Objective:To study the tooth movement in the orthodontic treatment by Empower appliance following tooth extraction. Methods:40 cases with bimaxillary dentoalveolar protrusion were divided into 2 groups(n =20).After extraction of all first premolars of each case,the patients were treated by Empower appliance and Damon3-Mx appliance respectively without palatal enhance measure. Before and after treatment the patients were examined by cephalometric roentgengraphy with 1 9 measurements,the data were analysed by independent sample t test.Results:Tooth indicators∠UI-SN,∠UI-PP,∠L1 -MP,∠U1 -L1 ,UIE-PTV and LIE-PTV before and after the treatment in each group,and the variations between the 2 groups were significantly different(P <0.05).UM-PTV,LM-PTV, UIA-PTV,LIA-PTV,UL-EP,LL-EP and Z Angle were significant changed after treatment(P <0.05),no significant difference was found between the 2 groups after treatment(P >0.05).Conclusion:Empower appliance is more effective than Damon3-Mx in the treatment of bimaxillary dentoalveolar protrusion by anterior tooth torque control,upper and lower front teeth adduction and improvement of soft tissue lateral profile.

Objective To investigate the change of tear film function in patients with seasonal allergic conjunctivitis (SAC) between acute exacerbation and non-onset phase.Methods This was a prospective controlled study.Functional assessment of tear film was performed in 30 eyes of 15 patients with SAC (SAC group) between acute exacerbation and non-onset phase and 15 healthy controls (control group).The tear film function included tear film break-up-time (BUT),Schirmer I test (SIt) and tear film interferometer imager measurement.Results BUT was significantly decreased in SAC group on acuteexacerbation compared with that on non-onset phase and control group [(6.97 ± 1.56) s vs.(11.27 ± 1.39),(12.00 ± 1.11) s],and there was significant difference (U =20.50,P =0.000;U =1.00,P =0.000).Moreover,BUT in SAC group on non-onset phase was similar as control group(U =322.00,P ＞ 0.05).There was no significant difference in SIt among SAC group on acute exacerbation and non-onset phase and control group(P ＞ 0.05).In tear film interferometer imager measurement,80.0％(24/30) was Ⅰ-Ⅱ grade,20.0％(6/30) was Ⅲ grade in control group,20.0％(6/30) was Ⅰ-Ⅱ grade,80.0％(24/30) was Ⅲ-Ⅴ grade in SAC group on acute exacerbation,60.0％(18/30) was I-Ⅱ grade,40.0％(12/30) was Ⅲ-Ⅴ grade in SAC group on non-onset phase,and there was significant difference between SAC group on acute exacerbaiion and SAC group on non-onset phase,control group (x2 =19.27,P =0.000; x2 =8.40,P =0.004),and there was no significant difference between SAC group on non-onset phase and control group (x2 =1.98,P＞0.05).Conclusion SAC can cause the instability of tear film during the acute exacerbation,whereas this instability can be recovered within the non-onset phase of S A C,which is close to the normal control

AIM:To establish the HPLC fingerprint of methanol-resoluble component of processing Gentiana scraba Bge collected from different habits to provide evidence for quality control and quality evaluation of Gentiana scraba Bge.METHODS:Ten batches of processing Gentiana scraba Bge were measured by RP-HPLC,and the mutual mode was made by the similarity degree evaluating system 2004 of Chromatographic Fingerprint of Traditional Chinese Medicine promulgated by Chromatographic condition,consisted of Agilent-Eclipse-XDB-C_ 18-column and gradient elution with methanol-water,the detection wavelength was at 254 nm,flow rate was at 1.0 mL/min and the column temperature was at 20 ℃.RESULTS:The mutual mode of processing Gentiana scraba Bge was set up and the similarity of fingerprints of processing Gentiana scraba Bge from different habits was gained.CONCLUSION:According to the analysis of statistics,this method is steady,accurate with good repeatability and can be used as standardization implantation and quality control of Gentiana scraba Bge.

Objective To investigate the effect of glucocorticoid on ischemia-induced neuronal damage in gerbil hippocampus with forebrain ischemia model.Methods Twenty-one gerbils were randomly assigned to 3 groups (7 animals each). The animal was anesthetized and both common carotid arteries were exposed and separated. Silk threads were looped around these arteries. In group A and group B ,10 ?l saline was given and in group C dexamethasone-water soluble ( 3?g dissolved in 10 ?l saline ) was administered intracerebroventricularly. After a stabilization period of 60 min, transient forebrain ishcmia for 2.5 min was induced in group B and group C by pulling the arteries with 8g weights under the brain temperature of 37.5℃?0.2℃. Seven days after the ischemia, the brains were taken out and fixed with 10% buffered formalin. Brain slices, 5 ?m thick, were stained with hematoxylin and eosin. Objective: To prepare silibinin solid dispersion and measure its dissolution in vitro .Methods: Silibinin solid dispersions were obtained with urea, PVP and poloxamer188 as carriers by melting and coevaporation methods. Differential thermal analysis and powder X ray diffraction were used to determine the status of drug in carriers, and the dissolution characteristics in vitro were studied in simulated gastric juice. Results: In PVP silibinin solid dispersions drug was amorphous; in poloxamer188 silibinin solid dispersions, drug existed as fine crystal, while in urea silibinin solid dispersions most of silibinin existed as crystal, only a little as molecule. Poloxamer188 was the better carrier in improving the solution and dissolution rate of the drug. Conclusion: Poloxamer188 is a very useful carrier in improving the solubility and dissolution of silibinin. [

Methods: To compare 101 Clarification Agent with alcohol by measuring dry extract percent of herbal extract and its components GC qualitative and quantitative analyses of all Rhubarb, Hawthorn Fruit, Rhizoma chuanxiong, Radix Glycyrrhizae, Radix Astragali. Results: It was shown that dry extract percent, main components quantity of herbal extract using Clarification Agent are higher than that alcohol do.Conclusion: 101 Clarification Agent can be used to clear herbal extract instead of alcohol.
