of development dyslexia happened not only in the connection between front-back part in one cerebral hemisphere, but also in the connection between the two hemispheres. In addition, some studies indicate Chinese development dyslexia has different brain mechanisms compared to that of alphabetic languages. These findings provide valuable insight for future developmental cerebral mechanisms research and for the expansion of Chinese development dyslexia research.

Objective To improve health care workers’(HCWs)infection prevention and control consciousness through carrying out catheter-associated urinary tract infection(CAUTI)prevention and control project, and imple-ment prevention and control measures in practical work. Methods Diagnostic criteria of CAUTI issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Prevention and Control/National Healthcare Safety Network were adopted, from October 2013 to September 2014,monitoring was conducted on CAUTI in patients with indwelling urinary catheters for >2 con-secutive days at different types of ICUs in hospitals participated in the project .Results A total of 14 124 CAUTI cases were collected,410 patients developed CAUTI,urinary catheter usage rate was 79.33%(203 114/256 042), incidence of CAUTI was 2.02‰(410/203 114),urine specimen detection rate was 46.52%(6 570 /14 124).The detection rate of urine specimens increased from 37.24% (the fourth quarter of 2013)to 49.76% (the third quarter of 2014).Of prevention measures, the difference in the indication of catheterization was significantly different(P <0.01).Conclusion Through the development of competence building project of healthcare-associated infection pre-vention and control, prevention and control of CAUTI has achieved good intervention effect.

Objective To analyze the risk factors for ventilator-associated pneumonia(VAP) in the intensive care unit(ICU) of a hospital, and provide theoretical reference for preventing and controlling VAP.Methods ICU patients receiving mechanical ventilation for more than 48 hours between October 2013 and December 2014 were monitored by targeted monitoring method, risk factors for the occurrence of VAP were analyzed. Results A total of 483 patients received mechanical ventilation for more than 48 hours,76 (15.73%) of whom developed VAP;the overall ventilator days were 5 347 days, incidence of VAP was 14.21 per 1 000 ventilator days.Univariate analysis showed that groups of gender, age, length of hospital stay, and duration of artificial airway were all significantly different,VAP rate in male patients was higher than that in female patients(x2 =9.838,P<0.01);VAP rate was highest in patients aged 41-70 years(x2 =10.242,P<0.01),followed by patients aged≥71 years;VAP rate were relatively higher in patients with longer length of hospital stay and longer duration of artificial airway(x2 =59.533,P<0.01;x2 =74.215,P<0.01,respectively).Conclusion Incidence of VAP in the ICU of this hospital is higher, especially in male patients, patients aged 41-70 years,as well as patients with long length of hospital stay and long duration of artificial airway.

ObjectiveTo investigate the expression of costimulatory molecules, Fas/FasL, and major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-class Ⅱ antigens in normal ocular tissues.MethodsTwelve eyes were obtained from the eye bank of Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center within 16 to 24 hours postmortem. Six eyes were used for making the retinal wholemounts, and the tissues (iris and ciliary body, choroid, and retina) of the others were used for making the frozen sections. Immunohistochemical staining was carried out on these retinal wholemounts as well as on tissue sections to investigate the exprenion of B7-1 and B7-2 (costimulatory molecules), HLA-DR(MHC class Ⅱ), CD68 (macrophages), Fas/FasL.ResultsThe results of immunohistochemical staining showed the presence of B7-2, FasL, CD68 and HLA-DR in the iris and ciliary body. Expression of B7-1, FasL, CD68, and HLA-DR was found in the choroid while HLA-DR, CD68 and FasL were detectable in the retina.ConclusionExpression of costimulatory molecules, MHC-class Ⅱ molecules and molecules related to apoptosis is different in the iris, ciliary body, choroid, and retina, which may play an important role in the stability of the immunological microenvironment of these tissues.
