Objective To observe the neural protective subsidiary effect of Wenyang Yiqi method on patients with severe traumatic brain injury under mild hypothermia therapy. Methods A prospective study was conducted in which 53 patients with severe traumatic brain injury treated by mild hypothermia were randomly divided into control group (26 cases) and observation group (27 cases). All the patients in the two groups received conventional western treatment combined with mild hypothermia therapy. In the observation group, additionally was given the representative drug of Wenyang Yiqi method, Shenfu injection 100 mL mixed into 5% glucose 500 mL intravenous drip once a day. At the end of mild hypothermia, the Shenfu injection was stopped. After treatment, the changes of intracranial pressure (ICP) on 1 (the day the treatment began), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 days and the indexes levels, including S-100B, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and creatinkinase (CK) in the cranial spinal fluid (CSF) before treatment and 2, 4, 6 days after treament (CSF) were observed. The Glasgow coma score (GCS) before treament and 3, 5, 7, 14, 28 days after treament, and Glasgow outcome scale (GOS) on 28 days and 3 months after treatment were recorded, and the incidences of complications were calculated at the end of therapy. Results After treatment with the prolongation of therapeutic time, the levels of ICP were gradually increased in two groups and reached the peak values on the 4th day, then beganto fall, and on the 5th day it was significantly lower in observation group than that in control group [ICP (mmHg, 1 mmHg = 0.133 kPa): 16.11±1.23 vs. 18.73±1.42], persisting the same situation to the 7th day (14.17±0.80 vs. 16.94±1.00,P < 0.05). The levels of S-100 B in the two groups were progressively decreased after the treatment, on the 2nd day it was significantly lower in observation group than that in control group (μg/L: 1.21±0.43 vs. 1.86±0.57, P < 0.05), also persisting to the 6th day (0.40±0.09 vs. 0.94±0.15,P < 0.05); the levels of LDH and CK reached the peak values on the 2nd day, then began to fall, they were significantly lower in the observation group than those in the control group on the 4th day [LDH (U/L): 63.43±12.21 vs. 80.11±14.34, CK (U/L): 52.41±14.14 vs. 88.37±12.21, bothP < 0.05], and on the 6th day still there were statistically significant differences between the two groups. The GCS before treatment showed no statistically significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05); after treatment, the GCS score of the two groups was progressively improved, and on the 14th day the score in the observation group began significantly higher than that in the control group (11.74±1.24 vs. 9.41±2.11,P < 0.05), persisting the same situation to the 28th day (12.68±2.51 vs. 10.67±1.99,P < 0.05). On the 28th day after treatment, the GOS showed no statistically significant difference between the two groups (2.35±0.16 vs. 2.43±0.22,P > 0.05), but the score in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group after treatment for 3 months (4.11±0.38 vs. 3.72±0.41, P < 0.05). The incidences of complications in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group [respiratory failure: 25.9% (7/27) vs. 50.0% (13/26), shock: 18.5% (5/27) vs. 53.8% (14/26), acute pulmonary edema: 14.8% (4/27) vs. 30.8% (8/26), stress ulcer: 22.2% (6/27) vs. 57.7% (15/26), hypoproteinemia: 40.7% (11/27) vs. 73.1% (19/26), allP < 0.05].Conclusion Wenyang Yiqi method has the subsidiary neural protective effect on patients with severe traumatic brain injury treated by mild hypothermia, and can improve their outcome.

Scanning parameters were as followed : 120 kV , 200~250 mAs , collimation 0.5mm, pitch 0.625 or 0.875,scan time 0.75s/ring, matrix 512?512.Collimation and reformation interval were 0.5~1.0 mm and 0.2~0.5 mm separately, except for FNC,in which were 0.5 mm and 0.2 mm separately.Reformation matrix was all 1024?1024.Results Of all cases , the images of CPR in 11 were unsatisfied because of the head shaking during the scanning, in other 256 cases , images could show the whole length of canals clearly. In FNC,178 cases were normal , 18 cases had congenital abnormal in the external , middle or inner ear accompanied with changes of length , course and position. 8 cases of otomastoiditis accompanied with cholesteatoma involving facial canal. In 21 cases of temporal bone trauma accompanied with traumatic facial palsy, fracture lines or bony fragments of the FNC were found in 9 cases. 2 cases of facial nerve tumor and 2 cases of jugular foramen schwannoma accompanied with facial canal destruction.24 cases of ONCs were normal. Fracture lines or bony fragments of ONCs were found in 3 cases. Narrowing of ONC was found in 1 cases of fibrous dysplasia.Normal carotid canal was seen in 2 cases, there were 2 cases of carotid canal fracture.1 cases of bony destruction of carotid canal caused by cholesteatoma of petrous apex. Jugular foramen was normal in 2 cases. Destruction and enlargement of jugular foramen were found in 2 cases of schwannoma. In 1 cases, hypoglossal nerve canal was normal. Destruction and enlargement of hypoglossal nerve canal were found in the other cases of schwannoma. Mandibular canal were normal in 4 cases and was involved in 2 cases by mandibular osteomyelitis and mandibular fracture, respectively, and 1 case by mandibular tumor. Conclusion The bony canals in craniofacial regions can be shown clearly by CPR with multislice spiral CT . It can provide more valuable informations than that of the axial scan and multiplanar reformation in the diagnosis of diseases of craniofacial region and was the important supplement of routine CT scan.

Objective To investigate the imaging presentation of T-and NK/T-cell lymphomas with different pathology subtypes on 18F-FDG PET/CT.Methods A total of 95 patients (66 males, 29 females, average age 38.42 years) with T-and NK/T-cell lymphoma proved by pathology from June 2006 to February 2016 were retrospectively analyzed.18F-FDG uptake (SUVmax), nodal invasion, nodal distribution, extra-nodal involvement and staging were compared among 7 pathological subtypes of T-and NK/T-cell lymphomas.One-way analysis of variance, Fisher exact test and Kruskal-Wallis H test were used for data analysis. Results There were significant differences in terms of 18F-FDG uptake, nodal invasion, nodal distribution, extra-nodal involvement and staging among different pathological subtypes of T-and NK/T-cell lymphomas (F=2.937, P<0.05;Fisher exact test, all P<0.01;H=19.883, P<0.01).NK/T-cell lymphoma was found to be prone to invade the nasal cavity and nasopharynx, enteropathic type T-cell lymphoma was specific to the intestine, and subcutaneous panniculitis-like T-cell lymphoma presented with subcutaneous infiltration. All those 3 subtypes were quite specific in their extra-nodal involvement. Most patients with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (ATCL), peripheral unspecified T-cell lymphoma (PUTCL) and T immunoblastic lymphoma (TIBL) presented as stage Ⅳ disease.Widespread lymph node disease associated with splenic, parotid and serous membrane involvement were often seen in ATCL patients (most commonly to involve the parotid glands and serous membrane among the 7 subtypes).Nodal involvement was found in PUTCL patients, but extranodal involvement was rather non-specific.TIBL had a non-specific pattern of nodal involvement with low 18F-FDG uptake, lower than ATCL and the other 5 subtypes.Anaplastic large cell lymphoma subtypes had the highest 18F-FDG uptake when compared with the other 6 subtypes, but were less often to manifest as stage Ⅳ disease despite their preponderance for marrow and nodal infiltration. Conclusion Different pathological subtypes of T-and NK/T-cell lymphoma manifest different imaging presentations on 18F-FDG PET/CT, which are useful for understanding their biological characteristics.
