Journal of Practical Stomatology 2016;32(6):861-864
Objective:To study the perioral soft tissue characteristics of the subjects with ClassⅡDivisionⅠand various vertical pat-terns. Methods:Lateral cephalograms of 90 adults ( half men, half women) were divided into 3 groups based on GoGn-SN angle:low angle, normal angle and high angle(n=30). The perioral soft tissues were measured and compared for the determination of the vertical skeletal variables influencing soft tissue characteristics. Results: The subjects with low angle showed significantly smaller values than those with high angle for basic lower lip thickness and lower lip length(P<0. 05). Most measurements of soft tissue thickness were greater in men than in women in all groups, especially for basic upper lip thickness and upper lower lip thickness(P<0. 05). Conclu-sion:Orthodontists need to pay more attention to the differences of perioral soft tissue in the subjects with various vertical patters to ob-tain balance of the facial harmony in orthodontic treatment.

Chinese Journal of Perinatal Medicine 1998;0(02):-
Objective To investigate the relationship between absent end-diastolic velocity of fetal umbilical artery (AEDV) and perinatal outcome. Methods The color Doppler ultrasound result of maximum flow velocity waveforms at the cardiac level (aorta, pulmonary artery) and the peripheral level (fetal umbilical artery, middle cerebral artery) in 27 cases with Umbilical artery AEDV were analyzed. Fetal heart rate monitoring was performed and perinatal outcome was followed up. Results All of the 27 cases presented with remarkable pulmonary artery contraction. The result of velocity time integral (VTI)?fetal heart rate (FHR) and right cardiac output declined significantly. Among 22 cases with continuous monitoring, 10 cases showed reduced PI of middle cerebral artery (MCA) without changes of left cardiac output; 12 cases had biphasic changes of the MCA PI which consisted of decrease followed by increase and showed significant reduction of VTI?FHR of aorta and left car-(diac) output. The interval between the first detection of AEDV and the presentation of abnormal FHR patterns was 2 to 7 days. Conclusions Umbilical artery AEDV usually precedes the presentation of abnormal FHR under fetal hypoxia. Delivery before decompensation may improve the perinatal morbidity and mortality.

Objective To observe the effect of laser irradiation on the level of histamine (Hm) , 5- hydroxytryptamine(5-HT), interleukin-1 (IL-1), tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) in serum and β- endorphin (β- EP) in brain tissue in rat model of rheumatoid arthritis. Methods A total of 60 Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups:a normal group, a model group (RA without treatment), a laser + drug treatment group (RA treated by laser and drug) and a drug treatment group (RA treated by drug alone). All the groups, except the normal one, were injected with complete Freund's adjuvant to make animal model of adjuvant arthritis. All the animals were then treated accordingly. The level of Hm, 5-HT, IL-1 and TNFα in serum and β-EP in brain tissue were measured. Results Laser downregulated the content of Hm, 5-HT, IL-1 and TNFα in serum and increased the content of β-EP in brain tissue. Conclusion Laser irradiation is an effective modality for treating the animal model of rheumatoid arthritis.

BACKGROUND: Recently, zirconia ceramic implants have been reported to be used in clinic. Increasing studies on surface treatment of ziconia implants have been done, in order to promote bone-implant osseointegration and increase the success rate of implantation. There are no recognized surface treatment techniques of zirconia implants as yet.OBJECTIVE: To summarize the research progress in surface treatment techniques of zirconia implants.METHODS: The first author searched the CNKI, PubMed and Web of Science databases for relevant articles published from January 2000 to October 2016. The keywords were zirconia or zirconium, implant, surface treatment in Chinese and English, respectively. The search condition was((zirconia or zirconium) AND implant) AND surface treatment. Here,we reviewed the surface treatment techniques of zirconia implants, and introduced the properties, the surface treatment techniques and commercialization of zirconia implants.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Totally 23 papers were included in result analysis. Commonly used surface treatment technologies of zirconia implants include sand blasting, acid etching, sandblast and acid-etching, selective filtration etching, laser, ultraviolet and coating. These technologies all contribute to improving the surface activity of the implant, increasing the roughness, and promoting bone bonding to a certain extent.Because of the very limited experiments, further investigations are required to explore the optimum technique for the surface treatment of zirconia implants.
