Chinese Journal of Modern Nursing 2020;26(17):2360-2363
Objective:To explore the nursing needs of cataract patients in national poverty-stricken counties. Methods:Totally 198 cataract patients from Wangmo County (a national poverty-stricken county) in Guizhou Province between January and October 2018 were selected by convenient sampling, and investigated with the Cataract Patient Nursing Need Questionnaire. Results:The physiological help need rate of the 198 cataract patients was 71.72%-91.41%, with an average of 82.70%; the safe hospital information need rate was 76.77%-96.46%, with an average of 88.18%; the health education need rate was 76.26%-97.47%, with an average of 84.34%; the emotional and psychological support need rate was 57.58%-97.98%, with an average of 81.23%.Conclusions:At present, cataract patients in national poverty-stricken counties all have nursing needs, and it is necessary to formulate scientific, reasonable and effective nursing measures according to their nursing needs.

Objective To explore the work experience and responding measures of the second-line on duty senior nurses in night shift rescue. Methods In-depth interviews were conducted in 11 nurses and the interview data were collected and analyzed by phenomenological research method. Results The work experience of the second-line on duty senior nurses in night shift rescue was divided into three stages and eight topics. Before rescue: the influence of working environment on sleep; concerns over the incompetence of the emergency work because of the unfamiliarity of the specialty; the invisible pressure from their responsibility. During the rescue: the ability of quick adjustment into new environment and rescue state; timely detection and suppression of potential security risks of nursing; the perception of lack of knowledge in night shift nurses and themselves. After the rescue: occupational pride gained from emergency rescue; and the desire for knowledge. Conclusions Nursing managers should pay attention to the work experience of the senior nurses who are on the duty of second-line and take effective interventions to better play the role of senior nurses, at the same time, improve the working ability of night duty nurses to ensure the quality and safety of night nursing work.

Objective:To investigate the effects of micro video combined with situational experience health education program in elderly diabetic patients. Methods:Totally, 100 elderly diabetic patients were enrolled from January to December in 2018 in Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine. They were assigned to experimental group ( n=50) and control group( n=50) by random number table. The control group received routine health education, while the experimental group received micro video combined with situational experience health education program. The intervention effects were assessed by Chinese version of Tilburg Frailty Indicator and Summary of Diabetes Self Care Action. Results:Finally, 45 cases were included in the experimental group and 47 cases in the control group. There was no significant difference between the two groups before intervention ( P>0.05). After intervention, the scores of physical frailty, psychological frailty, social frailty and total frailty were (2.60 ± 1.19) points, (1.24 ± 0.87) points, (1.11 ± 0.83) points and (4.96 ± 1.76) points in the experimental group, significantly lower than in the control group (3.45 ± 1.18) points, (1.96 ± 0.86) points, (2.06 ± 0.79) points and (7.47 ± 1.57) points. The difference was statistically significant ( t values were 3.32-7.23, P<0.01); the scores of diet, exercise, blood glucose monitoring, medication, foot care dimension and total self-care activities were (20.36 ± 2.22) points, (12.02 ± 2.33) points, (5.07 ± 0.81) points, (9.98 ± 1.99) points, (7.53 ± 1.10) points and (54.96 ± 4.49) points in the experimental group, significantly higher than in the control group (18.96 ± 2.12) points, (10.47 ± 2.24) points, (3.85 ± 0.83) points, (8.62 ± 1.69) points, (6.60 ± 1.12) points and (48.49 ± 4.07) points. the difference was statistically significant ( t values were 3.10-7.25, P<0.01). Conclusions:Micro video combined with situational experience can improve frailty status and self-care activities in elderly patients with diabetes.

Objective To develop the critical care competency rating scale for clinical nurses. Methods Literature review, interviews and Delphi consultation were performed to identify items of the scale. A total of 452 clinical nurses were enrolled to test the reliability and validity of scale. Results Items scores were related to total score and Pearson correlation coefficient were 0. 524-0. 861;6 factors were extracted by exploratory analysis with cumulative contribution rate of 72. 698%;the Cronbach′s alpha coefficient was 0. 951 and split-half was 0. 835;CVI was 0. 964. Conclusions Reliability and validity of the critical care competency rating scale for clinical nurses were acceptable, and can be used to assess clinical nurses′critical care competency.
