Objective To evaluate the effects of allograft fusion cage(AFC) on anterior cervical interbody fusion. Methods AFCs were implanted in 61 degenerative cervical intervertebral spaces of 39 cases, who needed anterior cervical interbody fusion from September 1995 to December 1999. 31 cases were diagnosed as cervical spondylolysis, 2 cases as acute protrusion of cervical intervertebral disc and 6 cases as fracture and dislocation of cervical spine. The clinical effects and complications were observed, and the postoperative presentations of X- ray examination of cervical spine were also evaluated. Results Thirty- nine cases were followed up with a mean period of 28.6 months. No neurologic complications appeared, and no AFCs shifted or dislocated. The clinical effects were satisfactory. 61 intervertebral spaces were confirmed to be solid fused completely by constant X- ray examination at 3.9 months in average after operation. There were no collapse or angular deformities in 59 spaces of them, the other 2 spaces lost a little height because of removal of external fixation too early. Conclusion The implantation of AFC was simple, stable, less injury with similar intervertebral osseous fusion rate compared to the conventional anterior cervical interbody fusion. Forthermore, the implantation of AFC does not need auto iliac crest graft or the use of metal fixations. Some complications caused by implanting auto iliac crest and metal fixations can be avoided.

Objective:To determine taurocholic acid (TCA) and taurodeoxycholic acid (TDCA) in artificial snake gall. Methods: HPLC was used in the quantitative analysis with spherisorb C 18 column, methyl alcohol 0.02 mol/L phosphric buffer (60∶40) as a mobile phase and detection wavelength at 210nm. Results: The linear range of TCA was from 0.28672 mg/mL to 2.8672 mg/mL, and the linear range of TDCA was from 0.26842 mg/mL to 2.6842 mg/mL. The average recoveries were 97.65% for TCA and 95.81% for TDCA. RSD were 0.79% and 3.27%, respectively. Conclusion: This method is simple and accurate.

The employment of university graduates is currently essential to the social stability and people’s livelihood. There are great needs of university graduates and professionals who are capable of staying and working at rural communities and make services and achievements for the new rural development. It is a problem to be concerned by the government and university encouraging medical graduates to serve the rural people. The paper made some considerations and analyses on the government policy and career-making mechanism to lead medical graduates to the rural communities.

Objective To observe the proliferation inhibition and apoptosis promotion effect of oridonin on PC-3 cells. Methods PC-3 cells were treated with different concentrations of oridonin.MTT assay and drug concentration-time survival curve were used to test the effect of oridonin on the PC-3 cells. The percentage of earlier apoptosis cells was analyzed by flow cytometry. The protein expression of caspase-3,Bcl-2,and Bax in the PC-3 cells was detected by Western blot. Results Oridonin effectively inhibited the proliferation of PC-3 cells in both concentration- and time-dependent manner, and the IC50 of PC-3 cells was 10.29 μmol/L.Hochest33258 staining and flow eytometry deteced that oridonin induced the apoptosis of PC-3 cells in a concentration-dependent manner (P < 0.05 ).Oridonin down-regulated Bcl-2,up-regulated Bax protein, and activated caspase-3 in a concentration-dependent manner in the PC-3 cells. Conclusion The apoptosis of PC-3 cells induced by oridonin might be associated with the mitochondrial pathway.

Chronic atrophic gastritis is a common and intractable disease of digestive in clinical. Chinese medicine is an important treatment method of this disease. It is said in Yellow Emperor that you must know the reason to seize the key. So explore the pathogenesis of the disease is the key to understanding the disease and the premise of Chinese medicine treatment of disease in traditional Chinese medicine. In recent years, many medical literature for chronic atrophic gastritis were reported. This article focuses on organizing the etiology and pathogenesis of the research literatures to comprehensively analyze the formation mechanism of the disease, and lay a solid foundation for further effective treatment search.

Object To develop a new method of discriminating the principle components of Radix Paeoniae Rubra (RPR) from different areas, and to find the reason for forming high-quality of RPR in the place of the genuine. Methods Using Foruier transform infrared (FTIR) absorption spectrometry, the characteristic peaks of fingerprint infrared spectra of RPR samples from 18 habitats were recognized and compared. Results Frequency, intensity and shape of infrared absorption spectra were obviously different between wild and cultivated groups of RPR. The infrared absorption peaks of RPR in Duolun, a famous Chinese orthodox drug, were of distinct characteristics. Conclusion FTIR technique is first applied to rapid analysis of principle component of RPR from different areas. So an operable method in the quality control and discrimination of RPR in the place of the genuine is provided.

AIM: To establish a HPLC digitized fingerprints of Panax Ginseng rubra to control its quality. METHODS: The chromatographic fingerprints were determined by injecting 20 ?L of the sample solution each time on a Century SIL C_ 18 AQ column (20 cm?4.6 mm, 5 ?m) with the gradient elution solvent system composed of 0.1 mol/L NaH_2PO_4 aqueous solution-acetonitrile. The flow rate was 1 mL/min, the column temperature was maintained at (30?0.15)℃ and the signals were acquired at 203 nm. The chromatographic fingerprints were evaluated by both the chromatographic fingerprint index (F) and the information index of chromatographic fingerprint (I) and so on. RESULTS: 30 co-possessing peaks were selected as the fingerprint peaks and the similarities between each of the ten batches and the referential chromatographic fingerprints of Panax Ginseng rubra were calculated while taking adenosine peak as the reference peak. CONCLUSION: This method with good characteristics and specificity can be used in the quality control of Panax Ginseng rubra.

Objective To compare the radiographic and clinical outcomes of uniaxial and polyaxial locking plates used in the treatment of complex intraarticular calcaneal fractures. Methods A retrospective comparative study was performed on the 50 patients with intraarticular calcaneal fracture (Sanders types Ⅲ and Ⅳ) who had been treated by uniaxial locking plates (n =26) or polyaxial locking plates (n =24) between January 2013 and June 2015.Operation time, intraoperative bleeding, union time, radiological and functional outcomes and functions by the Maryland foot score were compared between the 2 groups. Results All the patients were followed up for 12 to 44 months(average,20.8 months). There were no significant differences between the 2 groups in average operation time (105.2 ± 18.2 min versus 95.5 ± 17.7 min),average intraoperative bleeding (125.2 ±23.4 mL versus 120.3 ±21.5 mL),or union time (12.1 ± 3.7 weeks versus 11.8 ± 3.7 weeks) (P > 0.05).All patients obtained bony union. The polyaxial locking plates group displayed significantly better B(o)hler and Gissane angles at 3 and 12 months after operation than the uniaxial locking plates group (P < 0.05).Evaluated by the Maryland foot score, the excellent and good rate for the polyaxial locking plates group [91.7% (22/24)] was insignificantly higher than that for the uniaxial locking plates group [84.6% (22/26)] (P =0.267).Conclusions Both uniaxial locking and polyaxial locking plates can lead to satisfactory therapeutic outcomes for complex intraarticular calcaneal fractures, but polyaxial locking plates may be superior in stability and functional recovery.
