China Pharmacy 2007;0(36):-
OBJECTIVE:To study the protective effects of Shenqi fuzheng injection on ischemia/reperfusion injury of the lungs of dogs following cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB).METHODS:The CPB dog model was induced, then the model dogs we-re randomly divided into three groups:control group,Shenqi fuzheng injection high dosage group, and Shenqi fuzheng injection low dosage group. The lung tissue samples of 1.0 cm3 from the same lobes of lung were obtained at 10 min before CPB and 60 min and 120 min after reperfusion, respectively for determination of the contents of superoxide dismutase(SOD),malondialdehyde (MDA),wet / dry ratio of lung (W/D) etc. The femoral arterial blood gas analysis was performed in two groups at 30 min and 120 min after reperfusion for calculation of oxygenation index(OI) and respiratory index(RI).The lung tissue samples(1.0 cm3) from the same lobes of lung were obtained at 120 min after reperfusion for HE staining and observation of pathological changes under light microscope. RESULTS:In the control group,OI were significantly decreased but RI were sig-nificantly increased at 120 min after reperfusion as compared with at 30 min after reperfusion; in Shenqi fuzheng injection high dosage group at 30 min and 120 min,OI was significantly higher but RI was significantly lower than in control group. In the control group at 60,120 min after reperfusion, the SOD content were decreased significantly,MDA content and W/D ratio in lung tissues were increased significantly compared with at 10 min before CPB; in Shenqi fuzheng injection high dosage group at 60 min and 120 min,MDA content and W/D ratio were significantly lower but SOD content was significantly higher than in the control group. The pathological changes at 120 min after reperfusion showed that there were severe leukocyte infiltration and pulmonary edema in the control group, but the pathological changes in the Shenqi fuzheng injection high dosage group were milder than in the control group. CONCLUSION:Administration of Shenqi fuzheng injection in dog during CPB has beneficial protective effects against I/R lung injury, and the effect may be associated to its function in alleviating the damage induced by oxygen free radicals in lung tissues.
2.Study of mandibular movement trace in skeletal anterior reverse bite malocclusion after the early stage orthodontic treatment of mixed dentition
Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1981;0(06):-
Objective To study the differences between the mandibular movement in empty opening and protrusion trace of the skeletal anterior reverse malocclusion before and after the early protraction treatment in early stage of mixed dentition. Methods ACRUSdigma system, a kind of ultrasonic mandibular movement record system, was used in the study. The kinematic center which can represent the translation and rotation of the condylar and the incisal points were used as reference point to compare the difference of the empty opening and protrusion mandibular movement trajectory of 30 individuals with skeletal anterior reverse bite malocclusions before and after the early protraction facemask treatment. Results For the kinematic center, the typical trajectory was changed, the upper movement disappeared and the distances between vertical and horizontal movements were increased at the end of the treatment in the empty opening movement on the sagittal plane. In the empty protrusion movement, the interplanar distance of the kinematic center was increased significantly on the sagittal plane. For the incisial point, it moved ahead at first and then downward vertically in the empty protrusion movement, and the interplanar distance was increased significantly on the sagittal plane in the empty opening movement. Conclusions By giving the protraction treatment, the relation of upper mandible and submaxilla of the skeletal anterior reverse bite malocclusions is changed. During the later stage of the treatment, for the occlusal splint was ground off, the normal occlusial inducement is built, which affords the rebuilding of temporomandibular joint (TMJ), ligaments and muscles. The trajectory also becomes normal. The normal trajectory may supply a better environment for the development and rebuilding of jaw, TMJ, ligaments and muscles.

Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of Linagliptin in combination with Metformin in newly diagnosed T2DM patients. Methods A total of 140 newly diagnosed T2DM patients were enrolled in this study. All the patients were admitted in the Endocrinology and Metabolism department of our hospital from January 2013 to October 2013. Random number table method was used in patients’ selection. All the patients were divided into two groups :Linagliptin plus Metformin group (Linagliptin group ,n=70) and Glipizide plus Metformin group (Glipizide group ,n=70) ,and followed up for 12 weeks. Efficacy and safety of treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The difference of FPG ,2 hPG and HbA1 c did not reach the statistical significance between the two groups at baseline treatment (P>0.05). FPG ,2 hPG and HbA1 c were significantly lower after treatment compared with baseline in both groups (P<0.05). FC-P ,2 hC-P ,HOMA-β,HOMA-IR ,IAI and adiponectin level at baseline were similar between the two groups ( P> 0.05 ). All these indicators were improved after treatment in both groups (P< 0.05) ,and were significant better in Linagliptin group than in Glipizide group. Adverse events rate were significantly higher in Glipizide group than in Linagliptin group (18.57%vs 5.71% ,χ2 = 5.423 ,P= 0.020 ). Conclusion The efficacy of Linagliptin in combination with Metformin in newly diagnosed T2DM patients was similar with Glipizide plus Metformin. The β cell function improvement was better and APN level was higher after Linagliptin treatment.

OBJECTIVEWe used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to explore the effects of noxious coldness and non-noxious warmth on the magnitude of cerebral cortex activation during intraoral stimulation with water.
METHODSSix male and female subjects were subjected to whole-brain fMRI during the phasic delivery of non-noxious hot (23 °C) and no- xious cold (4 °C) water intraoral stimulation. A block-design blood oxygenation level-dependent fMRI scan covering the entire brain was also carried out.
RESULTSThe activated cortical areas were as follows: left pre-/post-central gyrus, insula/operculum, anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), orbital frontal cortex (OFC), midbrain red nucleus, and thalamus. The activated cortical areas under cold condition were as follows: left occipital lobe, premotor cortex/Brodmann area (BA) 6, right motor language area BA44, lingual gyrus, parietal lobule (BA7, 40), and primary somatosensory cortex S I. Comparisons of the regional cerebral blood flow response magnitude were made among stereotactically concordant brain regions that showed significant responses under the two conditions of this study. Compared with non-noxious warmth, more regions were activated in noxious coldness, and the magnitude of activation in areas produced after non-noxious warm stimulation significantly increased. However, ACC only significantly increased the magnitude of activation under noxious coldness stimulation.
CONCLUSIONResults suggested that a similar network of regions was activated common to the perception of pain and no-pain produced by either non-noxious warmth or noxious coldness stimulation. Non-noxious warmth also activated more brain regions and significantly increased the response magnitude of cerebral-cortex activation compared with noxious coldness. Noxious coldness stimulation further significantly increased the magnitude of activation in ACC areas compared with noxious warmth.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 2001;0(07):-
The aim of the study was to observe osseointegration of dental implants in osteoporotic rats. Rats were randomly divided into groups A(SHAM) and B(OVX), and pure titanium screws were implanted in the distal half of the right femurs. 1 5 and 3 months after implantation, half of the rats in each group were sacrificed and right femurs were observed by X ray photography, scan electron microscopy as well as light microscopy. The results showed that 1.5 and 3 months after implantation, the osseointegration index (OI) of group A was higher than that of group B. But the OI of each group was almost the same at different intervals. 1 5 months after implantation, the amount of new bone formation in group A was more abundant than that in group B, and it increased in group A but decreased in group B 3 months after implantation. The results confirmed that with higher BMD osseointegration was better. Osteoporotic changes could decrease OI and the amount of new bone formation at implant bone interface in rats. Osseointegration would not improve without outside factors.
