Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is a class of RNA molecules, transcripted by RNA polymeraseⅡ, which consists of more than 200 nucleotides and protein-coding function. Many studies have indicated that lncRNA plays an important role in epigenetics, transcription and post-translational processing. The abnormal expression of lncRNA significantly correlates with occurence, development, and metastasis of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and prognosis of the patients with RCC. This paper summarizes the advances in the research on lncRNA in RCC to reveal the mechanisms of the disease at the molecular level, in order to provide new methods of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and prognostic assessment of RCC.

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 2004;0(06):-
Objective:To explore the resource of rice bran by comparing antioxidative activities and growth promotion of Bacillus bifidus between supernatant of formented rice bran(RBF) by Bacillus natto and water extract of rice bran(RBW) . Method:The reducing capacity the?OH and ??O 2 scavenging capacity and the inhibitory effect to oxidize lard were determined in vitro. The growth promotion for Bacillus bifidus by photodensity with simulated condition was investigated in vivo. Results:RBF and RBW had antioxidant activity in vitro. The IC50 of scavenging?OH and ??O 250 of RBF was 3.55 mg/ml and 23.5 mg/ml,0.3 and 10 folds higher than that of RBW respectively. In inhibiting oxidation of lard,RBF had a little higher antioxidative activities than RBW,near VE. RBF and RBW could promot growth of Bacillus bifidus by 65.2% and 17.8% respectively. By enzymatic digestion, the promotive rate of RBF was still 51.6%. Conclusion:RBF had higher antioxidant activity and growth promotion to Bacillus bifidus.

Objective To evaluate the differences of clinical features, neuroimaging, angiography and laboratory findings between different stroke subtypes according to TOAST criteria in elderly patients. Methods 91 patients (aged ≥ 80 years) with acute ischemic stroke were retrospectively reviewed in Departement of Neurology from April 2009 to August 2010.Subtypes of ischemic stroke were analyzed according to the classification of TOAST.Risk factors, clinical manifestations, complications, prognosis, neuroimaging, cerebrovascular lesions, and laboratory findings of different TOAST subtypes were compared. Results Large-artery atherosclerosis (LAA) (34/91) was the most common cause of acute ischemic stroke in elderly patients, and most criminal lesions (25/34) located at the intracranial arteries. In the LAA group, patients with intracranial (25/34) or extracranial (12/34) occlusive diseases were more than those in other groups.Patients with cardioembolism (CE) had lower lipid levels. In the CE group, patients with poor shortterm prognosis (7/15) were more than in the LAA or small-artery occlusion (SAO) group, and patients with severe cerebral edema (4/15) were more than those in other groups. In patients of the SAO group, complications occurred infrequently (4/20),and none had poor short-term prognosis. Conclusions There were some differences among different TOAST subtypes in clinical features, neuroimaging, cerebrovascular diseases, and laboratory findings. The clinical significance of our findings needs to be explored further.

Chinese Journal of Radiological Medicine and Protection 2014;34(10):743-747
Objective To study the effect of allicin on the growth and radiosensitivity of human pancreatic carcinoma BXPC3 cells. Methods BXPC3 cells were exposed to X-rays in the presence or absence of allicin.Cell proliferation was measured by MTT assay.Cell cycle distribution and apoptosis were detected by flow cytometry assay.Cell radiosensitivity and the influence of allicin on it was evaluated by colony formation assay. The expressions of Bax and Bcl-2 proteins were assayed by RT-PCR and Western blot. Results IC50 values of allicin on cell growth were 76.24,58.34 and 43.58 μmol/L under 12,24 and 48 h treatment, respectively.Treatment of cells with allicin obviously inhibited cell growth after irradiation and hence increased radiosensitivity (t =2.74,P < 0.05).This treament also enhanced radiation-induced cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase (t =11.41,P <0.05),apoptosis induction (t =12.36,P < 0.05),and Bax expression (t =4.83,P < 0.05),but it decreased Bcl-2 expression (t =3.69,P < 0.05).Conclusions Allicin could inhibit cell growth, induce cell cycle arrest and apoptosis via Bax/Bcl-2 pathway and hence increases radiosensitivity of BXPC3 cells.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2007;11(43):8781-8784
OBJECTIVE: Small diameter vascular grafts (< 6 mm) are used predominantly in revascularization and reconstructive procedures. The small diameter vascular grafts already used in our clinical practice include autologous veins or arteries, polyethylene terephthalate (Dacron) and expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) synthetic vascular grafts. Unfortunately these vascular grafts all have some disadvantages that prohibit their uses. Therefore search for ideal small diameter vascular grafts has become the focus in recent years.DATA SOURCES: A computer-based online search of Pubmed database was undertaken to identify the articles about small diameter vascular grafts published in English between January 1990 and January 2007 with the key words of "prosthetic graft, vascular bypass graft, small diameter vascular graft, tissue engineering".STUDY SELECTION: The data were selected firstly to choose the full-text of articles met the criteria. Inclusion criteria: ① Articles about biological vascular grafts; ②Articles about synthetic vascular grafts; ③Articles about small diameter tissue engineering blood vessels. Exclusion criteria: Repetitive or analogical articles or case reports.DATA EXTRACTION: Totally 113 articles on small diameter vascular grafts were collected and 41 met the inclusive criteria after eliminated the repetitive or similar studies or case reports.DATA SYNTHESIS : Although biological vascular grafts have the outstanding advantages, such as superior long-term patency, relatively resistant to infection, minimal thromboembolism, etc., they also have predominant disadvantages of limited availability, durability and aneurysm formation. Dacron and ePTFE are currently the standard synthetic vascular grafts in the vascular bypass surgery, but their immediate or long-term patency rates are relatively poor due to compliance mismatch, thrombogenicity and poor haemodynamics, especially when they are used in small diameter revascularization and reconstructive procedures. Thus, various modifications have been applied to Dacron and ePTFE grafts to improve their function. In recent two decades, the emergence of tissue-engineering technology has made the development of a novel biologically viable vascular substitute feasible, and it may prove to be the ultimate solution for better small-diameter vascular grafting.CONCLUCTION: So far there is no completely biodegradable small diameter vascular graft suitable for the arterial circulation in humans. Construction of an ideal small-diameter vascular graft will require an interdisciplinary effort requiring critical contributions from biologists, engineers, and clinicians, with strong collaborations among these 3 fields being crucial to success.
