In recent decades a number of authors have argued that allergen exposure is the major primary cause of asthma and that the global increases in mites allergic asthma prevalence are associated with the increases of exposure to mites-allergens.The knowledge of the acaridan and the allergens is important for planning intervention of mites allergic asthma.The research progress in this field was reviewed in the present paper,including the epidemiology,the mechanism and immunotherapy of mites allergic asthma.

Objective To investigate the breeding situations of acaroid mites in some dwellings in Zhangjiagang city and the influence on the patients with mites allergic asthma.Methods Acaroid mites in the dust from five different positions of rooms of 40 patients with mites allergic asthma and 40 normal control were counted and identified by light microscope.Results The detection rate of acaroid mites in 400 samples was 52.25%(209/400).A total of 2 746 acaroid mites were detected,which belong to 15 species and 7 families.The highest breeding rate and relative abundance were 46.25%(185/209)and 54.26%(1 490/2 746)respectively,which comes from Pyroglyphidae family,the following families were Acaridae(34.5%;23.89%)and Glycyphagidae(19.25%;18.14%).About the breeding densities of acaroid mites,statistical difference between patients and normal control was found(P

Objective To explore the effect of 3-month-exposure to high altitude(4400 m) on military cognitive func-tion.Methods Using pre-post paired t-testdesign, thirty-seven male recruits were enrolled , eight cognitive function variables, including reaction time, speed-perception, time-perception, operating-dexterity, memory span, depth-percep-tion, short-term memory and attention span , were analyzed by paired comparison .Results After 3-month-exposure to 4400 m high altitude, movement time (P<0.05) was shortened, speed-perception became more accurate (P<0.05),memory span and short-term memory both declined slightly(P<0.05), and the errors in depth perception deteriorated (P<0.05). Moreover , the depth-perception was more prone to′see close′.Conclusion During the 3-month-exposure to higher altitude environments , many of the cognitive functions of soldiers may be damaged to different extents , and the negative effect on re-action and movement time , depth-perception and memory is more remarkable .

Objective To discuss the nursing points for patients with malignant obstructive jaundice who are receiving biliary stenting combined with linear 125I seeds strand implantation. Methods A total of 41 patients with malignant obstructive jaundice were enrolled in this study. Biliary stenting combined with linear 125I seeds strand implantation was performed in all the 41 patients. Sufficient preoperative preparation and psychological intervention were carefully implemented. During the operation, active cooperation with the surgical procedures and close observation of patient’s vital signs as well as adverse reactions such as nausea and vomiting were strictly carried out. After the treatment the management of PTCD drainage tube, the protection of radiation and the early detection of complications were further emphasized. Results The technical success rate of biliary stenting together with linear 125I seeds strand implantation was 100%. The serum total bilirubin levels, determined at one week, one and 3 months after the treatment, were significantly decreased when compared with the preoperative data. Clinically, the jaundice basically subsided. Bile-cardiac reflex occurred in one case and displacement of PTCD drainage tube in 2 cases. Twelve patients developed chills and fever after operation. Acute renal insufficiency occurred in one patient, which was relieved after effective management. The median survival time was 10.9 months. Conclusion Careful and comprehensive preoperative preparation can ensure a successful operation. Intraoperative close observation of patient’s condition and skilled cooperation with the operator, and high quality postoperative nursing measures and close observation for early signs of complications are essential nursing points to ensure that the patients can safely get over the rehabilitation period.

BACKGROUND: The combination of electric acupuncture and clomipramine is the behavior attempt in the integration of Chinese and western medicine in the treatment of obsession.OBJECTIVE: To probe into the long-term therapeutic effects of the combination of acupuncture and medication on obsession and its influence on social functional recovery.DESIGN: Controlled study with observation in which the patients were taken as the objects.SETTING: Wards of a municipal mental hygiene center PARTICIPANTS: The research was performed in the Fifth People's Hospital of Zibo. Totally 30 inpatients were selected from January 1997 to October 2003 in the hospital, aged varied from 18 to 57 years, at the average of (33 ± 12) years. Thirty patients were divided randomly into two groups,named as experimental group, 15 cases with 8 males and 7 females; and the control group, 15 cases with 7 males and 8 females.METHODS: In the experimental group, electric acupuncture was applied on neiguan, renzhong and chengjiang, together with clomipramine orally. In the control group, only clomipramine was applied. The therapeutic effects and side effects were evaluated with Y-Bocs, TESS and clinical evaluation standards successively before the treatment, at the 4th, 6th and 8th weekends after treatment and by 6 months following visits. SDSS evaluation was carried on at the 8th week of the treatment.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Comparisons of evaluating results with Y-Bocs, TESS and SDSS.RESULTS: At the 4th, 6th and 8th weekends of the treatment, the score-reducing rates of Y-Bocs in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, but the difference was not significant ( P ＞ 0.05). The scores of TESSin the control group were remarkably higher than those in the experimental group( P ＜ 0. 01 ) . Factor scores of "profession and work" in SDSS in the experimental group were lower than that in the control group ( P ＜ 0.05 ).CONCLUSION: Electric acupuncture on neiguan, renzhong and chengjiang reduces the side effect of clomipramine in the treatment of obsession and improve the living quality of the patients with obsession.

