8.Reversible Posterior Leukoencephalopathy Synodrome
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2006;0(12):-
The etiology of reversible posterior leukoencephalopathy syndrome(RPLS)is more complex. Its pathogenesis has a lot of controversies, and its clinical manifestations are headache, nausea, vomiting, epileptic seizure, consciousness disturbance and visual abnormality.Neuroim- aging examinations have shown that diffuse symmetrical white matter edema is predominantly in the bilateral posterior brain regions.Clinical symptoms and neuroimaging changes can be recov- ered completely after timely and effective treatment. If the treatment is delayed,it may compli- cate with cerebral infarction or hemorrhage, and lead to irreversible damage.

OBJECTIVE To study the HBV-DNA level and its replication with only HBsAb positive for transplantation. METHODS Serial serum samples were studied with the quantitative determination of HBV-DNA by a quantitative PCR assay and determination of HBsAb by ELISA. RESULTS The positive rate of HBV-DNA was 8.4% in the patients with only HBsAb positive and that was 11.11% in the patients who had not been injected with vaccine;the level of HBV-DNA in 11 samples was less than 10~4 copies/ml and five samples showed the amount between 10~4-10~6 copies/ml.The positive rate of HBV-DNA was 8.4% in the patients with only HBsAb positive and that was 11.11% in the patients who had not been injected with vaccine;the level of HBV-DNA in 11 samples was less than 10~4 copies/ml and five samples showed the level between 10~4-10~6 copies/ml. CONCLUSIONS Patients with only HBsAb positive are still infective, which should be paid attention in transplantation.

· AIM: To evaluate the combined effect of rapamycin ophthalmic solution and cyclosporin A ophthalmic solution on allogeneic transplantation in a rat model.rats were used as donors. The animals were randomly assigned to 4 groups. Group A: control (ophthalmic solution solvent 100μ L); group B: 2g/L rapamycin ophthalmic solution 100μ L; group C: 10g/L cyclosporin A ophthalmic solution 100μ L; group D: 2g/L rapamycin ophthalmic solution 50μ L and 10g/L cyclosporin A ophthalmic solution 50μ L, 4 times every day. The treatment was started on 2d after operation, and the animals were administered until rejection. The grafts were inspected by slit-lamp microscope and the corneal survival time was recorded. The pathologic changes were measured by light microscope.significantly prolonged compared with the control group (P < 0.01). However, the combined therapy (group D) was significantly superior compared with group B and C (P<0.05, P< 0.01). The histopathological findings showed that the inflammation cells, neovascularity in each treated group were significantly fewer than that in control group at 14d after operation.a double drug regimen with rapamycin ophthalmic solution and cyclosporin A ophthalmic solution for the control of acute corneal allograft rejection. It indicats that the combined therapy produced synergistic effect.
