1.Diagnosis and treatment of primitive neuroectodermal tumor
Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(8):624-626
Primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) is a kind of malignant tumor, which most often affects children and adolescents. The incidence of PNET has risen recently. PNET has low early diagnosis rate and poor treatment effect. With the application of RT-PCR and FISH in pathological diagnosis, and MRI and PET-CT in imageological diagnosis, as well as the implementation of target treatment and multidisciplinary integrated treatment concept in the treatment, the pathogenesis, diagnosis technology and treatment means of of PNET have made remarkable progress.
2.Platelets and erectile dysfunction.
National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(9):771-774
Platelets, small pieces of cytoplasm with biological activity, split and fall off the megakaryocytes and mature from the bone marrow. After stimulated, platelets produce nitric oxide to inhibit their own activation and aggregation. Pathologically, the injury of endothelial cells activates platelets and changes their functions. The release of inflammatory mediators and cytokines induces and enhances the development and progression of atherosclerosis, and thereby promotes the occurrence of erectile dysfunction. Besides, platelets and their related functional parameters may serve as important indicators in the diagnosis and treatment of erectile dysfunction.

Objective To study the effects of perinatal exposure to bisphenol A(BPA) on the expression of estrogen receptor ? and ? mRNA in the brain of F1 male offsprings. Methods Pregnant SD rats were given BPA at 2, 20, 100 mg/kg bw per day respectively from eleventh day of gestation throughout the whole lactation by gastric gavage until their pups were weaned on postnatal day 21, F1 male pups from each group were killed on postnatal day 21 respectively, the brain was removed for detecting the expression of estrogen receptor ? and ? mRNA by RT-PCR. Results BPA treatment caused a up-regulation of ER? mRNA and ER? mRNA relative expression in the brain, especially in the middle-dose and low-dose groups it was so obvious. Conclusion Perinatal exposure to BPA can cause a change of ER? mRNA and ER? mRNA expression in the brain of the male offspring, which may be a part of the mechanism of BPA induced brain development damage.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(16):-
Objective To investigate the effect of photodynamic therapy with chlorin e6 (Ce6) and 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) on mouse model of malignant melanoma. Methods The mouse model of malignant melanoma was established by injecting 0.1 ml A-375 cells (about 2?10 6 cells) under the right hind leg of BALB/c-6 mice, and that the yellowish white node appears at injection site proves the successful model. Twenty-four of 27 successful mouse models were irradiated at the tumor site with semiconductor laser (wavelength 652 nm) with a total dose of 100 J/cm 2 . Before laser exposure, the mice were treated with 10% 5-ALA by topical compress for 2 h or 7.5 mg/kg Ce6 by intraperitoneal injection for 1 hour or 5-ALA topical application combined with intraperitoneal injection of Ce6 (n=6 in each group). Another six mice as control only underwent PDT. One week after PDT,the mice were killed, the tumor mass was peeled off and weighed, whether the metastasis occurred or not was detected, and the tumor, liver, spleen, lung, kidney were sent to histopathological examination. Results The tumor weight in 5-ALA group,Ce6 group, and the combined group had significant difference as compared with control group (P0.05). The dehydration and scab formation and necrosis could be seen in tumor sites at 1 week after PDT. The cell collapse and necrosis, subdermal thrombosis and cell outline clouding could be observed by histopathological examination. Metastasis of melanoma were found in 5-ALA group,Ce6 group, and the combined group. Conclusion PDT with Ce6 and 5-ALA could kill the malignant melanoma effectively in animal experiment but could not affect the metastasis of melanoma.

Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2001;0(03):-
Objective The aim of this study was to explore the minimally invasive treatment for palpable undescended testes in the inguinal area. Methods Between August 2007 and March 2008,60 cases(74 testicular units)with palpable undescended testes in the inguinal area were treated by scrotal incision orchiopexy or/and laparoscopic orchiopexy depending on the location of inguinal testes. Results Among the 60 patients,26 cases who had the testes located between the external inguinal ring and the upper scrotum, received scrotal incision orchiopexy,of which the testes were fixed at the bottom of the scrotum in 23 cases, and at the upper scrotum in 1 case;the other 2(both had the undescended testis at the right side, between the external inguinal ring and the upper scrotum)were converted to laparoscopic orchiopexy because of unsatisfying surgical outcomes. The other 34 cases received laparoscopic orchiopexy,of which the testes were located in the groin in 16(41.1%)cases,close to the external inguinal ring in 18(52.9%),and complicated with indirect inguinal hernia in 8(23.5%,ligation of the hernia sac was performed at the level of internal inguinal ring);the testes were fixed at the bottom scrotum in the cases. The 60 patients were followed up for 3-6 months(mean,4.3 months)by B-ultrasonography,none of them showed atrophy or retraction of the testes,or indirect inguinal hernia.ConclusionsScrotal incision orchiopexy is feasible for palpable inguinal testes if the testis can be pulled upon to the upper scrotum,if not or the testis cannot be fixed on the bottom scrotum, laparoscopic orchiopexy should be used. Both of the procedures are effective.