Objective To compare the effects of semi conductor laser nasal cavity irradiation with He Ne laser intravenous irradiation therapy on patients with brain lesion. Methods Ninety six cases of cerebral infarction(CI), traumatic brain injury(TBI) were randomly divided into semi conductor laser group (group A, n =50, ?=650nm , 2.4mW, 30mins/nasal cavity), He Ne laser group (group B, n =46, ?=632.8nm, 2.5mW, 40mins/ intermedia cubiti vein or basilic vein). The changes of the blood lipids, hemorheology parameters, scores with Fugl Meyer movement scale and Barthel index assessment were compared after the semi conductor laser and He Ne laser irradiation. Results After laser irradiation,The CHOL, TG, LDL, ESR and HCT were significantly reduced in both groups( P 0.05). The brain damage area was reduced in all the patients as revealed by CT examination. Conclusion The influence of the two kinds of laser irradiation therapies is similar when applied in patients with brain injury. But semi conductor laser nasal cavity irradiation is a simple, safe, inexpensive therapy for the patients.

P-450-dependent epoxygenase pathway of arachidonic acid and the products of epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs) have been demonstrated to be involved in angiogenesis and tumor progression. This study examined the expression of EETs and the role of the pathway in the angiogenesis of multiple myeloma (MM). MM cell lines of U266 and RPMI8226 were cultured, and the EETs levels (11, 12-EET and 14, 15-EET) in the supernatant were determined by ELISA. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were cultured and used for analysis of the angiogenesis activity of the two MM cell lines, which was examined both in vitro and in vivo by employing MTT, chemotaxis, tube formation and matrigel plug assays. 11, 12-EET and 14, 15-EET were found in the supernatant of the cultured MM cells. The levels of the two EETs in the supernatant of U266 cells were significantly higher than those in the RPMI8226 cell supernatant (P<0.05), and the levels paralleled the respective angiogenesis activity of the two different MM cell lines. 17-octadecynoic acid (17-ODYA), as a specific inhibitor of P450 enzyme, suppressed HUVECs proliferation and tube formation induced by MM cells. Furthermore, 17-ODYA decreased the EET levels in the supernatant of MM cells. These results suggest that EETs may play an important role in the angiogenesis of MM, and the inhibitor 17-ODYA suppresses this effect.

Objective To observe the effects of low frequency electromagnetic fields (LFEMFs) on the proliferation of human epidermal stem cells (hESCs) cultured in a three dimensional environment so as to provide an experimental basis for applying LFEMF in skin tissue engineering.Methods hESCs from human prepuces were isolated and purified by the method of rapid adherence to collagen type ⅣV. They were grafted into a type-I collagen sponge or chitosan scaffold in vitro, and then stimulated with different frequencies of LFEMF ( 1 Hz, 10 Hz or 50 Hz) at a magnetic field intensity of 5 mT for 30 min/d. The cells' growth and proliferation were tracked using hematoxylin and eosin (HE) and diamine pheny1 indole (DAPI) staining and observed under the scanning electron microscope at different time points ( on 2nd, 7th, 10th and 14th days of LFEMF intervention). The amounts of cell proliferation at every time point were analyzed and compared.Results LFEMFs of different frequencies showed significantly different efficacy in promoting hESC proliferation. The two scaffolds also showed significantly different effects.By the 10th day, hESCs had grown significantly better on collagen sponge scaffolds than on the chitosan ones. All LFEMF frequencies could promote proliferation of hESCs, but the differences in their effects were statistically significant.Conclusion Collagen sponge may be a preferable scaffold for hESCs cultured in vitro. Rapid proliferation of ESCs in three-dimensional settings can be promoted by LFEMF intervention. LFEMF has relatively great potential in skin tissue engineering.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy,safety and clinical value of anterior urethral fusion to treat diphallia.MethodsA 17-year-old male patient with complete penile diphallia was treated in March 2011.The physical examination showed two completely separated mature penis; urethrography,and urethroscope showed the two urethras were completely separated and entered the bladder respectively.Two anterior urethras were incised respectively at ventral sides ( from the meatus to bulbar urethra) and then two incised anterior urethras were splintered by a continuous suture with 4-0 polyglactin sutures in side and side.Two penises were splintered into one.The nocturnal penile tumescence test and the penis vibration thresholds were assessed before,and after surgery..ResultsThe patient was followed up for 12 months.There was no hematoma,urinary fistula,urinary incontinence and other complications postoperatively.The penis was recovered with normal appearance; urination and morning erection of penile were normal.6 months after surgery,there was no significant difference in the nocturnal penile tumescence and penis vibration thresholds detection ( P ＞ 0.05).ConclusionThe operation of anterior urethral fusion is a safe and efficient surgical treatment to treat partial complete penile diphallia with less complication and no worse effect on urination and erection of penile.

Objective To evaluate the technique and outcome of arthroscopic reconstruction of posterior cruciate ligament(PCL)with preservation of the remnants.Methods From January 2006 to January 2009.16 knees in 16 patients with PCL tear were verified with arthroscopy.All the damaged PCL were reconstructed with single bundle of autogenous quadrupled hamstring tendons under arthroscopy without remove of the remnants of PCL.Endo-button and Bio-absorbabh interference screw were used for direct anatomic fixation of the reconstructed ligament.Results No severe complication occurred in early stage after operation in the 16 patients.All of them were followed up from 4 to 14 months with an average of (7.4±2.1)months.Lysholm score was remarkable improved from mean(61.3±8.7)preoperative scores to mean(91.7±6.3)scores at the latest follow up(P＜0.05).Furthermore,there was a significant improvement in IKDC scofe from abnormal (grade C)in 9 knees and severely abnormal (grade D)in 7 knees preoperatively to normal(grade A)in 11 knees,nearly normal(grade B)in 5 knees at the follow up.All of the 16 patients returned to the same sports level before injury.Conclusion Arthroscopic reconstruction of PCL with preservadon of the remnants has advantages of minimal inmmrticular interference,and potential facility to revagculization and reinnervation of the reconstlucted ligament.
