10.Evaluating long-term outcomes of surgical procedures for inguinal hernia in Hue Central Hospital
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;435(11):27-30
Several methods for repairing inguinal hernia in children and adult patients have been applied in HuÕ Central Hospital. The long-term outcomes were evaluated in 158 patients. Rate of recurrence depends on age, sex, and severity of inguinal hernia and especially on the hernirraphy technique. Children are more likely to have recurrence so they should be given good procedures. Shouldice and Bassini procedures produced lower rate of recurrence, so they can be considered procedures of choice for repairing the inguinal hernia.
