Objective:To propose a method to evaluate the total body water (TBW) of patients on hemodialysis with urea kinetic model (UKM), and compare it with body surface bio-impedance spectrum (BIS) analysis. Methods:We enrolled 24 adult patients with end stage renal disease (ESRD) without hyper-catabolism in our dialysis center. All of them had been on hemodialysis for more than 3 months. TBW was measured with BIS analysis immediately before and after dialysis session, and one hour after hemodialysis session. Spent dialysate was collected; blood samples were taken before and one hour after hemodialysis session, TBW before hemodialysis session were calculated by UKM. Results:Patients were 6 men and 18 women, the average age was (51.2?13.5) years and the average time on dialysis was (33.2?36.7) months. Causes of ESRD included chronic glomerulonephritis (8 patients), diabetic nephropathy (1 patients), hypertensive renal damage (1 patients), interstitial nephritis(two patients), chronic pyelonephritis (two patients). The average ultrafiltration volume was (2.7?1.0) L (0.5-4.4 L) . Plasma urea concentrations were (23.06?5.76) mmol/L and (8.15?2.06) mmol/L before and one hour after hemodialysis session, respectively. There was no significant difference between TBW measured immediately after and one hour after hemodialysis session with BIS analysis [(29.9?8.8) L and (29.8?8.6) L, respectively; average difference was (0.1?0.9)L, P=0.70]. Objective To investigate the relationship of single nucleotide polymorphism (4G/5G) in the promoter of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1) and plasma PAI-1 level with gastrointestinal bleeding in Henoch-Sch?nlein purpura (HSP). This article reviews the effect of acupuncture in antagonizing oxygen stress and the mechanism of its anti-free radical effect in various diseases. The authors hold that acupuncture not only has a chain-blocking effect, but also has preventive and repairing effects of anti-oxidation. And anti-OS action is one of the important mechanisms of acupuncture.

β-Amyrin synthase (β-AS) genes of Glycyrrhiza uralensis from 6 different regions were analyzed by PCR-SSCP and sequenced, then the correlationship between β-AS SNP and regions of Glycyrrhiza uralensis were determined. According to the 1 coding single nucleotide polymorphism on the first exon of β-AS gene at 94 bp site, Glycyrrhiza uralensis could be divided into 3 genotypes. In these genotypes, the percentage of 94A type in genuine regions was much higher, and it had significant differences with the percentage in non-genuine regions (P < 0.001). The results of the experiment proved that different β-AS genotypes at 94 bp site from different regions may be one of the important reasons to result in the genuineness of Glycyrrhiza uralensis.

The hexane extract from marine actinomycetes 124092 showed potent inhibition on B16 cell line by MTT assay. The hexane extract was fractionationed on silica gel column by vacuum liquid chromatography to afford 6 fractions(Fr1~Fr6), and Fr6 showed cytotoxic activity. To determine the bioacitve components of hexane extract, Fr6 was analyzed by GC/MS. The main components were identified as palmitic acid (11.76%), oleic acid (12.16%), linoleic acid (14.77%), and lactobacillic acid (61.31%). It have been reported that palmitic acid, oleic acid, and linoleic acid possess cytotoxic activity on rat ascites tumor cells and linoleic acid have suppressive effect on human lung adenocarcinoma cells.

AIM:To explore relationship between the normal strehl ratio ( SR ) values of total aberrations/SR values of total higher-order aberrations and modulation transfer function ( MTF ) at total corneal at different pupil diameters in normal population.
METHODS: To exam the SR values of total aberrations and SR values of total higher-order aberrations of total corneals in 200 people ( 400 eyes ) using SIRIUS 3D topography system and analysis the corresponding root-mean-square ( RMS) .
RESULTS: The subjects with different pupil diameters (3. 0, 5. 0, 6. 0, 7. 0mm)'s exam results of total corneal were as following:SR value of total aberrations 100’(0. 45±0. 12), (0. 25±0. 06), (0. 17±0. 05), (0. 13±0. 04); SR value of total higher order ab cerrations 100’(0. 69±0. 14), (0. 34±0. 07), (0. 24±0. 05), (0. 16±0. 04);SR value of total aberrations 200’(0. 45±0. 12), (0. 24±0. 06), (0. 20±0. 04), (0. 16±0. 03); SR value of total higher order aberrations 200’(0.70±0. 13), (0. 35±0. 07), (0. 27±0. 06), (0. 20±0.04 ) . The SR values of each group decreases with the increases of pupil diameters. The SR values of total aberrations and SR values of total higher - order aberrations at total corneals are negatively correlated with corresponding RMS value. When the pupil diameter is small, the SR value of total aberrations is more related to higher frequency region of MTF. When the pupil diameter is big, the SR value of total aberrations is more related to lower frequency region of MTF.
CONCLUSION: The visual performance of normal people can be well reflected by SR values of total aberrations and SR values of total higher - order aberrations at total corneal.
