Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2016;15(9):936-939
TED-Med Viewing, Listening&Speaking is compiled to serve academic audio-visual-oral English teaching in medical colleges. This paper elaborates some compilation ideas concerning this text-book. First, both the urgent needs of academic English teaching and the unique advantages of TED speech are the major stimulus to compiling this textbook. Second, its compiling philosophy adheres to learning centered, meaningful input. Third, compiling process is divided into three stages-preparation, writing and evaluation. Third, compiling principles includes four aspects: language and medical knowledge integrate
organically, the text and the task are authentic; proficiency training approaches are scientific; and the text-book is suitable for autonomous learning. Forth, the main content covers four medicine-related themes-humanity, health, disease, science and technology; each theme consists of three sub topics with 12 units (topics) in total; the content is interesting, informative and reflective. These compilation ideas prove to be scientific and feasible demonstrated by English teachers and medical experts. TED-Med Viewing, Listening&Speaking is expected to be completed and published earlier in order to promote academic English teach-ing and research in medical colleges.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2001;0(08):-
Objective To explore the relationships between the serum and urinary levels of procollagen Ⅲ and renal injury at the early stage of hypertension in sponantously hypertensive rats. Methods 16 sponantously hypertensive rats (SHR) were divided into treated group (losartan 30mg?kg -1?d -1) and untreated group, each group containing 8 animals, and 8 Wistar-kyoto rats served as normotensive control group(WKY). The serum and urinary levels of procollagen Ⅲ and ? 2-microglobin, and urinary microalbumin level were measured by radioimmunoassay 16 weeks after treatment. Results Blood pressure, serum ? 2-microglobin level, and the urinary levels of procollgen Ⅲ, ? 2-microglobin and microalbumin in SHR were significantly higher than those in wistar-kyoto rats. Losartan could decease the levels of the indices above in SHR. Serum procollagen Ⅲ level had not significant difference among the three groups of rats, and was not correlated with urinary procollagen Ⅲ level. There were positive correlation between serum and urinary ? 2-microglobin levels, and urinary procollgen Ⅲ level was positively retated to urinary ? 2-microglobin, urinary microalbumin and systalic pressure. Conclusion The levels of urinary procollgen Ⅲ,? 2-microglobin and microalbumin could reflect the lesion of glomerulus and tubulointerstitum at the early stage of essential hypertension in SHR.

Objective To determine the expression of macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF)in different molecular subtypes of breast cancer and its clinical significance so as to detect the biological markers of different molecular subtypes of breast cancer. Methods We divided 100 breast cancer patients into four molecular subtypes by immunostaining:luminal subtype,HER-2(+)subtype,basal-like (BLs)subtype and normal breast-like (NBLs)subtype, and then compared the expression of MIF in the groups. We analyzed the associations of MIF-positive expression rate with age, menstruation, tumor size, auxiliary lymph node metastasis, histological type and grade, and clinical stage of the breast cancer patients. We also compared MVD level and 5-year overall survival rate between MIF-positive patients and MIF-negative ones. Results The positive expression of MIF was correlated with HER2(+)subtype breast cancer and auxiliary lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05 ).The patients with MIF-positive expression had a significantly higher level of MVD than those with MIF-negative expression (P < 0.05 ). Kaplan-Meier method showed that MIF-positive patients had a poor prognosis than MIF-negative ones (Log-rank=1 9.5 1 6,P = 0.000).Conclusion Breast cancer patients with MIF-positive expression may be mostly of HER2 (+)subtype, and tend to develop auxiliary lymph node metastasis. These patients have a significantly higher level of MVD and poor prognosis than those with MIF-negative expression.

Purpose To observe the pathologic types of glomerular diseases which have high renal interstitial foam cells infiltration and to evaluate the relationship between infiltration of foam cells (FC) in renal interstitial tissue and pathologic parameters. Methods A total of 2 862 patients who had received renal biopsy were enrolled in this study. Patients with Alport syndrome (AS,n=5), membranous proliferative glomerular nephritis (MPGN,n=28), focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS,n=144), idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN,n=132), IgA nephropathy (IgAN,n=893) were divided into two groups:FC+ group with foam cells and FC- group without foam cells. Results Infiltration of foam cells in renal interstitial tissue was commonly seen in AS.The frequency of interstitial foam cells was 46.43% in MPGN, 20.14% in FSGS, 13.64% in IMN, and 6.27% in IgAN. It was found that the segmental glomerular sclerosis and interstitial fibrosis were more severe in FC+ group than that in FC- group. Conclusions The renal interstitial foam cells are most common in patients with AS, but also seen in patients with MPGN, FSGS, IMN and IgAN. There might be a relationship between glomerular sclerosis, interstitial fibrosis and infiltration of foam cells. The present of foam cells in the renal interstitial tissue may contribute to the progression of renal diseases.

Aim To investigate the protective effects of Aplysin on ethanol-induced oxidative damage in rat pri-mary hepatocytes. Methods Rat primary hepatocytes were obtained via the portal vein collagenaseⅣin situ perfusion technique followed by a Percoll density gradi-ent centrifuge. MTT test was used to determine the op-timum dose of Aplysin and ethanol, and detect the cell vitality in primary hepatocytes. Supernatants of primary hepatocytes were harvested to measure AST and LDH level, and the SOD, GSH-PX activities and MDA con-tent in primary hepatocytes were observed. Flow cy-tometry was used to detect the cell apoptosis rate. DNA damage in primary hepatocytes was detected by single-cell gel electrophoresis assay. The level of mitochon-drial membrane potential in primary hepatocytes was tested by fluorogenic probe JC-1 . The CYP2 E1 activity in primary hepatocytes was detected by colorimetry. The proteins of CYP2 E1 were detected by Western blot. Results 300 mmol·L-1 dose of ethanol and 30 mg·L-1 dose of Aplysin were the optimal dosages and were used in the subsequent experiments. Hepatocyte vitality was significantly increased in Aplysin group compared to that in ethanol group, and Aplysin inhibi-ted the release of AST and LDH(P<0. 05). For Apl-ysin treatment group, the activities of hepatocyte SOD and GSH were significantly increased, and MDA was markedly lowered as compared with those in ethanol group( P <0. 05 ) . Aplysin could alleviate hepatocyte apoptosis significantly, and hepatocyte DNA damage rates of Ⅱ ~Ⅲ level and Ⅳ level were significantly lowered in Aplysin treatment group as compared with those in ethanol group, and Aplysin had evident im-provement in alcohol induced mitochondria damage of hepatocyte. Primary hepatocyte activities and protein expression of CYP2 E1 were markedly lowered in Aply-sin treatment group as compared with those in ethanol group(P<0. 05). Conclusion Aplysin has protective effects on liver oxidative damage induced by alcohol of primary cultured rat hepatocytes by blocking CYP2 E1 activation, relieving oxidative stress, and sharpening the oxidation resistance ability.
