Objective To study the partial laboratory detection indicators in the patients with abnormal cystatin C (Cys C) . Methods The relevant data in the patients of our hospital from August 2014 to February 2014 were collected and the partial labo‐ratory detection indicators were compared between the patients with normal Cys C and the patients with abnormal Cys C .Results Cys C had statistical difference between the kidney disease group and the control group (P<0 .05);Cys C had statistical difference between the abnormal Cys C group and the control group (P<0 .05) ,RBC ,Hb ,HCT (male ,female) in the abnormal Cys C group were lower than the reference ranges ;while GLU ,TP and Alb in the abnormal Cys C group were within the reference ranges ,but lower than those in the control group ,UA was higher than that in the control group with statistical difference (P<0 .05) .Conclu‐sion Certain degree of malnutrition exists in the patients with abnormal Cys C .

AIM: Through studying the differences between wild-type acidic fibroblast growth factor (waFGF) with recombinant aFGF (raFGF), the biological effect of raFGF concerned with mitogenic activity was evaluated. METHODS: NIH3T3 cell line was used. Cell proliferation with MTT method was used to study the mitogenic activity. Flow cytometry was also used for detection of apoptosis, cell membrane permeability and mitochondria potential. The role of heparin sulfate (HS) on aFGF biological effect was studied at the same time in this research. RESULTS: The enhancement of raFGF on cell proliferation was significantly lower than that of waFGF. The restriction of raFGF on apoptosis and the enhancement of it on cell membrane permeability were all lower than those of waFGF significantly. The enhancement of raFGF on mitochondria potential was lower than that of waFGF significantly. The HS improved the biological effect of aFGF. CONCLUSION: The mitogenic activity of raFGF is lower than that of waFGF and raFGF has little effect on apoptosis.

AIM:To explore the effects of pentoxifylline (PTX) on ventricular remodeling and cardiac function in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) rats.METHODS: Lewis rats were randomly allocated to a myocin-induced dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) group receiving saline (n=10), a DCM group receiving PTX (PTX group; 25 mg?kg-1?d-1, ip, for 30 days, n=10) or healthy control group (n=10). The levels of tumor necrosis factor-? (TNF-?), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and IL-10 in the blood plasma were analyzed by ELISA. The extent of fibrosis was estimated using Masson's staining and immunohistochemistry analyses. Cardiac structure and function were measured by echocardiography.RESULTS: PTX decreased plasma levels of TNF-? and IL-6, and increased IL-10 level in DCM animals compared with DCM group [TNF-?: (7.21?0.24) ?g/L vs (19.30?1.31) ?g/L, P
