Objective To evaluate the application value of DSA diagnosis and interventional therapy in gas-trointestinal hemorrhage. Methods 36 cases of gastrointestinal hemorrhage used DSA examination, according to the reason and position,26 cases of the patients that were positive of DSA opacification utilized interventional therapy with different embolic agents or vasopressin peffusion. Results 26 cases of patients in 36 had gastrointestinal hemorrhage, 12 cases of patients in 16 that have extravasation of contrast media were hemostasis by treating with embolization ther-apy and vasopressin peffusion, hemorrhage of eholecyst and biliary tract after operation,the patients of small intestinal hemorrhage, gastroduodenal hemorrhage after the operation of pancreatic carcinoma were embolized with gelfoam ,PVAand/or colis were done. The stopped bleeding immediately oceured in 84. 6% (22/26). Conclusion DSA are more valuable methods for the diagnosis of gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Arterial embolization and/or perfusion of vasoconl-rictor substance for treatment of hemorrhage of digestive tract is safe, effec is reliable.

Objective To isolate and classigy the bacteriophages specific to Pseudomonas aetuginosa and to investigate biofilm control efficaey of the isolated virulent phages.Methods With P. aeruginosa clinical strains as indicators.bacteriophages were isolated by screening difierent environmental samples.Classification of the isolated phages was done with the methods of restriction fragment analysis of phage genome and host range analysis.Transmission electron microscopy(TEM)was used in phage morphology study.In biogilm control tests,TJC729 was used as the jndicator strain to study the biofilm control efficacy of the isolated phages.Results Total 13 lytic phages specific to P.aeruginosa strains were isolated and named as C1-C13.According to the result of restriction fragment analysis.all 13 phages were double-stranded DNA viruses and could be divided into eight groups.Host range experiments were conducted with 5 laboratory strains and 12 clinical strains of P. aeruginosa.The same infection profiles were observed among phage C1 and C13,C6 and C7,and C9 and C11,respectively.While the remaining 7 phages each had different unique infection profile.Phage C1 was selected randomly to study its morphology.The obtained images showed that phage C1 had an icosahedral head with a non-contractile tail,belonging to the Siphoviridae family.Compared with the single phage,phage cocktail had the best effect on biofilm control.Further experiment results showed that phage C1.C10 and C12 can destroy biofilm after treatment of the biofilm for 24 h.The biofilm amounts were deceased to 32.7%,57.6%and 32.8%of the initial values,respectively.Conclusion Thirteen virulent phages specific to P. aeruginosa had been isolated.The phages could significantly inhibit the biofilm formation and had a certain degree of damage on the biofilm.The results suggested an alternative method for the treatments of P.aeruginosa infections.

Objective:To establish the normal value of McNamara cephalometric analysis in Chongqing adolescents with normal occlusion and to obtain its regression models. Methods:Fifty five Chongqing adolescents with normal occlusion (male 27 and female 28)were taken lateral cephalograms. McNamara analysis was conducted and the correlation analysis was carried out.Results: There were significant differences in the normal values of McNamara analysis between male and female Chongqing adolescents, namely the effective maxillary length, effective mandibular length, lower anterior facial height and A Np line. There were no significant differences in Pog Np line, upper incisor to point A vertical,lower incisor to A P line.There were correlations between the effective maxillary length and effective mandibular length, effective mandibular length and lower anterior facial height, A Np line and Pog Np line, respectively.When effective mandibular length was fixed,lower anterior facial height and Pog Np line was correlated.The regression models were obtained.Conclusion:There is correlation between the linear measurements of the cephalometrics values.

Objective To discuss the feasibility of diagnosis with needle stereotaction marking by steel wire under mammography and biopsy for nonpalpable early stage breast carcinoma.Methods Eighteen patients with doubtful nidus of breast only in X gram were performed needle stereotaction marking by steel wire under mammography, and removal freemartin biopsies of breast nidus were performed then.Results Localization and biopsy were very successful in all 18 patients. Seven patients were definited to have early stage breast carcinomas and eleven benign diseases.The diagnostic rate for nonpalpable early stage breast carcinoma was 100%.Conclusions Needle stereotaction marking by steel wire undermammography finish off the problem locating accurately breast nidus during operation.It was a credible and perfect technique for diagnoses of nonpalpable early stage breast carcinoma.

Objective To investigate the correlation between expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) of serum and tumor tissues and the clinical prognosis in patients with breast cancer. Methods The expressions of VEGF level of serum and tumor tissues in 44 patients with invasive duct breast cancer, 13 with benign breast diseases and 40 healthy controls. Serum VEGF level was measured by ELISA method. The protein expression of tissue VEGF, ER and C-erbB-2 were evaluated by immunohistochemistry LSAB method. Results Serum VEGF level and tissue VEGF expression in breast cancer were higher than those in benign breast diseases (P0.05). VEGF expression was correlated with lymph node metastasis (P 0.05). Conclusion There is positively correlation between serum VEGF level and tissue VEGF expression, and between VEGF expression and clinic prognosis. Serum VEGF level may be one of important index of prognosis estimation in patients with breast cancer.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic value of minimally invasive excision of benign breast lesions using stereotactic mammotome minimally invasive surgery system.Methods Under ultrasonographic image monitoring,1160 breast masses of 310 patients were excised using mammotome minimally invasive stereotactic excision system and sent for pathologic examinations immediatly.Patients′condition was follow-ed up and recorded post-operative.Their clinical data were retrospectively analysed.Results Accurate and complete resection of all of the 1160 breast masses was achieved.The resected tissues were large enough to make pathologic diagnosis.The pathologic diagnoses were all found to be benign,and included: fibroadenoma(n=672),fibroadenosis(n=451),intraductal papilloma(n=12),cyst(n=6),cystic hyperplasia(n=17) and tubular adenoma(n=17).Regular follow up every 6-12 months was done.Postoperative surgical scars were unremarkable,the skin incisions were small and concealed,breast appearance and skin sensation were normal and ultrasonography did not reveal residual lesions or recurrences.Conclusions Complete resection of benign breast lesions can be done with mammotome technique.This technique is safe,accurate and effective.Moreover,there is little trauma,low complication rate,and the breast appearance is not affected.This minimally invasive excision technique for benign breast lesions is suitable for wide use.

