Objective:To evaluate the effects and adverse reactions of external skin care products containing oltides and bio-polysaccharides on epidermaligopep barrier function of sensitive skin. Methods:From December 2019 to July 2020, there were 30 sensitive skin volunteers diagnosed and treated in the dermatology clinic of Beijing Tongren Hospital, including 3 males and 27 females, aged 18-57 years, with an average of 34 years, and the course of disease was 1-10 years, with an average of 5.75 years. They were treated once with products containing oligopeptides and biopolysaccharides on the day of enrollment. Before treatment, 1 week and 4 weeks after treatment, we observed and evaluated through VISIA analysis; skin physiological index measurement, subjective and objective improvement assessment, and product safety were evaluated through questionnaire surveys. Results:The VISIA data showed that the red zone was significantly lower than the baseline, and the data at the 4th week and before treatment were significantly improved ( P<0.05). On skin physiology, the test showed that after treatment, the difference between two follow-up visits and the water content before was statistically significant ( P<0.05). TEWL value after 4 weeks of treatment was significantly improved as compared with the baseline ( P<0.05). During the entire study process, no adverse reactions related to the product occurred. Conclusions:This skin care product containing oligopeptides and biopolysaccharides can increase the water content of the sensitive skin, reduce the water loss through the skin, and improve the skin barrier function. Meanwhile, no server adverse reaction is detected through the whole experiment.

Objective:To analyze the characteristics of adverse events of active medical devices in Shandong province, as well as the impact of device use duration on the risk rate of adverse events, for reference in improving the monitoring system of active medical device adverse events in China and the level of hospital medical quality management. Methods:The data came from the adverse event reporting data of active medical devices collected by Shandong Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Center from January 2019 to October 2021. The R software was used to analyze the distribution, cause and severity of adverse events, and a linear regression model of adverse event risk rate(Y) and adverse event time point(X) was established. Results:A total of 35 254 adverse events of active devices were included, of which 3 059 were serious injuries. The province/municipality with the largest number of reported adverse events was Shanghai(8 006 cases), and the least was Hainan province(4 cases); The majority of adverse events were reported by hospitals, with 34 056(96.60%). The medical devices reporting a higher number of adverse events were ventilators(688 cases), monitors(4 623 cases), infusion pumps(1 079 cases), syringe infusion pumps(1 995 cases), medical electron accelerators(529 cases)and infant incubators(513 cases). In the linear regression model, the risk rate of adverse events increased with the useduration of the device when 0.00%≤ X<14.14%; the risk rate of adverse events decreased with the increase of service time when 14.14%≤ X<100.00%. Conclusions:The number of adverse events reported in each province is different, and hospitals are the main reporting units. The causes of adverse events of different medical devices indicate different correlation strengths with the product itself. The use duration of medical devices poses a great impact on the risk rate of adverse events.

