Breast cancer stem cells (BCSC)are a class of breast cancer cells that have the capacity of selfrenewal and can differentiate into different cell lineages. These cells, with the ability of high tumorigenesis, invasion and metastasis, play a important role in breast cancer metastasis, recurrence and treatment resistance. The treatments targeting on breast cancer stem cells are very important for improving the efficacy of clinical therapy.

This paper directs against the weakness and difficulties of applying conventional fuzzy control method to temperature control, and designs a sort of self-adaptive fuzzy control algorism with intelligent integration which can be applied to a general temperature controller for medical experiment. The practice proves that the control performance is preferable to conventional control, and has good flexibility and robustness.

Aim To study the anti-inflammatory effects and mechanisms of SBM isolated from Scutellariae radix by high hydrostatic pressure. Methods The effect of SBM on ConA-induced splenocyte proliferation and LPS-induced IL-1? production from peritoneal macrophage was studied in vitro, and the therapeutic effects of SBM on adjuvant-induced arthritis,formalin-induced paw oedema and acetic acid-induced vascular permeability were also investigated. Results SBM(31.25~500 mg?L-1)significantly inhibited ConA-induced splenocyte proliferation,IL-1? production from peritoneal macrophages in vitro.SBM 20 mg?kg-1 inhibited primary and secondary inflammatory reaction, decreased the elevated level of IL-1? released from peritoneal macrophages, inhibited splenocyte proliferation in adjuvant-induced arthritis in rats. Moreover,SBM inhibited formalin-induced paw oedema and acetic acid-induced vascular permeability. Conclusions SBM could inhibit inflammatory reaction. Its mechanisms might be related to the suppression of immune function and inhibition on proinflammatory cytokines production.

Objective To determine the median effective dose (ED50) of hemocoagulase agkistrodon (HCA) inhibiting the bleeding after trans-bronchial lung biopsy (TBLB).Methods ASA physical status Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients of both sexes, aged 45-75 yr,body mass index 19-24 kg/m2,scheduled for elective TBLB,were enrolled in this study.TBLB was performed after routine anesthesia.HCA diluted in normal saline 5 ml was locally injected into the biopsy site at 2 min before surgery. The initial dose of HCA was 1.4 U.The dose of HCA was determined by up and down sequential method. Each time the dose of HCA increased/decreased in the next patient depending on whether nor not the bleeding was observed in the biopsy wound under fiberoptic bronchoscope. The ratio between the two successive concentrations was 1.2.The ED50 and 95 % confidence interval of HCA were calculated by Dixon's up-and-down method. Results ED50 of HCA inhibiting the bleeding after TBLB was 0.9 U,and 95 % confidence interval was 0.7-1.1 U.Conclusion ED50 of HCA inhibiting the bleeding after TBLB is 0.9 U.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2013;(50):8775-8780
BACKGROUND:Current cardiac bioprostheses and mechanical valves are shown to have some flaws and shortcomings, and tissue-engineered heart valves which can avoid these problems are becoming an ideal choice for valve replacement.
OBJECTIVE:To explore the experimental progress in the construction of tissue-engineered heart valves.
METHODS:Experimental studies related to tissue-engineered heart valves were retrieved in databases. Three main elements for tissue-engineered heart valves are seed cells, scaffold materials, and cellseeding.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Cardiac valve repair and replacement is the primarily surgical treatment for valvular heart disease. At present, seed cells mainly for construction of tissue-engineered heart valves include vascular endothelial cells, endothelial progenitor cells and bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells. The acellular scaffold has good biomechanical properties and histocompatibility. After cellseeding, a continuous celllayer wil form on the scaffold surface, which makes it possible to construct tissue-engineered heart valves. Tissue-engineered heart valve has a good prospect, but it is stil in the early stage of research and there are stil many problems that need to be solved.

Objective To evaluate the role of mitochondrial ATP-sensitive potassium (mito-KATe) channels in attenuation of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury by dexmedetomidine in rats. Methods One hundred and twenty healthy male Wistar rats, weighing 290-340 g,were randomly assigned into 5 groups (n =24 each) using a random number table:sham operation group (group S) ; group I/R; dexmedetomidine group (group D) ; 5-HD (a specific blocker of mito-KATPchannel) group and 5-HD + dexmedetomidine group (group 5-HD + D).The rats were anesthetized with intraperitoneal chloral hydrate.Focal cerebral I/R was produced by 2 h middle cerebral artery occlusion followed by reperfusion. In group D,dexmedetomidine 50 μg/kg was injected intraperitoneally before ischemia and after onset of reperfusion. In group 5-HD,5-HD 30 mg/kg was injected intraperitoneally at 1 h before ischemia. In 5-HD + D group,5-HD 30 mg/kg was injected intraperitoneally at 1 h before ischemia and the other procedures were similar to those previously described in group D.Twelve rats were chosen at 24 and 48 h of reperfusion to assess the neurological deficit score (NDS).The animals were then sacrificed and brains were removed for determination of cerebral infarct size by TTC staining. Results Compared with S group,NDS and cerebral infarct size were significantly increased at each time point in the other four groups (P < 0.05).Compared with group I/R,NDS and cerebral infarct size were significantly decreased in D and 5-HD + D groups (P < 0.05),and no significant change was found in the parameters mentioned above in 5-HD group (P > 0.05).Compared with group D,NDS and infarct size were significantly increased in group 5-HD + D (P < 0.05).Conclusion Mito-KATP channels are involved in reduction of I/R-induced cerebral injury by dexmedetomidine in rats.

Objective To study the diagnostic value of coronary disease with 16-slice spiral CT.Methods 35 patients with coronary heart disease(CHD) were divided into two groups according to the risk rate of CHD:group 1 with acute coronary artery syndrome(ACS)(including acute myocardial infarction,AMI;unstable angina,UA);group 2 with stable angina(SA).They were studied by 16-slice spiral CT(retrospectively ECG-gating,0.5 s ratation),the images were reconstructed by survey methods to display the coronary artery atherosclerosis plaques, then to evaluate the nature of plaques by detecting CT value of plaque(using the standard of the CT value of the coronary artery atherosclerosis plaque of Schroeder)and to analyze the degree of the stenosis of coronary artery caused by the different type of plaque. Results There were 19 soft plaqes,11 middle plaques and 7 calcification plaques in ACS group;3 soft plaqes,3 middle plaques and 11 calcification plaques in SA group. There was a positive relation between soft plaqes and middle plaques with the risk rate of CHD,especially soft plaque(P
