BACKGROUND: As a group of primary cells,stem cells have the potentials of self-renewal and multi-directional differentiation, and can replace the damaged cardiomyocytes to construct new vessels, and enable the asthenic heart to obtain the blood pumping function again.This study summarized the progress of stem cell transplantation in treating cardiovascular diseasesDATA SOURCES:A computer-based online search of Pubmed database was undertaken to identify English articles published from January 2000 to December 2005, the keywords were "stem cell transplantation, cardiovascular diseases".STUDY SELECTION: The articles were primarily checked, and the references of each literature were looked up. Inclusive criteria:articles correlated with the classification and the transplanted pathways of stem cells,the present status,problems and prospect of its basic and clinical application in treating cardiovascular diseases. Exclusive criteria: repetitive study or Meta analysis.DATA EXTRACTION:Totally 50 relative literatures were collected, and 31 of them accorded with the inclusive criteria,and the other 19 were excluded due to the old or repetitive contents. Of the 31 involved literatures, 19 were about the classification of stem cells used in cardiovascular system, 1 about the transplanted pathways of stem cells, 8 about the application of stem cells in treating cardiovascular diseases, and 3 about the existing problems and prospect.DATA SYNTHESIS:With the continuous improvement of living level and aging, cardiovascular diseases have become the main causes for death and disability in modern society.Stem cells have the potentials of multi-directional differentiation, and have become the main seed cells for cell replacement therapy, and provided important investigative and applicating field for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. At present, there are many stem cells to be used in cardiovascular system, including embryonic stem cells, umbilical cord blood stem cells, peripheral blood stem cells, bone marrow stem cells, skeletal muscle satellite cells, myocardial stem cells, adipose tissue-derived stem cells, etc. The common pathways for stem cell transplantation are direct injection into myocardium,intracoronary artery injection and intravenous injection.Stem cell transplantation can treat cardiovascular diseases by promoting angiogenesis and myocardial regeneration, decreasing myocardial apoptosis and reducing myocardial collagen, then ameliorate the cardiac function, and breakthrough and progress have been made in both animal models and clinical studies. However, problems sill exist to be solved, and there is agreat distance to the routine clinical application.CONCLUSION: Stem cells are the important fields of the basic research and clinical application for preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases,thus it will provide powerful theoretical and practical supports for the more effective prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases to solving the key points and difficulties in cardiovascular diseases.

Objective To upgrade No.1 Military Medial Project database from Oracle8.17 to Oracle10g. Methods Through the establishment of database link, the database migration was realized based on full test's foundation. Results The database was upgraded and the system's operation speed was enhanced greatly. Conclusion Under the existing technology, it is feasible to upgrade Oracle database from Oracle8.17 in 32 bits to Oracle10g in 64 bits, and the benefit is remarkable.

BACKGROUND: Clinical observation demonstrates that accelerated fracture healing or lower limb heterotopic ossifications always occur in patients with paraplegia. It indicates that peripheral nervous system may play an important role in fracture healing process.OBJECTIVE: To observe bone histomorphometery parameter, callus formation and biochemical change during the process of fracture healing of unilateral lower limb denervated tibia.DESIGN: Self-control animal experiment.SETTING: Tianjin Hospital.MATERIALS: Totally 36 six-month-old healthy male Wistar rats, with mean body mass of 210 g, were used in this experiment.METHODS: This experiment was carried out at Animal Experimental Center of Tianjin Hospital from March 2001 to March 2004. Denervated tibia fracture model and innervated tibia fracture model were made in the same rat. Animals were executed under anaesthetic status at week 2 and week 4 after fracture. Bilateral tibias were chosen to take radiografts.Biomachamical strength was measured and non-decalcification sections were prepared to perform bone histomorphometery observation.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Comparison of wet weight of bilateral tibias and callus of rats between two groups after fracture. ②X-ray plain film scoring. ③ Biomechanical testing of tibial samples. ④ Histomorphological observation of fracture healing RESULTS: ① Wet weight of bilateral tibia and callus of rats in denervated group was much higher than that in innervated group at weeks 2 and 4 after fracture [(0.94±0.15) vs (0.76±0.14) g, (1.06±0.26)vs (0.81±0.10) g,P ＜ 0.05]. ②In X-ray plain film scoring, callus formation was significantly increased in denervated group (P ＜ 0.01). ③In biomechanical testing of three-point bending of tibial sample, callus intensity was significantly lower at weeks 2 and 4 after fracture in denervated group than in innervated group[ (9.88±8.49)vs ( 16.62±13.38 ) N, ( 12.77±7.55 )vs (20.19±10.60) N,P ＜ 0.05]. ④Bone histomorphometery showed that compared with innervated group, mineralized bone trabecula width of denervated group was significantly reduced (P ＜ 0.05), osteoid width was increased , osteoclast index and bone absorption area were significantly increased (P ＜ 0.05), and there were no significant difference of fibroblast index and bone formation area between two groups; Compared with innervated group, mineralized deposition rate in the denervated group was significantly reduced (P ＜ 0.05), the mature time of osteoid was elongated (P ＜ 0.05).CONCLUSION: Peripheral nervous system may play an important role during early and middle period of fracture healing. Intact innervation is essential for normal fracture healing.

