This paper summarizes the experiences of observation and nursing of postoperative complications in 28 patients underwent orthopedic surgery for correction of severe kyphoscoliosis, the Cobb's angle was(150.0±25.3)°. Postoperative nursing focused on monitoring of patients' vital signs, observation of the feeling and motor function of lower limbs and wound drainage, nursing care of gastrointestinal reaction and respiratory complications. The postoperative complications were controlled effectively after timely treatment. There was no any severe complications of spine-cord injury after stage-II surgery.

Objective To investigate the roles of hemopoietic stem cells (HSCs) in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Methods HSCs were isolated from the bone marrow of a patient with psoriasis vulgaris and a normal human control. Forward- and reverse-subtracted cDNA libraries were constructed by using suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) technique between HSCs from the patient and control. Bacterial PCR and dot hybridization were performed to screen for positive clones followed by gene sequencing, identification and functional analysis. Real time quantitative PCR was carried out to measure the mRNA expression of interferon-γ and thymosin 10 (TMSB10). Results Nine genes were screened from the forward-subtracted cDNA library which encoded interferon-γ, tyrosine phosphatase, SUMO1 activase, etc, and 8 genes including the TMSB10-encoding gene were screened from the reverse-subtracted cDNA library. The relative expression level of interferon-γ in HSCs from the patient was 47.5 times that in HSCs from the control, while the level of TMSB10 from the control was 22.6 times that from the patient. Conclusion The abnormal expression of 17 genes which encode interferon-γ, thyrosin, and so on, may be involved in the development of psoriasis.

AIM:To investigate the effect of calcitonin gene related peptide(CGRP)on the expression of cyclic AMP response element binding protein(CREB)and phosphorylated-CREB in rat parietal cortex during focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion(I/R).METHODS:Focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion model was induced by occlusion of the right middle cerebral artery using the intraluminal suture method. The expressions of CREB and phospho-CREB in the parietal cortex in different groups(sham group, focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion group and CGRP group)were detected with immunohistochemistry and Western blotting, and the positive products were analyzed by image analysis system.RESULTS:There was definite expression of CREB in right parietal cortex in sham group, while it was lesser in I/R group than that in sham group, but it became more in CGRP group than that in I/R group(P

Objective To evaluate the use safety of a unitary package peracetic acid ( PAA) disinfectant through acute and subacute toxicity experiments in rats. Methods This study was conducted according to the Technical Standard For disinfection ( Version 2002 ) .In the acute toxicity experiment, 60 healthy Wistar rats were randomly divided into different groups of PAA given by single intragastric gavage.Symptoms of poisoning of the animals were observed to calculate the half lethal dose ( LD50 ) .In the subacute toxicity experiment, 40 healthy Wistar rats were randomly divided into three dose groups and negative control group. The rats were given 33-342 mg/kg BW PAA for 28 days.At the end of test, the body weight, the organ-to-body weight ratio and the hematological and biochemical indices were determined, and pathological examination was performed. Results The acute oral LD50 of female rats was 1470 mg/kg BW, and the LD50 of male rats was 1710 mg/kg bw.The results of subacute toxicity test showed that the body weight, the organ-to-body weight ratio and the hematological and biochemical indices had no significant difference between the dose groups and control group. No obvious abnormality was observed in gross anatomy and histopathological examination. Conclusions The results of the acute toxicity test prove that PAA has a low toxicity level, and no significant subacute toxicity was observed at the exposure doses.

Objective To investigate the diagnosis value of immunophenotype and karyotypes in newly diagnosed chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).Methods To retrospect the flow cytometry (FCM) immunophenotype and karyotypes characteristics in newly diagnosed 70 CLL cases. Results In all cases, the positive rates of CD19,CD20,CD5,CD23,CD22 were 100 %,88.5 % (54/61),77.1% (54/70),67.6 % (23/34)and 51.9 % (27/52),respectively.And 6 were misdiagnosed,2 was CD+5CD+19(+),but CD20,CD22 were strongly positive, final diagnosed as mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) by FISH t(11;14) examination and CyclinDl; CD+5CD+19(-) CLL were 16 cases (22.9 %),but 4 were misdiagnosed, the misdiagnosis rate was 25 %,significantly higher than that of CD+5CD+19(-) CLL (P =0.030).59 cases were examined by conventional cytogcnetic (CC),and 13 cases were with abnormal karyotypes, positive rate was 22.0 %,with complex karyotypes in 5 cases (8.5 %); 10 cases combined with FISH abnormalities karyotype examination rate was 60 %.Conclusion Typical CLL immunophenotypic characteristics were CD5,CD19,CD23 co-expression,and CD-5 CLL with higher misdiagnosis rate, combined with CD20 (,) CD22 expression and karyotype analysis helps to CLL and other B lymphoid proliferative diseases (B-LPD) identification.Conventional cytogenetic detection combined with FISH scan can improve the recognition ability of abnormal chromosome.

Objective To investigate the intervention of ciliary enurotrophic factors(CNTF)on weightlessness-induced muscle atrophy and its myofiber phenotype transition. Methods Tail-suspended (hindlimb unloading)of adult male Wistar rats were used to create the mode J of weightlessness-induced muscle atrophy. The effect of CNTF treatment on weightlessness-induced muscle atrophy and its myofiber phenotype transition was determined by analyzing the expression changes of MHCI/IIb and p130 or Myf5 with RT-PCR and Western blot. Results CNTF treatment in vivo markedly reversed weightlessness-induced muscle weight IOSS selectively in the slow-twitch muscle soleus. Moreover, during tail suspension, soleus weight loss and myofiber phenotype transition indicated that CNTF treatment could sigificantly attenuate the weight loss and slow to fast myofiber phenotrype transition in soleus compared with control(CNTF untreated and tail suspended).Furthermore,it was showed that the CNTF-induced intervention effect was associated with the protein level upregulation of muscle satellite cell-specific markers,P130 and Myf5.The satellite cell pool in CNTFtreated soleus was increased. Conclusion It iS firstly demonstrated that CNTF can attenuate weightlessness-induced muscle atrophy and its myofiber phenotype transition to be through the increase of satellite cell pool in soleus.

Objective To explore the diagnostic value of reticulocyte related parameters in thalassemia and iron deficiency anemia(IDA) .Methods Ret% ,Ret# ,IRF ,LFR ,MFR ,MFR and Ret-He were detected in 56 cases of IDA (IDA group) ,48 cases of thalassemia (thalassemia group) and 45 healthy individuals undergoing the physical examinations(control group) by adopting the XN-1000 automated blood cells analyzer .Then the results were compared among 3 groups .Results Ret% ,Ret # ,IRF ,MFR and HFR in the IDA group and thalassemia group were higher than those in the control group ,the differences were statistically significant (P<0 .05);Ret-He and LFR in the IDA group and thalassemia group were lower than those in the control group ,the differences were statistically significant (P< 0 .05) .The Ret-He level had statistically significant difference between the IDA group and thalassemia group (P<0 .05) .LFR% in the thalassemia group was sig-nificantly decreased compared with the IDA group (P<0 .05) .Conclusion The reticulocyte parameters have the important significance in clinical differentiation diagnosis of thalassemia and IDA .