Objective:To investigate the characteristics of early myocardial mechanics changes in diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM).Method:Sixty healthy 4-week-old male C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into the T2DM group ( n=30) and the control group ( n=30). The T2DM group was fed with high-fat diet for 4 weeks, and accepted injection of a single high-dose of streptozotocin (STZ) intraperitoneally. Finally, the model was established successfully in 23 mice. The control group was fed with a normal diet and treated with citrate buffer liquid at an equal dose as T2DM group. Then, nine mice were randomly selected from each of the two groups every 4 weeks until the end of the 24th week. Six of the nine mice were randomly selected to perform 7.0 T MR scanning after measuring blood glucose and body weight. Cine images were acquired through cardiovascular MR feature tracking (CMR-FT). The obtained parameters included the left ventricle global peak circumferential strain (LV-GPCS), left ventricle global peak radial strain(GPRS) and the ejection fraction (EF), etc. The rest three mice were sacrificed for observation of the changes of interstitial fibers and micro-vessels in myocardial tissue with Sirius red staining. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and t test were used for comparison. Results:There were significant differences in blood glucose levels between the two groups during the observation period ( P<0.05). In the 4 th-24 th week, the value of GPCS in T2DM group showed a downward trend, and the difference was statistically significant ( F = 8.23, P<0.001). Compared with the control group, the value of GPCS in T2DM group was statistically significant at the 20 th and 24 th week (the 20 th week: -11.4%±2.1% in the T2DM group vs. -14.3%±1.9% in the control group, t=2.54, P=0.029;the 24 th week: -12.3%±1.7% in the T2DM group vs. -14.6%±1.8% in the control group, t=2.35 , P=0.040), while the EF value was different at the 24 th week (51%±5% in the T2DM group vs. 62%±6% in the control group, t=3.38, P=0.007). There was no significant difference in the GPRS of the T2DM mice group over time or compared with the controls ( P>0.05). Moreover, the pathological results showed that the myocardial interstitial fibers in the T2DM group had remarkably increased since the 12 th week. Conclusions:The alterations in myocardial interstitial fibers and myocardial contractility appeared early in T2DM mice. Especially, the left ventricle global peak circumferential strain value is superior to the EF value in reflecting the early changes in DCM.

Objective:To explore the effects of general anesthesia and combined spinal and epidural anesthesia on inflammatory factors and pain in patients with osteoarthritis after total knee arthroplasty. Methods:A total of 84 patients with osteoarthritis who underwent unilateral total knee arthroplasty in Hulunbuir People's Hospital from January 2020 to May 2021 were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into general anesthesia group (40 cases) and combined spinal and epidural anesthesia group (44 cases). Venous blood samples of 5 ml were collected before operation and 6, 24, 48 hours after operation, and the contents of inflammatory factors [tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6] in serum were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The visual analogue pain scale (VAS) of the two groups at 30 min, 6, 24 and 48 hours after operation was compared. Results:At 6 and 24 hours after operation, TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 levels in the combined spinal and epidural anesthesia group were lower than those in the general anesthesia group ( t = 4.17, 3.85, 8.95, 10.98, 10.04, 9.87, P < 0.05). There were significant differences in the levels of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 at different time points between the general anesthesia group and combined spinal and epidural anesthesia group ( F = 271.67, 149.26, 81.70, 189.36, 102.44, 157.32, P < 0.001). At 6 and 24 hours after operation, the VAS scores of patients in the combined spinal and epidural anesthesia group were significantly lower than those in the general anesthesia group ( t = 6.60, 3.66, P < 0.05). There were statistically significant differences in VSA scores between the two groups at different time points ( F = 67.47, 52.37, P < 0.05). Conclusion:The effect of combined spinal and epidural anesthesia is significantly higher than general anesthesia in inhibiting the expression of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 in patients with osteoarthritis after operation, and the effect of analgesia is obvious.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2023;40(1):60-69
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common liver malignancy, where HCC segmentation and prediction of the degree of pathological differentiation are two important tasks in surgical treatment and prognosis evaluation. Existing methods usually solve these two problems independently without considering the correlation of the two tasks. In this paper, we propose a multi-task learning model that aims to accomplish the segmentation task and classification task simultaneously. The model consists of a segmentation subnet and a classification subnet. A multi-scale feature fusion method is proposed in the classification subnet to improve the classification accuracy, and a boundary-aware attention is designed in the segmentation subnet to solve the problem of tumor over-segmentation. A dynamic weighted average multi-task loss is used to make the model achieve optimal performance in both tasks simultaneously. The experimental results of this method on 295 HCC patients are superior to other multi-task learning methods, with a Dice similarity coefficient (Dice) of (83.9 ± 0.88)% on the segmentation task, while the average recall is (86.08 ± 0.83)% and an F1 score is (80.05 ± 1.7)% on the classification task. The results show that the multi-task learning method proposed in this paper can perform the classification task and segmentation task well at the same time, which can provide theoretical reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment of HCC patients.
