Chinese Journal of Internal Medicine 2012;51(4):308-310
Objective To investigate the relationship between plasma level of homocysteine (Hcy) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).Methods The differences of Hcy,Vitamin B12,and folate levels between 150 outpatients with ALS and 137 age and sex matched controls were compared in a cross-sectional study. Results Compared with the healthy controls, patients with ALS had a higher plasma Hcy level [ ( 18.47 ± 13.09) μmol/L vs ( 11.91 ± 5.37 ) μmol/L,P < 0.001 ] and a lower folate level [ ( 8.39 ±4.45) ng/ml vs (10.38 ±5.01) ng/ml,P <0.001].In a logistic regression model using ALS as a dependent variable, plasma level of Hcy was significantly associated with ALS.A trend for higher Hcy levels in patients with shorter interval from symptom onset to diagnosis ( ODI ) was also found [ Hcy levels (20.73 ± 15.79 ) μmol/L with ODI < 19 months vs ( 16.41 ± 9.73 ) μmol/L with ODI ≥ 19 months,P =0.035 ].Conclusions Plasma Hcy level is significantly increased in patients with ALS.The individuals with shorter time to diagnosis present higher Hcy level, suggesting that it may associate with the progression pace of ALS.
5.Advances in Study on Affecting Pathway of Intestinal Flora on Brain
Chinese Journal of Gastroenterology 2017;22(9):572-574
Intestinal flora plays an important role in promoting digestion, maintaining intestinal physiological function and regulating immune system. In recent years,it is found that intestinal flora not only regulates intestinal activity, but also affects the brain function and behavior. Early studies have shown that changes in probiotics may lead to alteration in brain function and mood. Studying the influence of intestinal flora on brain function helps us to catch on the pathogenesis of mental disorders such as autism, and expand our comprehension on the mechanism of brain activity as well. This article reviewed the advances in study on affecting pathway of intestinal flora on brain.

Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2000;0(06):-
Microparticles in the peripheral blood are generated from the activated blood cells and vascular endothelial cells. Microparticles reflect the functional situations of their original cells directly and specifically, provide the basis for revelation of mechanisms and development trends of hematological or vascular diseases and also serve as the indications for differentiation diagnosis and evaluation of clinical treatment. Therefore it is very important to detect microparticles. This article will explain the present detection methods and the correlation of microparticles with diseases to provide basis and strategy for further study.

Journal of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University 2016;40(7):562-564
Objective]To investigate the effect of acupuncture-assisted anesthesia on cerebral state index(CSI) under the steady-state anesthesia of sevoflurane. [Methods] Fifty patients scheduled for elective knee arthroscopy operation were randomly divided into two groups with 25 in each. All patients were induced with sevoflurane, the end-tidal concentrations of sevoflurane in two groups were adjusted to 1.0 MAC and maintained for 15 min after tracheal intubation, acupuncture-assisted anesthesia was used on the affected side in group A, Yanglingquan(GB34) and Zusanli(ST36) were selected as the acupoints. The positive and negative electrodes of the electropuncture apparatus(G8650) were respectively connected with Yanglingquan(GB34) and Zusanli(ST36). People reccived transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation with condensation-rarefaction wave(2/15 Hz, 8~12mA) untill the end of operation, patiant's body types SBP, SDP, MAP, HR and CSI were recorded at lying still for 5 min(T1), steady state of sevoflurane(T2), acupuncture-assisted anesthesia after 20 and 30 min(T3, T4). [Results] SBP, DBP, MBP, HR and CSI at T3~T4 were significantly lower in group A than those in group B and T2(P<0.05). [Conclusion]Acupuncture-assisted anesthesia can reduce the CSI under the steady-state anesthesia of sevoflurane and lower blood pressure and heart rate at the same time.
