Objective To discuss the surgical complications secondary to decompressive craniectomy as well as the clinical factors related to these complications. Methods We reviewed a series of 83patients undergone surgical decompression and analyzed the incidence of surgical complications as well as the relationship of the complications with GCS score and operation opportunity selection. Results There were 51 patients (61%) with surgical complications after decompression, among whom 30 patients ( 36% ) had more than two kinds of complications. The trauma severity would increase with the incidence of surgical complication, with statistical difference between groups. The late operative group ( ≥ 12hours) showed higher incidence of complication than the early operative group ( < 12 hours), with no statistical difference. Conclusion The procedure of decompressive craniectomy develops kinds of complications which should be prevented, detected and treated early for an optimal prognosis.

[ABSTRACT]OBJECTIVETo investigate the efficacy and the related complications of combinedpostauricular methylprednisolone injection and systemic therapy for profound idiopathic sudden hearing loss (ISSNHL). METHODSTotal of 60 patients with ISSNHLwho had received therapy from June 2014 to May 2015 in Beijing Anzhen Hospital affiliated to Capital University of Medical Science, were randomly divided into 2 groups, the systemic application group (30 patients): dexamethasone (DEX) was applied intravenously in dose of 10 mg×5 d, and the postauricular injection group (30 patients): methylprednisolone sodium suecinate was injected subperiosteally near the upper one-thirds of postauricular sulcus every day, 40 mg×5 d.All 60 patients received the same medications for 2 weeks to improve the hearing. Hearing and tympanic membrane were monitered before the injections and two weeks after the termination of injections. SPSS 16.0 software was used to analyze the data.RESULTSThe postauricular injection group: 23 of 30 ears had improvement of hearing. No related complications were reported. The systemic application group: 23 of 31 ears had improvement of hearing (P>0.05) No related complications were reported.CONCLUSIONCombined postauricular methylprednisolone injection and systemic medications therapy can be considered as is an effective therapy for profound idiopathic sudden hearing loss. It can avoid the side-effects of high dose systemic corticostemid treatment. For ISSNHL patients, postauricular methylprednisolone injection may be an appropriate treatment.

Objective: To extract the polysaccharides of Curcuma zedoaria Rosc (PCZ) and study its bioactivities. Methods: The crude polysaccharides were extracted from herbal slice of Curcuma zedoaria Rosc with hot water ,and precipitated by ethanol and savage deproteinization and depigmentation with activated charcoal. The constituents were isolated by column chromatography and the total polysaccharides content was determined. Experiments of immune function,anti-oxidation and anti-tumor activity of KM mice and in viro were studied. Results: The content of total polysaccharides of Curcuma zedoaria Rosc was 33.12%. and the extraction rate was 1.938% . It could raise spleen cell proliferation and transformation rate of lymphocyte and SOD activity in blood of mice. A higher antitumor effect of the polysaccharides by injection was observed dose-dependently. Conclusion: PCZ could raise the immune and anti-oxidative activities and then had a higher antitumor effect.

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 2004;0(06):-
Objective: The chemical composition, extraction and biological activity of antioxidant substance of sweet potatoes were studied. Method: The antioxidant substance was extracted with alcohol and purified with AB-8 big-hole resin and its elimination rate of _?O 2 and OH and SOD activity were determined. Results: The content of antioxidant substance stockpiled respectively in the root tubers, stems and leaves of sweet potatoes and was different in varieties. The highest content in the root tuber was 0.324%, which accounted 70% of total content in sweet potatoes. Its extraction ratio was 85%. The major composition of the antioxidant substance was phenol acid, including chlorogenic acid, isochlorogenic acid, neochlorogenic acid and 4-0-caffeonyl quinic butyl ester. They had intense antioxidant function and their elimination rate to _?O 2 and?OH at concentration 90 mg/ml was 88.02% and 82.21% respectively. The antioxidantsubstance restrained oxidation of lipid and hemolysis of red cell induced by H2O2,and increased SOD activity in serum and skin of mice. Conclusion: Several kinds of phenol acid as antioxidant substance stockpiled in sweet potatoes were proved to have strong antioxidant activity.

Objective:To study the clinical and histological features of multiple meningiomas. Methods:39 cases of multiple meningiomas were analyzed retrospectively. The expressions of PR (Progesterone receptor) , p53 and MIB-1 were detected by immunohistochemistry in the samples of multiple meningiomas and solitary meningiomas. Results:Female predominance was obvious in cases of multiple meningiomas. The tumors had wide distributions with a main location in brain convexity. The results of immunohistochemistry showed stronger expression of PR and similar expression of p53 and MIB-1 in samples of multiple meningiomas than those in solitary meningiomas. Conclusion:The diagnosis of multiple meningiomas mainly depends on radiological examination. The pathogenesis of multiple meningiomas is probably related to progesterone and its receptor, and it is most likely monoclonal origin.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2013;(50):8775-8780
BACKGROUND:Current cardiac bioprostheses and mechanical valves are shown to have some flaws and shortcomings, and tissue-engineered heart valves which can avoid these problems are becoming an ideal choice for valve replacement.
OBJECTIVE:To explore the experimental progress in the construction of tissue-engineered heart valves.
METHODS:Experimental studies related to tissue-engineered heart valves were retrieved in databases. Three main elements for tissue-engineered heart valves are seed cells, scaffold materials, and cellseeding.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Cardiac valve repair and replacement is the primarily surgical treatment for valvular heart disease. At present, seed cells mainly for construction of tissue-engineered heart valves include vascular endothelial cells, endothelial progenitor cells and bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells. The acellular scaffold has good biomechanical properties and histocompatibility. After cellseeding, a continuous celllayer wil form on the scaffold surface, which makes it possible to construct tissue-engineered heart valves. Tissue-engineered heart valve has a good prospect, but it is stil in the early stage of research and there are stil many problems that need to be solved.