Objective To investigate the influential factors for refracture of the adjacent vertebral body following percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) treatment of patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs).Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on OVCFs patients undergone mono-segmental PVP from July 2007 to March 2010.Patients' age,gender,bone density,bone cement infusion dosage,bone cement leakage and pre-and post-operative fracture reduction were documented.Kaplan-Meier remaining rate curve was used to predict the trend of time to refracture.The related factors for adjacent vertebral body refracture following PVP were analyzed.Results In all,216 patients (98 males and 118 females; age range of 55-76 years,average 65.4 years) were enrolled in this study.Follow-up lasted for 12-18 months.Ninety-two patients sustained refracture including 68 patients with refracture of the adjacent vertebral body.Refracture of the adjacent vertebral body presented time-concentrated tendency and 66％ (45/68) occurred within 100 days followed by a notably lower incidence.Whereas the time to refracture of the non-adjacent vertebral body was not obviously centralized.Bone cement infusion dosage and vertebral body reset condition were strongly associated with the refracture incidence of the adjacent vertebral body,while opposite results were observed in regard of age,gender,bone density and bone cement leakage (or not).Conclusion PVP predisposes OVCFs patients to refracture of the adjacent vertebral body and its influential factors may be associated with bone cement infusion dosage and vertebral body reduction condition.

Objective To establish the structured electronic medical records system based on XML in hospital. Methods The software system of electronic medical record which is suitable for the practical environment of hospital was developed to establish various types of specialized templates and train the clinicians well. Results The establishment of hospital-wide electronic medical record system has achieved the major goals. Conclusion In the current technical conditions, through process reengineering and software development, the hospital can establish the appropriate electronic medical records system to improve the quality of medical records and efficiency of clinicians.

Objective:To discuss the curative effect of bifid triple viable capsules in the patients after laparoscopic cholecystecto-my ( LC) . Methods:Totally 100 cases of patients with LC were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group at random. The patients in the two groups underwent LC under the general anesthesia, and were given routine medical treatment after the operation. The patients in the observation group were additionally given bifid triple viable capsules, 630mg per time, twice a day for 1 week as the treatment course. The changes in the occurrence of diarrhea, alteration of intestinal flora and plasma D-lactic acid of the patients and drug adverse reactions in the two groups were observed and compared after the medical treatment. Results:One week after the operation, the occurrence of diarrhea and alteration of intestinal flora of the patients in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0. 05), and compared with those before the treatment, the plasma D-lactic acid levels of the patients in the two groups were declined (P<0. 05 or P<0. 01), and the declining rate in the observation group was much higher than that in the control group (P<0. 05). Totally 3 and 5 cases of drug adverse reactions were appeared in the observation group and the control group, respectively with no significant difference (P>0. 05). Conclusion: The application of bifid triple viable capsules in the pa-tients after LC can effectively reduce the plasma D-lactic acid levels, occurrence of diarrhea and alteration of intestinal flora with prom-ising security, which is good for the postoperative recovery of the patients.

Objective To investigate the feasibility of reconstruction of ureter with tubularized peritoneal free grafts for the treatment of avulsion of ureteral mucosa using animal models.Methods Twelve adult dogs were randomly divided into the reconstruction group(n=6) and the control group(n=6).Firstly,the model of avulsion of ureteral mucosa about 3-5 cm long was made.In reconstruction group,tubularized peritoneal free grafts and ureteral stents were placed in the injured ureters;and in control group,no operation was performed but to place the stents into the ureter.The curative effect was observed by IVU and histological examination 10 weeks after operation.Results In reconstruction group,IVU showed normal size and morphology of the kidneys.There was no hydronephrosis,and no obvious stricture of the part of ureter in which peritoneal free grafts were used as mucosa substitutes.In control group,IVU showed no image or only obscure enlarged outlines of the kidneys,and no image of the ureters.Atresia or severe stricture of the ureters was observed in all dogs in control group;while in reconstruction group,the peritoneal membrane was replaced by integrate transitional epithelium,and no obvious stricture was observed.Subepithelial abundant neovascularization was also seen.Conclusions For avulsion of ureteral mucosa exceeding 3 cm,placing stents only will lead to ureteral stricture or atresia,reconstruction using tubularized peritoneal free grafts as mucosa substitutes is an effective method.

Objective To evaluate the feasibility and the value of video density scale (VDS) for assessing myocardial microperfusion.MethodsVDS and corrected TIMI frame counted (CTFC) were calculated and compared in 58 cases undergoing coronary catheter angiography.ResultsVDS of 58 cases was (22.5±5.8)and 95% confidence interval of normal myocardial microperfusion is(20.2,24.7).The CTFC was (21.1±4.5).It showed negative correlation between VDS and CTFC.ConclusionVDS is feasible to assess myocardial microperfusion quantificationally.The possibility of myocardial microperfusion dysfunction would be increased when VDS is lower than 20.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the feasibility and the value of videodensitometric scale (VDS) in assessing myocardial microperfusion. Methods11 Beagles were embolized small coronary artery with polystyrene microbubble (100 μm). Coronary angiography was performed after the embolization and the VDS was calculated. Single photon emission computerized tomography (SPECT) was also performed after embolization and SPECT scores were also calculated. ResultsVDS after embolization was (15.2±3.8); and SPECT score was (17.6±6.4). VDS correlated negatively with SPECT scores (r=－0.85, P<0.05).ConclusionVDS keeps a closely correlation with SPECT. It can be used to assess myocardial microcirculation in clinical.