Objective To investigate the clinical application value of ultrasonography in excising breast mass with Mammotome vacuum assisted biopsy device and a stereotactic unit(MMT).Methods Guided by ultrasonography,breast masses were biopsy and excised with MMT.The property of masses were identified by pathology.The effects were followed up with ultrasonography.Results Sixty one masses of breast in 34 cases were excised.Pathology showed that 54 were fibroadenoma and 7 were fibroadenosis.The patients had little discomfort in operation and few complications post operation.There were no relapses during short interviews.Conclusions MMT can biopsy and excise the breast mass guided by ultrasonography.The operation has little wound and few complications.It is a useful minimally invasive method which does not influence the appearance of breast.Ultrasonography can insure operation safety and precision.The effects are evaluated immediately.

AIM To optimize the supercritical CO2 extraction of sauchinone and to evaluate the in vitro antitumor activity of Saururi Herba supercritical extract.METHODS With extraction pressure,extraction temperature,extraction time,entrainer (ethanol) concentration and entrainer amount as influencing factors,together with extraction rate of sauchinone as an evaluation index,orthogonal test was used for optimizing the extraction.Then MTT was applied to determining the extract's inhibitory effect on human multidrug-resistant hepatocellular carcinoma cell line (7721/Adm).RESULTS The optimal conditions were determined to be 30 MPa for extraction pressure,50 ℃ for extraction temperature,2 h for extraction time,95％ for ethanol concentration,and one time for ethanol amount,the average extraction rate of sauchinone was 0.173％.The obtained extract significantly inhibited the proliferation of 7721/Adm cells (IC50 =50.08 μg/mL),demonstrating a stronger activity than that of ethanol extract (ICs0 =150.59 μg/mL).CONCLUSION This stable and feasible method is appropriate for sauchinone extraction,and the supercritical CO2 extract from Saururi Herba shows a strong in vitro antitumor activity.

Objective To analyze the clinical features of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) com-plicated by noncirrhotic portal hypertention (NCPH),and improve the recognition of NCPH.Methods Clinical data from SLE complicated by NCPH in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed and summarized,while the related literatures were reviewed.Results Four patients diagnosed as SLE complicated by NCPH were all women.NCPH presented with the clinical features of portal hypertension with normal or slightly elevated transaminase.Anticardiolipin (ACL) antibodies were positive in 2 patients.Two patients underwent liver needle biopsy,showing nodular regenerative hyperplasia,of which,one with liver portal fibrosis.The treatment strategy was managing the primary disorder and controling of portal hypertention in four patients.Twenty-two cases of SLE complicated by NCPH were reviewed and analyzed,including 18 cases from related literatures and our 4 cases.Among the 22 cases,the mean time between the diagnosis of SLE and NCPH was eight years,of which one patient with NCPH before SLE,one diagnosed at the same time and the rest with NCPH after SLE.19％ (4/21) of patients presented with Raynaud's phenomenon and 18％ (4/22) complicated by pulmonary hypertension.In serological tests,patients presented with positive ACL anti-bodies [33％(7/21)] and anti-dsDNA [48％(10/21)],as well as increased IgG and γ-Globulin [38％(8/21)].Liver needle biopsy showed nodular regenerative hyperplasia or liver portal fibrosis with the prevalence of 80％ (16/20) and 25％ (5/20),respectively.Conclusion SLE complicated by NCPH is very rare clinically and is easily being misdiagnosed without obvious symptoms and signs in the early stage.Positive ACL antibodies and Raynaud's phenomenon maybe be closely related to SLE complicated by NCPH.

Objective To investigate the expressions of PTEN and p21 genes in Hazak patients with esophageal can-cer. Methods The expressions of PTEN and p21 genes were detected by RT-PCR in 48 samples (cancer tissues and nor-mal tissues) of patients with esophageal cancer. The relationship between the expressions of PTEN and p21 genes, tumor dif-ferentiation, TNM stage, clinical phase and lymph node metastasis were analyzed. Results The positive rates of PTEN gene were 75%and 45.8%in cancer and distant normal tissues. The expression of PTEN was significantly higher in cancer tis-sues than that of distant normal tissues (χ2=8.537,P＜0.05). The positive rates of p21 gene were 95.8%and 97.9%in cancer and distant normal tissues, and no significant difference between them (χ2=0.344,P>0.05). There was no correlation be-tween expressions of PTEN and p21and the tumor differentiation, the depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis in esopha-geal cancer. Conclusion PTEN and p21 genes are not the primary genes for the carcinogenesis of esophageal cancer in Hazak.
