1.Content Determination of Fe in Iron Dextran Preparations by UV-VIS
China Pharmacy 2001;0(10):-
OBJECTIVE:To establish the ultraviolet visible spectrophotometry(UV-VIS)for the determination of Fe content in iron dextran preparations.METHODS:Under the acidic condition,Fe~(3+)was dissociated from iron dextran solution by heating, then Fe~(3+)was deoxidized into Fe~(2+)by hydroxylamine hydrochloride, and red Fe~(2+)-orthophenanthroline complex was formed through combination with o-phenanthroline.The content of the Fe~(2+)-orthophenanthroline complex was determined by UV-VIS at a wavelength of 510 nm.RESULTS:The linear range of Fe~(2+)was 0.5~4.0?g?mL~(-1)(r=0.999 9). The average recoveries of two preparations(tablets and injection)of iron dextran were 99.8%(RSD=0.52%)and 99.7% (RSD=0.44%),respectively.CONCLUSION:The UV-VIS method is simple, accurate in results and applicable for the determination of iron dextran preparations.

Leukotriene is a crucial inflammation medium in the process of asthma, involved in the inflammation and remodeling of airway. This article summarizes the origin, synthesis and biological activity of leukotriene in asthma.and discuss the implications of leukotriene receptor antagonists(Montelukast)for asthma in children. The randomized.double-blind and muhicenter clinical trials are needed to determine the efficacy of Montelukast in infants less than 2 years old with asthma.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1983;0(05):-
To study the invasiveness of endometrial cells of endometriosis. 49 specimens of either normal endometrials or that from endometriosis were cultured, and the invasiveness of them different cells was studied by Transwell Col Insert cell culture plate. The results showed that the invasiveness of stromal cells was stronger than that of epithelial cells; the invasiveness of cells from patients with endometriosis was stronger than that of the controls. The results suggested that stromal and epithelial cell of the endometrium may play different roles in the pathogenesis of endometriosis; the character of the endometrium from patients with endometriosis was different from that of women without endometriosis.

Objective To report the spectrum of electron transfer flavoprotein dehydrogenase (ETFDH)gene mutations in 20 Chinese RR-LsM families. Methods Twenty-four RR-LSM patients in the First Hospital of Peking University from January 2003 to May 2010 were collected and the clinical characteristics were analyzed. These patients came from 20 families in North Mainland China.Sixteen families had 1 patient each.and the other 4 families had 2 patients.ETFDH gene analysis was performed in all patients,11 family members and 100 healthy controls. Results The mean onset age was(27.9±9.9)years.The main symptoms were limb weakness(21,87.5%),dysmasesia(15,62.5%),neck weakness (14,58.3%)and myalgia(14,58.3%).Eighteen patients had high level of acyleamitine.Fifteen of 17patients had glutaric aciduria.Seventeen ETFDH mutations, including 13 missense mutations,2 splice mutations, and 2 nonsense mutations, were identified in 19 families:c.998A>G,c.1450T>C,c.1703T>C,c.1717C>T,c.821G>A,c.643G>A,c.251C>T,c.1763A>T,c.IVS7+2T>C and c.IVS6+1G>A were Hovel mutations which were not found in 100 healthy controls.Nine families had the mutation of c.770A>G(P.Y257C)and 5 families had the mutation of c.1227A>C(P.L409F).Conclusions The numerous novel mutations in ETFDH gene indicate that Chinese RR-LSM might have special mutation pattern.c.770A>G(P.Y257C)and c.1227A>C(p.L409F)may be hot spot mutations in North Mainland China.

Recent Advances in Ophthalmology 2017;37(7):662-666
Objective To explore the possibility of three-dimensional orbit replications for clinic and teaching of orbital blowout fracture surgical operation. Methods The orbital CT DICOM format data from 10 patients with orbital floor fractures were selected between November 2016 and January 2017 from Wendeng Osteopath Hospital.Thresholding technique, region growing technique, edit mask technique and multiple slice edit technique were used in sequence by Mimics software. And 3D replications were printed by Object 500 3D printer. The sizes of the replications were measured. The model of orbital blowout fracture and surgical implant model were simulated by senior orbital surgeon. Results In the 10 cases, male was 5 cases, and female was 5 eyes. The 3 D replications of the orbits were successfully designed and printed. The sizes of the 3D replications were basically consistent with those of patients' orbits, and there was no statistical difference (all P > O.05).Under operation room surgery simulation environment, the orbital fracture surgical repair operation was demonstrated to the resident by the senior surgeon,3D printing orbital blowout fracture model can be successfully used to simulate the operation and teaching demonstration. Conclusion 3D printing orbital blowout fracture model can restore the true orbital injury and orbital anatomic details, provides the design operation of stereoscopic model for the physician, which has positive significance to understand the scope and surgery teaching simulation of orbital blowout fracture.

ObjectiveTo investigate the characteristic of pathology in Chinese patients with Nonaka myopathy.MethodsThirteen patients (7 males and 6 females) diagnosed with Nonaka myopathy in our laboratory from January 2002 to March 2011 were included in this study.Their mean age was 39.5 years old and the mean duration of illness was 4.15 years. The most common symptoms were weakness of raising feet with sparing of quadriceps femoris muscles in the early stage of disease. One patient presented the initial symptoms of upper limb weakness. Muscles biopsies were obtained from all these 13 patients. Histology study including immunohistochemical (IHC) staining with antibody against amyloid 3,phosphorylated tau protein,ubiquitin,glucose-regulated protein of molecular weight 78 000(GRP78),calnexin,caspase-12and Bax were performed.Skeletal muscle samples from 3 chronic fatigue syndrome patients,2 myofibrillar myopathy patients were used for control in the IHC staining. All coding exons of uridinediphospho-N-acetylglucosamine 2-epimerase gene were directly sequenced in genomic DNA from these patients. Results The main pathological changes of tibialis anterior muscle in 12 cases were muscle dystrophy with rimmed vacuoles. The rimmed vacuoles were positive for anti-β-amyloid,tau protein and ubiquitin in IHC studies. In the atrophy fibers,IHC showed the increased expression of endoplasmic reticulum stress related proteins GRP78 and calnexin, and apoptosis proteins of caspase-12 and Bax.ConclusionsThere is accumulation of abnormal proteins in muscle fibers in Chinese patients with Nonaka myopahty. These proteins may stimulate endoplasmic reticulum stress and apoptosis, which may be a mechanism responsible for muscle damage.

Objective To investigate the relationship between self-efficacy and positive degree in patients with cervical spondylosis.Method A questionnaire survey was conducted among 98 patients with cervical spondylosis. Results The self-efficacy score was 6.30±1.56,the score on the positive degree was 53.76 ±12.53.The self-efficacy and positive degrees were positively correlated (r=0.531,P<0.001).Conclusions The patient's self-efficacy and positive degree are at medium level.Nursing staff should take corresponding measures to improve self-efficacy of cervical spondylosis patients,in order to improve its positive degree and achieve the purpose of effective self-management and health promotion.
