Objective To investigate the recent decade (1999 to 2009) incidence of committed suicide and attempted suicide of the Jinuo nationality in Jinuo Mountain and study the clinical characteristics of it. Methods 10 610 subjects at 44 Jinuo villagers committees were investigated by the method of door-to-door inquiry under the help of clues and collected the data of larithmics and medical history. Results 32 committed suicide patients were found in total, and the average incidence rate per year in the recent decade was 30. 16/100 000. 5 attempted suicide patients were found and the average incidence rate per year in the recent decade was 4.71/100 000. Conclusion The Jinuo committed suicide incidence rate is higher than nationwide level. The attempted suicide incidence rate is lower than nationwide level.

Objective:To describe the epidemiological characteristics of mental disorders in community resi-dents aged 18 years and over in the Chifeng City of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Methods:Six thousand three hundred and seventy six individuals aged 18 years and over were sampled using stratified Probability-Propor-tional-to-Size Sampling in Chifeng City in 2010.All respondents were investigated by face-to-face interview. The Composite International Diagnostic Interview-3.0 Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CIDI-3.0-CAPI)was used to make diagnoses based on the definition and criteria of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Dis-orders,Fourth Edition (DMS-IV).Results:A total of 4528 subjects completed the CIDI-3.0-CAPI.Regarding anxi-ety disorder, mood disorder, substance use disorder, and impulse control disorder, the 30-day adjusted prevalence rates (95%CI)were 2.5%(2.08% -2.99%,0.9%(0.67% -1.23%),0.5%(0.34% -0.76%),and 0.6%(0.41% -0.86%)respectively,and the 12 -month prevalence rates were 4.5% (3.93% -5.15%),2.4%(2.0% -2.90%),1.1% (0.84% -1.45%),and 1.0% (0.74% -1.32%)respectively.The lifetime adjusted prevalence rates were 6.6% (5.92% -7.36%),6.5% (5.81% -7.24%),2.7% (2.26% -3.21%),and 1.4%(1.23% -1.95%)respectively.Conclusion:According to morbidity, anxiety disorders, mood disorder, substance use disorders and impulse control disorders are common in Chifeng City of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region se-quencely,being a prominent public health problem.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2010;24(24):1112-1115
OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the role and clinical value of the serum level of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in laryngeal squamous cell cancer and the relationship between HGF, VEGF and clinicopathological factors.
METHOD:
We measured serum HGF and VEGF level in 54 laryngeal squamous cell cancer patients using ELISA to demonstrate the variation of HGF, VEGF level before operation and at day 1, 3, 7, 14 post-surgery. The concentration of the serum HGF, VEGF content in 35 normal healthy people and in 30 vocal cords polyps patients were measured by the quantitative sandwich enzyme linked immunoassay technique.
RESULT:
(1) The level of serum HGF and VEGF in the patients with laryngeal squamous cell cancer was significantly higher than that of normal healthy people and vocal cord polyps patients (P < 0.01). (2) The level of serum HGF, VEGF in the patients with laryngeal squamous cell cancer was related to clinical stage, differentiation situation, lymph nodes metastasis (P < 0.01), but it was independent of age at diagnosis, gender and tumor location (P > 0.05). (3) There was a significantly positive correlation between preoperative serum VEGF and HGF levels (r = 0.7667, P < 0.01). (4) Post-operational serum HGF levels in 54 laryngeal squamous cell cancer patients who underwent surgical intervention increased significantly, peaked at day 3 after operation. Serum HGF levels of survivors during follow-up period gradually decreased at day 7 and day 14 after operation. The postoperative serum levels of VEGF were decreased significantly than that of preoperation.
CONCLUSION
HGF and VEGF may play an important role in the development and progression of human laryngeal cancer. Elevated serum HGF and VEGF levels predict a more aggressive biological behavior in laryngeal squamous cell cancer.

A bicyclic depsipeptide, chromopeptide A (1), was isolated from a deep-sea-derived bacterium Chromobacterium sp. HS-13-94. Its structure was determined by extensive spectroscopic analysis and by comparison with a related known compound. The absolute configuration of chromopeptide A was established by X-ray diffraction analysis employing graphite monochromated Mo K α radiation (λ=0.71073 Å) with small Flack parameter 0.03. Chromopeptide A suppressed the proliferation of HL-60, K-562, and Ramos cells with average IC50 values of 7.7, 7.0, and 16.5 nmol/L, respectively.

Histone acetylation is a critical process in the regulation of chromatin structure and gene expression. Histone deacetylases (HDACs) remove the acetyl group, leading to chromatin condensation and transcriptional repression. HDAC inhibitors are considered a new class of anticancer agents and have been shown to alter gene transcription and exert antitumor effects. This paper describes our work on the structural determination and structure-activity relationship (SAR) optimization of tetrahydroisoquinoline compounds as HDAC inhibitors. These compounds were tested for their ability to inhibit HDAC 1, 3, 6 and for their ability to inhibit the proliferation of a panel of cancer cell lines. Among these, compound 82 showed the greatest inhibitory activity toward HDAC 1, 3, 6 and strongly inhibited growth of the cancer cell lines, with results clearly superior to those of the reference compound, vorinostat (SAHA). Compound 82 increased the acetylation of histones H3, H4 and tubulin in a concentration-dependent manner, suggesting that it is a broad inhibitor of HDACs.
