Objective To study the clinical feasibility of the percutaneous sclerosis treatment for limb and maxillofacial region low flux vascular malformations. Methods 17 cases with limb and maxillofacial region low flux vascular malformation were collected from 1998 to 2002 accepting interventional treatment in our hospital with application of direct percutaneous sclerosis or percutaneous sclerosis through arteriography or arterial embolism three methods, using tardener's alcohol method of Hardener with alcohol or iodinated oil accompanied by pingyangmycin. Results Altogether 17 cases included with once cured in 11 cases, multple times of treatment in 5 and the last case needed necrotic tissue resection with skin graft due to localized muscular necrosis caused by inproper embolization. Conclusions The interventional treatment for limb and maxillofacial region low flux vascular malformation is an effective and safety method.

Objective To investigate whether damaged human amniotic epithelial cells(HAEC)could be repaired on the matrix of formulated fibrin clot in vitro and the effects of epidermal growth factor(EGF),basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF)and transforming growth factor ?_1(TGF-?_1)on the proliferation of HAEC. Methods Ring drill was used to drill the HAEC layer on culture sheets to make quantified models of damaged HAEC, on which the lacks were then covered with fibrin clot. Subsequently, EGF (EGF group), bFGF(bFGF group) and TGF-?_1 (TGF-?_1 group) of different concentration were added into the sheets respectively. After the predesigned culturing time, the growing and transiting conditions of HAEC were observed under inverted microscope after Giemsa stain. Also, the proliferating conditions of HAEC were detected by using 5-bromodeoxyuridine(BrdU). Results In all groups, HAEC could transit toward damaged area on fibrin clot and grow there. Higher transiting speed and larger cell numbers were observed in the EGF and bFGF groups followed by the control group, while the TGF-?_1 group showed the relatively poorer results. Proliferating rates of HAEC were 17.8%, 28.0%, 35.3%, 51.6%, 34.1%, 34.2% and 26.0% respectively by EGF of different cultured concentration (1.0ng/ml, 5.0ng/ml, 10.0ng/ml, 20.0ng/ml, 40.0ng/ml, 80.0ng/ml and 160.0ng/ml). Proliferating rates of HAEC were 18.0%, 35.7%, 43.0%, 52.7%, 67.4%, 43.6% and 30.5% respectively by bFGF of different cultured concentration (1.0ng/ml, 5.0ng/ml, 10.0ng/ml, 20.0 ng/ml, 40.0 ng/ml, 80.0 ng/ml and 160.0ng/ml). Compared with the control group, EGF groups (EGF concentration ranging from 10ng/ml to 80ng/ml) and bFGF groups (bFGF concentration ranging from 5ng/ml to 80ng/ml ) showed better proliferating effects of HAEC(P

Objective To investigate molecular epidemiology profile of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in ICU ward. Methods Twenty-five MRSA strains were typed by arbitrarily primed PCR (AP-PCR).Results Ten different AP-PCR patterns (A-G) were found among 25 MRSA strains. Most of MRSA in ICU ward were A and B pulsotype. Conclusion Hospital acquired MRSA is multi-resistant to antibiotics.A and B pulsotype MRSA outbreak occures in ICU ward.

ObjectiveTo explore the efficacy and side-effects of reboxitine on post-schizophrenic depression.Methods30 patients with post-schizophrenic depression according CCMD-Ⅲ accepted reboxitine 4~8 mg/d in addition to antipsychotic drugs for 6 weeks. Efficacy and side-effects were determined with Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS), Scale for Assessment of Negative Symptoms (SANS), Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale (TESS) before and 2, 4, 6 weeks after treatment. ResultsThe score of HAMD were obviously improved after the treatment(P<0.01), as well as that of negative psychotic symptoms in BPRS and TESS. Slight symptoms that may be associated to the Reboxitine were obvioused seldom, and all recovered without any treating. ConclusionLow-dose rebositine is effective on post-schizophrenic depression with few side-effects and good compliance.

Objective The gastrointestinal tract of neonate becomes colonized with microorganisms from environment and mother immediately after birth. Strong evidences suggested that early composition of the microflora in neonates play an important role for postnatal development of the immune system. This study was designed to investigate the effect of mode of delivery on the development of gut microflora and characteristics of the stool in breast-fed infants by molecular biology methods. Methods Sixty healthy breast-fed term infants were enrolled in the study(including vaginal delivery group and cesarean section delivery group, each group included 30 infants). Anthropometric measurements and stool study were done at 6-week,8-week,10-week,and 12-week. Fecal samples were subjected to quantitative fluorescence real-time polymerse chain reaction assays for the enumeration of lactobacili, bifidobacteria, and subtype of bifidobacteria(bifidobacterium longum and bifidobacterium breve). Results The numbers of lactobacilli and bifidobacterium longum species were less in cesarean delivery group than those in vaginal delivery group(P < 0.05). Stool mean pH was lower in vaginal delivery group than that in cesarean section delivery group(P < 0.05). There were no differences in stool characteristics and growth between two groups. Conclusions Cesarean section is associated with the decrease of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli in breast-fed term infants.

Objective To establish burn-induced esophageal lesion model by adding NaOH with different concentrations in rabbits, and investigate the effect of modified sijunzi decoction on the p53 and Bcl-2.Methods After injection with different concentrations of NaOH, esophagus was dissected and observed anatomically.Rabbits were given a gavage of modified Sijunzi decoction daily for 20 days, and then were injected with NaOH.Esophageal epithelium isolated from each group was observed by hematoxylin-eosin staining.p53 and Bcl-2 protein and mRNA expression was measured with western blot and qRT-PCR, respectively. Results The degree of corrosion of esophageal epithelium was positively correlated with the concentration of NaOH.p53 protein and mRNA levels were increased after NaOH challenge; this increase was inhibited by treatment with modified Sijunzi decoction.Additionally, NaOH decreased Bcl-2 protein and mRNA, which was attenuated by modified Sijunzi decoction. Conclusion Modified sijunzi decoction can relieve the esophageal alkali burning in a dose-dependent manner, suggesting that modified Sijunzi decoction may be a useful strategy to treat chemical injuries in esophageal tissue.
