OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness of TCM and antibiotics in the treatment of urinary tract infection(UTI) systematically.METHODS:According to the requirements of Cochrane systematic review,literatures were retrieved from CNKI and Wanfang database.A meta-analysis was performed on 18 literatures conforming to inclusion criteria.RESULTS:Compared with control group,the OR value of treatment group and subgroups including TCM group,TCM combined with antibiotics group,chronic UTI group and senile UTI group were 3.99,3.95,3.95,4.23,4.35,respectively.The 95%CI of those groups were(2.97,5.37),(2.80,5.80),(2.80,5.80),(2.61,6.83),(2.64,7.18).The OR value was of treatment group 0.25(95%CI:0.17,0.37;P
2.EFFECT OF SHENG-HAI-LONG ON EXERCISE TOLERANCE OF RUNNERS

Sheng-hai-long (SHL) is a traditional Chinese medicine consisting of Syngnathus,Hippocampus,Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum,Radix Ginseng,Herba Cistanchis, Radix Angelicae, Fructus Lycii , and ten odd herbal drugs. In an attempt to explore its antifatigue action, the maximal aerobic capability (MC..) and maximal anaerobic capability (MCn) were measured in 40 mid-long distance runners (age 16. 7+1. 9 y;body weight 64+5 kg) before and after 1 month of intensive training. They were randomly divided into two groups; 20 received orally SHL 3 g ?kg"1 daily, while the other 20 did not. The results showed that the MC, in 1 -min all-out test,MC,and maximal lactic acid production from a maximal graded load test were all increased much more in SHL group than those in the control group ( P
3.Hip stress lower limb strength training improves the athletic limit of running and jumping in maximal driving strength

BACKGROUND:The driving strength may be an undiscovered power source with a great developing potential. To clarify the relationship between driving strength and lower limb strength is of great importance to the development of the theory of human movement science.OBJECTIVE: To find out the relationship between the maximal driving strength and the maximal lower limb strength.DESIGN: Observation and contrast analysis.SETTING: Department of Physical Education, Ocean University of China.PARTICIPANTS: A total of 94 male healthy university student athletes were enrolled from Ocean University of China between December 2000 and November 2001, aged (19.7±1.7) years and weighed (75.27±2.93) kg. All the objects that had never used the hip stress strengthtraining apparatus took part in theexperiment voluntarily.METHODS: Forty-six of 94 subjects were randomly selected to take part in an 11-month program of driving strength improvement by using hip stress lower limb strength training apparatus (far fixed hip-stressed lower-limb strength training apparatus and near fixed hip-stressed lower-limb strength training apparatus were manufactured by Ocean University of China, pattern number: HNLPT-04Ed, HNLPT-04E respectively). And other 48 subjects were arranged as the control group using current strength training methods (resistance forward leg extending and barbell squatting). For experimental group to do strength practice and measurement, the object sat on the hip-supporting seat straightly, pressed his hip against the hip-stressed resistant unit and put his feet on the pedals, then extended leg at the preset angle and locus.When the near fixed device was used, the trainee kept his hip and body trunk in a static position, and drove the pedals backward. When the far fixed device was used, the pedals fixed in a static position, the hip and trunk were pushedforeword by legs. ① Multifunction strength training apparatus and far fixed hip stress lower limb strength training apparatus were respectively used to test the maximal lower limb strength and maximal driving strength of 94 objects.② Comparisons between before and after training in two groups were made in the maximal driving strength and the maximal low limb strength.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The maximal leg strength and leg driving strength of 94 healthy subjects before and after training.RESULTS: All the 46 subjects in experiment group and the 48 subjects in control group were involved in the result analysis.①The maximal driving strength was lower than the maximal leg strength [(1 135.53±196.98) N, (2 414.62± 424.05) N, P < 0.01].②After the 11-month special training with hip stress lower limb strength training apparatus, the maximal driving strength of experiment group got a significant increase [(1 124.94±206.19), (1 762.24±193.45) N, P <0.01]. No significant differences were found in the control group.CONCLUSION: The increase of driving strength from the hip stress lower limb strength training may be an increase of athletic capability that can never be achieved by any current strength training method and apparatus. The application of this method will make it possible to realize great breakthrough of world sports records in the events of running and jumping.
4.Influence Factors and Control Measures for Microbial Limit Test of Traditional Chinese Medicine Decoction

OBJECTIVE: To provide reference for improvement of the quality of traditional Chinese medicine decoction. METHODS: The influence factors for microbial limit test of traditional Chinese medicine decoction were analyzed comprehensively. RESULTS&CONCLUSION: The microbial limit test of traditional Chinese medicine decoction developed in medical institution contributes to quality of traditional Chinese medicine decoction and safety of drug use.
5.Some factors affect to children go to kindergarten at the age from 3 to 5 in some provinces of the Mekong Delta

Study on 450 children at the age from 3-5 years old, 50% children go to kindergarten and 50% don’t. 40 kindergarten level staffs, 6 staffs in charge of population-family and children, 22 village level staffs, 9 village level leaders belong to the Mekong Delta. The result showed that: there was a clearly different awareness on the children‘s right as well as the importance of going to school of the parents between the parents of children who go to kindergartent and the other ones. The school issue in the Mekong Delta is imperative: lack of kindergarten: 78.7%; lack of classroom seriously: 78.4%. Lack of schools and classrooms was an important reason that children couldn’t go to school. The rate of teacher for kindergarten on over the region is high: 84.8%. The basic facilities were poor: 21.8%. It is necessary to propagandize to the family who have children in the school age. Reinforcing school, classroom and education facilities and improving teachers’ qualification and management officers should be done.

6.Introduction to hip-stress lower-limb specific strength training apparatus

Hip-stressed lower limb specific strength training apparatus is a new kind of training equipment with the combination of specific technical strength training and quantitative evaluating. Base on the mechanism of sports physiology and sports biomechanics, by applying the theory of motor learning and control, the apparatus adopts the training model of the "hip stress loading device" and "hip-feet starting and ending stress point" to simulate the track of working limb in running, jumping and throwing, controls the degrees of body movement freedom reasonably. For the first time, actualizes the heavy load specific strength and sports skill training of leg driving, leg pawing and trunk-backward knees-bend leg driving. The distinctive training pattern of forced track control and the training method of strength & skill coupling" used in this apparatus, makes the action in strength training approach to real sport skill in greatest extent, and shifts the result of strength training to the skill training as much as possible. So it remarkably increase the efficiency of strength training and has an great importance in changing the concept of strength training.
