1.Ketosis-prone diabetes
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1986;0(04):-
Ketosis-prone diabetes is most commonly seen in type 1 diabetic patients. Long-term of glycemic control not depending on insulin is one of the characteristics of type 2 diabetes.Patients with both of the manifestations may form a new group other than type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus.
2.Association of sex hormones with atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases and related events
Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1985;0(01):-
The cardiovascular system is closely associated with sex hormones. The risk factors of the cadiovascular diseases or related events, such as lipid metabolism, coagulatory function and vascular endothelium function are affected by sex hormones and their analogues by a number of pathways. Consensus is generaly reached about hormone replacement therapy (HRT) among menopausal women except the effects on cardiovascular system, which removined to be controversial. It is recommended that women should consult their doctors for their individulized administration of HRT.

Background and purpose:Aberrant expressions of microRNAs (miRNA, miR)are reported in various cancers and may associate with cancer occurrence, development, invasion and metastasis, thereby functioning as either tumor suppressors or oncogenes. This study attempted to observe the expression of miR-214 in pancreatic cancer and to explore its clinical signiifcance.Methods:Real-time PCR was used to detect the miR-214 expressions between pancreatic cancer tissues and matched adjacent tissues. The correlations of miR-214 expression with clinic-pathological features and clinical prognosis were analyzed.Results:MiR-214 expression was up-regulated in 69.4%(25/36) of tumor tissue specimens. The relative expression level of miR-214 was signiifcantly higher in tumor tissues than in matched adjacent tissues (3.45vs 1.52,P<0.01). Higher miR-214 level was strongly associated with T3-T4 stage (P=0.018). The Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that patients with higher expression of miR-214 had a shorter survival time (P=0.032).Conclusion:The expression of miR-214 is associated with clinic-pathological features and patient’s clinical prognosis, so it may be used as a potential diagnostic biomarker and a prognostic predictor in patients with pancreatic cancer.

Objective Hyalinizing trabecular tumor ( HTT) is often mistaken as thyroid papillary carcino-ma( TPC) ,which shares some morphological features with TPC .The aim of this study is to investigate HTT and TPC with immunohistochemical methods .Methods we detected the expression of the three Immunohistochemical index((CK19,HBME-1,MIB-1)in thirteen cases HTT and twenty cases TPC.Results In HTT samples, CK19:three of the thirteen were positive and focal positivity (1+);HBME-1:None of the thirteen samples was stained.MIB-1:ten in thirteen cases were stained in nucleus .In TPC samples,CK19:all of the twenty samples were intensely stained;HBME-1:nineteen of twenty samples were intensely stained;MIB-1:all of the twenty samples were stained in nucleus .The sensitivity and specific degrees of CK 19 and HBME-1 combination to diag-nosis HTT and TPC were 90.0%and 69.2%.Conclusion Our research could provide potent aid to differential diagnosis of HTT and TPC .The combination of CK19 and HBME-1 are adequate to identify HTT and TPC .

Objective To obtain the concentrations and daily intakes of 15 rare earth elements in foods for adult men in four areas in China. Methods With duplicate portion study,120 mixed diet samples were collected from adult men in cities of Tianjin,Chengdu,Zhenjiang and Taiyuan, which belong to 4 areas with different dietary types in China. The concentrations of cerium, dysprosium, erbium, gadolinium, lanthanum, lutetium, holmium, neodymium, praseodymium, scandium, samarium, terbium, thulium, yttrium and ytterbium in these samples were determined by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry(ICP-MS) after pretreatment, and the daily intakes of them were also calculated. Results The concentrations of 15 rare earth elements and their daily intakes in foods for adult men were obtained. Conclusions The concentrations of these elements in each area are consistent with normal distribution. The total rare earth element concentration in the diet of adult men ranges from 24.68 to 109.27 μg/g.The daily intake of total rare earth elements is about 24 μg/d.Reference values of the rare earth element concentrations in the diet and daily intake of Chinese adult men were updated.

Objective To explore the surgical procedures and effects for recurrent scalp dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP).Methods Retrospective review was conducted in 7 scalp recurrent DFSP cases in the past 3 years.Intraoperative frozen section analysis of surgical margins was performed.Wide local excision with margins of 3 cm or more was applied, and excision of the skull external lamina or the entire layer of the cranial bones was performed once the skulls under the tumors were invaded.Frozen section analysis was again performed on all the margins.Secondary wound was repaired with local skin flap or fascial pedicled flaps.Surgically removed tumor was paraffin-embedded for HE-staining and immunohistochemical analysis. Results All of 7 tumor specimens were proved recurrent DFSP with histologic findings of intraoperation or postoperation.7 patients were all performed with wide local excision with margins of 3 cm or more, also with skull excision (5 cases with excision of skull external lamina and 2 cases with excision of the entire layer of skull).Negative margins were confirmed with intraoperative frozen sections or postoperative paraffin-embedded sections analysis were confirmed.Immunohistochemical analysis demonstrated that Ki-67 was all positive and CD34 was partially positive in 7 cases. No tumor recurrence or metastasis had been observed in any of our patients after a median follow-up duration of 17 months (range 15-41).Conclusions Wide local excision together with the skull invaded by tumors completely is effective surgical treatments for recurrent scalp DFSP; Use of scalp transferring technique could improve wound repair after complete tumor excision.

Intraocular pressure detection has a great significance for understanding the status of eye health, prevention and treatment of diseases such as glaucoma. Traditional intraocular pressure detection needs to be held in the hospital. It is not only time-consuming to doctors and patients, but also difficult to achieve 24 hour-continuous detection. Microminiaturization of the intraocular pressure sensor and wearing it as a contact lens, which is convenient, comfortable and noninvasive, can solve this problem because the soft contact lens with an embedded micro fabricated strain gauge allows the measurement of changes in corneal curvature to correlate to variations of intraocular pressure. We fabricated a strain gauge using micro-electron mechanical systems, and integrated with the contact lens made of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) using injection molding. The experimental results showed that the sensitivity was 100. 7 µV/µm. When attached to the corneal surface, the average sensitivity of sensor response of intraocular pressure can be 125.8 µV/mm Hg under the ideal condition.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics 2019;39(20):1264-1267
Based on the coronal balance classification for adult spinal deformity established by our center, a new surgical technique for adult spinal deformity was further proposed, namely Sequential Correction. Spine deformity was classified as thoracolumbar/lumbar type and lumbosacral type according to the driver of the deformity. A short rod was firstly installed to correct the driver, followed by another short rod installed on the other side, and two long rods were installed at last. The incidence of postoperative coronal imbalance was significantly reduced using sequential correction, and the correction rate was significantly improved compared with the traditional technique.

The relationships of therapeutic regime, glycemic control and quality of life with depression were observed in 193 type 2 diabetic patients. The results showed that 46.6% of the diabetic patients manifested depression in various degrees; the depression status was correlated with age or duration of diabetes; the patients under insulin treatment showed more marked depression than the other patients (P
