Post-polio syndrome involves a variety of clinical manifestations, which need multi-dimensional evaluation measurement. Multi-dimensional Fatigue Inventory (MFI-20), muscle strength testing, laboratory test, imaging study, the sleep quality assessment, electro-physiological test, pain score, functional independence measure, moving obstacles evaluation, physical activity situation, walking ability as-sessment, the Medical Outcomes Study health survey short form, and evaluation of mental health scale are in common use in the studies.

OBJECTIVETo study the correlation of 1-deoxynojirimycin (DNJ) between Taxilli Herba parasitized in mulberry and its host-plants.
METHODThe contents of DNJ of Taxilli Herba parasitized in mulberry and non-mulberry were determined by RP-HPLC. DNJ was extracted with 0.05 mol x L(-1) HCl, and then detected by fluorescence detector after derivatized with FMOC-Cl at pH 8.0 with borate buffer. The separation was performed on an Agilent C18 (4.6 mm x 250 mm, 5 microm) column with a mobile phase of acetonitrile-0.1% aqueous acetic acid (51: 49) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL x min(-1). The wavelength of fluorescence detector was operated at lambda(EX) = 254 nm and lambda(EM) = 322 nm.
RESULTThe linear range of DNJ was 3.72-37.2 mg x L(-1) (r = 0.999 9). The average recovery was 96.42%. The contents of DNJ in mulberry and Taxilli Herba parasitized in mulberry were 1.39-10.16 mg x g(-1) and 0.46-2.72 mg x g(-1), respectively. However, the contents of DNJ could not be detected in Taxilli Herba parasitized in non mulberry and its host-plants.
CONCLUSIONAs the characteristic constituent of mulberry, DNJ was accumulated in Taxilli Herba This method can be applied to the quality control of Taxilli Herba from mulberry.

The rapid development of the Chinese economy and the continuous advancement of urbanization have made the problem of air pollution more prominent, which may have an impact on people's health. In recent years,a large number of studies have emerged in the academic community both domestically and internationally. Many cohort studies have shown that during pregnancy, the surrounding air pollutants are relatively high, which may increase the risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes. So now people are paying more attention to the impact of air pollutants on the health of pregnant women or fetuses. This article provides a brief review of the impact of atmospheric pollutants on some adverse pregnancy outcomes and their possible biological mechanisms.

Objective: To explore the characteristics of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) in a grade three class A hospital to provide reference for rational drug use and reduction of ADRs. Methods: The new and serious ADRs reported during 2014 and 2016 were sta-tistically analyzed in terms of the report type, age, gender, administration route, drug variety and involving system. Results: The new and serious ADR reports reached to 400 cases, which accounted for 64. 52% of the total reports. Of the 400 ADR reports, there were 34. 25% distributed in the 60-74-year old. The proportion of male and female in the ADRs was basically equal, while that of male (50. 25% ) was slightly higher than that of female (49. 75% ). There were 57. 00% of ADRs caused by intravenous administration, and 31. 25% caused by anti-infective drugs, in which cephalosporins accounted for the most (32. 00% ). The most common manifesta-tion of ADR was damage to skin and its appendages, which accounted for 33. 00% , followed by the damage to gastrointestinal system (15. 50% ) and hepatorenal function (14. 00% ). Conclusion: Great attention should be paid to monitoring and reporting ADRs in our hospital, and drugs should be rationally used so as to reduce the occurrence of ADRs.

China has abundant available marginal land that can be used for cultivation of lignocellulosic energy plants. Saccharum arundinaceum Retz. is a potential energy crop with both high biomass yield and low soil fertility requirements. It can be planted widely as cellulosic ethanol feedstock in southern China. In the present work Saccharum arundinaceum was pretreated by liquid ammonia treatment (LAT) to overcome biomass recalcitrance, followed by enzymatic hydrolysis. The monosaccharide contents (glucose, xylose, and arabinose) of the enzymatic hydrolysate were determined by high performance liquid chromatography. Experimental results show that the optimal LAT pretreatment conditions were 130 0C, 2:1 (W/W) ammonia to biomass ratio, 80% moisture content (dry weight basis) and 5 min residence time. Approximately 69.34% glucan and 82.60% xylan were converted after 72 h enzymatic hydrolysis at 1% glucan loading using 15 FPU/(g of glucan) of cellulase. The yields of glucose and xylose were 573% and 1 056% higher than those of the untreated biomass, and the LAT-pretreated substrates obtained an 8-fold higher of total monosaccharide yield than untreated substrates. LAT pretreatment was an effective to increase the enzymatic digestibility of Saccharum arundinaceum compared to acid impregnated steam explosion and similar to that of acid treatment and ammonia fiber expansion treatment.

Objective:To explore the long-term preservation value and repair effect of normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) on clinically discarded kidneys. Methods:A case of clinical discarded donor kidney was collected, and NMP was carried out in vitro for 9 hours with recovered blood. The dynamic changes of renal appearance, blood gas and biochemistry analysis of perfusate and renal pathology were recorded. Results:In the second to fifth hour of NMP, the appearance of renal was pink and ex vivo normothermic perfusion assessment score (EVNP) was grade Ⅰ. While, the sixth hour and beyond of NMP, the appearance of kidney turned to dark red and EVNP was grade Ⅲ. The renal perfusion blood flow maintained above 150 ml/min in the first 6 hours and decreased significantly after that, and at the end, was only 50 ml/min. During the whole process of perfusion, urine output was maintained at about 100 ml/h. PO 2 remained above 100 mmHg in the first 5 hours of perfusion and from the 6th hour, was lower than 80 mmHg and continued to decline, and was close to 0 at the end of perfusion. The results showed that although the K + concentration changes in blood and urine in the first 5 hours of NMP had a good consistency, the lactic acid level had been rising. In addition, there was no significant change in the histopathology at the fourth hour of perfusion compared with that before zero-point puncture, and the fibrinous thrombus in glomeruli was improved compared with that before perfusion. However, at the sixth hour after perfusion and before the end of perfusion, the pathological changes of renal tissue were significantly worse. There were a large of thrombosis in glomerular blood vessels, renal tubular atrophy and acute tubular necrosis. Conclusions:NMP can realize the evaluation of extended criteria donors before transplantation, and it proves the feasibility and repair potential of NMP in kidney to a certain extent. At the same time, NMP also provides a new way to expand the source of donor kidney and to pre-treat organ in vitro.
