Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2016;23(10):1473-1475
Objective To explore the clinical significance of detecting serum interleukin (IL)-6 in patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).Methods We detected the serum level of IL -6 in 35 patients with ESCC(observation group)and 35 healthy controls (control group)by double antibody sandwich enzyme -linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),and then analyzed its clinical value. Results The serum levels of IL -6 in the observation group (27.66 ±2.30)ng/L was significantly higher than (17.72 ±3.62)ng/L in the con-trol group (t =11.63,P <0.01).There was significant difference in the serum level of IL -6 in the observation group preoperation and postoperation [(27.66 ±2.30)ng/L vs (23.62 ±3.27)ng/L,t =5.12,P <0.01].The serum level of IL -6 in the observation group preoperation was relevant with clinical stages(χ2 =11.15,P <0.01).Conclusion The change of serum IL -6 level in patients with ESCC is related to the occurrence and development of ESCC,which is an important indication for diagnosis and prognosis.
2.A Structural Model for Health Promotion on 6th Grade Elementary School Students in Korea.
Journal of Korean Academy of Community Health Nursing 2006;17(1):102-111
PURPOSE: This study was designed to test and develop a structural model that explains health promotion behaviors of elementary school students in Korea. METHOD: Data were collected using questionnaires from 329 6th-grade elementary school students in a city. The data were analyzed using LISREL 8.0 program. RESULT: Health promoting behaviors were directly affected by some of predictive factors particularly self-efficacy, self-esteem, perceived health status, importance of health and internal locus of control. These predictive variables of health promotion behaviors explained 67% of the total variance in the model. Life satisfaction was directly affected by self-efficacy, health promotion behaviors, self-esteem, importance of health, internal locus of control and perceived health status. Powerful other locus of control was identified as an important variable that contributed indirectly to the improvement of life satisfaction through enhancing health promoting behaviors. These predictive variables of life satisfaction explained 46% of the total variance in the model. CONCLUSION: The derived model in this study is considered appropriate in predicting health promotion behaviors and life satisfaction in elementary school students in Korea. Also it can be used effectively as a reference model for further study, and it is suggest that this study be used to set the direction of health promoting education.

3.Expression of the kisspeptin/kiss1r system in the hypothalamic arcuate nucleus of rats with diet-induced obesity and its influence on the hypothalamic-pituitary-testis axis.
National Journal of Andrology 2014;20(9):792-797
OBJECTIVETo explore the expressions and functions of the kisspeptin/kiss1r system and GnRH in the hypothalamic arcuate nucleus (HAN) and the influence of the kisspeptin/kiss1r system on the hypothalamic-pituitary-testis (HPT) axis in the rat models of diet-induced obesity.
METHODSNinety newborn SD male rats were randomly assigned to receive normal diet (n = 30) and high-fat diet (n = 60) for the establishment of obesity models. The model rats were again equally divided into a control group and an experimental group, the latter injected with kisspeptin via the lateral ventricle. Then the body mass index (BMI) and endocrine hormone levels of the rats were recorded, the protein expressions of LepR, kisspeptin, kiss1r, and GnRH in the HAN determined by immunohistochemistry and Western blot, and the levels of GnRH mRNA in the HAN measured by qRT-PCR.
RESULTSSignificantly increased BMI and hormone levels indicated the successful establishment of diet-induced obesity models. Compared with the normal rats, the protein expressions of LepR, kisspeptin, and GnRH in the HAN were markedly decreased in the controls, and that of GnRH and the levels of LH and T significantly increased, but the expressions of LepR and kiss1r showed no remarkable changes in the experimental rats.
CONCLUSIONLateral ventricular injection of kisspeptin can upregulate obesity-induced low expression of GnRH, correct the dysfunction of the HPT axis, and thus improve reproductive function in rats.

Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2003;0(08):-
Objective To investigate the effects of ult rasonic cavitation on cell membrane cultured in vitro. Methods The rat pulmonary artery vascular smooth muscle cells were divided into three groups, control group, simple ultrasound radiation group and contrast plus ultrasound radiation group. The latter two groups were exposed to ultrasound(665 kHz, 0.5- W/cm 2) for 20 s but the last group with contrast agent. Immediately after the experiment or 24 hours after treatments, electron microscopic scanning was used to observe the membrane change. Results Compared with control group, the cell structure and cell surface had no apparent changes in the second group treated with ultrasound alone. In the third group, nearly 20% cells exhibited small holes with diameter mostly about 1-2 ?m in the cell surface and returned to normal appearance after 24 hours later. Conclusions Ultrasonic cavitation can cause small transient holes in cell surface and hence increase permeability of the cell membrane. It might be the main mechanism for gene delivery with ultrasound contrast agents.

Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2017;17(3):237-241
Objective To analyze and evaluate the safety and efficacy of modified Pie-crusting ( PC) technique for releasing medial tightness during primary total knee arthroplasty ( TKA) . Methods We completed primary TKA by the same performer with modified PC technique in 30 patients (34 knees) with genu varus from March 2014 to June 2016.By using a special curved scalpel with width limit of 3 mm and depth limit of 5 mm to poke the tension parts , we released the anterion bondle of superficial medial collateral ligament ( sMCL) and posteromedial corner structures ( PMCS) during tension happened in extension , and we released the posterior bondle of sMCL during tension happened in flexion .According to the gap value measured intraoperatively , we divided these cases into three groups: extension with flexion tension group ( 10 knees ) , extension tension group ( 13 knees ) , and flexion tension group (11 knees). The difference between medial and lateral gap value no more than 1 mm was defined as gap balance. We calculated the gap balance rate of each group .Series of weighted frontal X-ray were conducted at fixed period to evaluate the varus angle of the knee postoperatively. The range of motion (ROM), HSS scores and WOMAC scores were also recorded at the same time . Results Among the 34 knees , 31 knees reached the medial and lateral gap balance at both extension and flexion .There was a difference of 2 mm in medial and lateral gap value at extension in 1 knee and the same difference at flexion in the other 2 knees. The total postoperative gap balance rate was 91.2%( 31/34 ).The constrained inserts were implanted in 3 cases. No technical-related complications happened after the surgery. After the releasing procedure, the flexion gap value had an increase of 1 mm (range, 1-3mm) in the extension tension group , and the extension gap value had an increase of 1 mm ( range, 1-2 mm) in the flexion tension group, without significant difference (Z=-1.118, P=0.264).The ROM was 83.3°±14.7°preoperatively and 100.7°±14.2° postoperatively (t=-7.714, P=0.000).The median alignment of the knee was 11.5°(range, 7°-32°) preoperatively and 1° (range, 0°-4°) postoperatively (Z=-5.092,P=0.000).The HSS scores were (42.7 ±16.3) points preoperatively and (88.1 ± 9.9) points postoperatively (t=-21.868, P=0.000).The WOMAC scores were (76.2 ±8.2) points preoperatively and (11.4 ± 9.7) points postoperatively (t=31.726, P=0.000).All of them were significantly improved in comparison with those before the surgery. Conclusions Using modified PC technique is safe and effective in medial releasing during primary TKA .Both extension and flexion gap value will be affected by releasing tensed fiber at extension or flexion position .

The Korean Journal of Parasitology 2002;40(4):173-176
Glutathione S-transferase (28GST) with molecular mass of 28 kDa is an antioxidant enzyme abundant in Clonorchis sinensis. In adult C. sinensis, 28GST was localized in tegumental syncytium, cytons, parenchyma, and sperm tails examined by immunoelectron microscopy. C. sinensis 28GST was earlier found to neutralize bioreactive compounds and to be rich in eggs. Accordingly, it is suggested that 28GST plays important roles in phase II defense system and physiological roles in worm fecundity of C. sinensis.

10.The Effect of Koryo-Hand-Acupuncture on Recurrent Abdominal Pain of Children.
Korean Journal of Child Health Nursing 2001;7(4):519-529
Recurrent abdominal pain(RAP) occurs in 8-10% of elementary school children. It is suspected that functional causes are about 90% and organic causes about 10% for the recurrent abdominal pain. RAP is treated by antispasmodics or analgesics or antidiarrheal drugs in school health rooms. The purpose of this study was to verify the effect of Koryo-Hand-Acupuncture on recurrent abdominal pain of children. The duration of this study was from April to July, 2001. The subjects were the grade 4th-6th elementary students complaining recurrent abdominal pain. Total subjects were 46 cases; 23 cases of which were placed in experimental and the others in control group. The results of this study were as follows; 1.Numeric-pain-intensity of experimental group received Koryo-Hand-Acupuncture was decreased more than that of control group received mock Koryo-Hand-Acupuncture significantly. 2.Probed current in stomach corresponding point (A12) of experimental received Koryo-Hand-Acupuncture was decreased more than that of control group received mock Koryo-Hand-Acupuncture significantly. 3.Medication requirement rate of experimental group received Koryo-Hand-Acupuncture was decreased more than that of control group received mock Koryo-Hand-Acupuncture significantly. The following suggestions with the results of the study would be made like these; 1.Stimulation implement of Koryo-Hand- Acupuncture should be used independently and each effect should be investigated. 2. With repeated studies for various signs and diseases, the effect of Koryo-Hand- Acupuncture must be verified.
